Ballard Park is a public park located at 924 Thomas Barbour Drive, Melbourne, Florida and is situated on the Indian River Lagoon and the Eau Gallie River in what was historically Eau Gallie, FL. It contains diverse recreational facilities and amenities, including boat ramps, lighted tennis courts and a pavilion. The park also contains a memorial to naturalist and author Thomas Barbour, who frequented the shell mounds on the park grounds as a boy.Two archeologists have speculated that the park is on the site of the former Ais Indian town of Pentoaya, where they spent their summers.The Melbourne High School rowing team bases their training here.

West Shore Junior – Senior High School, more often called West Shore, is a secondary school located at 250 Wildcat Alley in Melbourne, Florida. West Shore enrolls students from grades seven through twelve. It is part of the Brevard Public Schools System. It was the first "School of Choice" in Brevard County, Florida. In 2013, U.S. News & World Report ranked West Shore the 6th Best High School in the State of Florida. On a nationwide basis it was ranked #48 out of the 21,035 public high schools reviewed.Rick Fleming is the Principal.

Eau Gallie () is a section of the city of Melbourne, Florida, located on the city's northern side. It was an independent city in Brevard County from 1860 until 1969. That year residents of Eau Gallie and Melbourne voted to merge their governments. A subsequent vote resulted in the combined jurisdiction being named Melbourne. The name and identity of Eau Gallie persists in a number of local entities and was used by the Eau Gallie Arts District Main Street, a fully accredited Florida Main Street program since 2010.

The Houston Pioneer Cemetery is a historic cemetery in Eau Gallie, Florida. It is located within Rossetter Park off Highland Avenue between Oak Street and Shady Lane near the James Wadsworth Rossetter House. The cemetery includes graves of original settlers from Eau Gallie such as John Caroll Houston, III and his wife Mary Virginia Houston. The Houston Memorial Park is also located here with a memorial from 1947 located adjacent to the cemetery. This memorial dates the first grave at 1865, but no headstone contains that date. John Caroll Houston, IV was buried here.

The Eau Gallie Historic District is a historic district in Eau Gallie, Florida. It contains several old buildings. It also contains the Eau Gallie Arts District.

The James Wadsworth Rossetter House is a historic home in the U.S. located at 1320 Highland Avenue, Melbourne, Florida. The original address of the home was 1328 Houston Street. On July 27, 2005, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The house is owned by The Rossetter House Foundation, Inc., managed by the Florida Historical Society, and part of the Historic Rossetter House Museum.

Rossetter Park is a public park located on the East side of Highland Avenue between Oak Street and Shady Lane in Eau Gallie, Florida. The park contains the Houston Pioneer Cemetery. The park also contains several grand old live oaks festooned with hanging moss.

The Roesch House is a historic U.S. home located at 1320 Highland Avenue, Melbourne, Florida. The house is owned by The Rossetter House Foundation, Inc., managed by the Florida Historical Society, and part of the Historic Rossetter House Museum. The house was owned by William Roesch, the first mayor of Eau Gallie, Florida.

The Karrick Building is a historic U.S. building located at 1490 Highland Avenue, Eau Gallie, Florida. The building was constructed in 1924 by Jesse Karrick and it was used as a general merchandise and grocery store until 1963. Jesse Karrick was the first proprietor of the store and also served as the first fire chief of Eau Gallie.

Naval Air Station (NAS) Melbourne was a United States Naval Base in Melbourne, Florida. The Navy used NAS Melbourne for gunnery training for pilots of carrier-based fighter aircraft and as a base for WAVES during World War II. While operational, over 2,200 U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps Naval Aviators trained in Grumman F4F Wildcats and F6F Hellcats at NAS Melbourne.

Winchester Symphony House is a historic home located in the Eau Gallie-section of Melbourne, Florida. The house was built in 1886. William Treutler, director of the State Bank of Eau Gallie and hotel proprietor in Eau Gallie, built the house. Brevard County and the State of Florida list this building as a historic site. Currently, the house serves as the headquarters for the administrative staff of the Brevard Symphony Orchestra.

The Ginter Building is a historic U.S. building located at 1540 Highland Avenue, Eau Gallie, Florida. The building was constructed in 1926 by Clifford Ginter. Over the years, it was used as an apartment building, a rescue mission house, a store, professional offices, and a nursery school.
