Delmar, Delaware

Highball Signal is a historic railroad signal located in Delmar, Delaware, United States. It is a white sphere mounted on a pole and located next to the railroad tracks to signal permission for a train to proceed at full speed, if the ball was at the top of the pole. The term "highball" came to be synonymous with a clear right-of-way and for trains to proceed at full speed. It was originally in service at New Castle, Delaware, and then at Hurlock, Maryland. The highball signal was moved to Delmar for display during the town's centennial in 1959, and is no longer used to direct railroad traffic, but is maintained as a public exhibition in a park near the railroad. It was placed on the US National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

The US 13 Dragway is an IHRA sanctioned drag racing facility. Its track is 3,600 ft (1,100 m) long, and has spectator seating for 2730 fans. It is located in Delmar, Delaware along with its sister track the Delaware International Speedway. The complex is one of Delaware's largest attractions.

West Potato House was a historic potato house located near Delmar, Sussex County, Delaware. It was one of the last surviving examples of its building type. It was built about 1925, and is a 1+1⁄2-story, gable fronted, balloon frame structure on a concrete block foundation. The house had a cellar. It measured 37.5 by 13.9 feet (11.4 by 4.2 m). It retained a number of important elements characteristic of potato house including: tall, narrow proportions, minimal fenestration, ventilation features, and tightly fitting door hatches. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. It is listed on the Delaware Cultural and Historic Resources GIS system as destroyed or demolished.

Union Station is a historic railway station located at Salisbury, Wicomico County, Maryland, United States. It was constructed in 1913–14, near the junction where the New York, Philadelphia & Norfolk Railroad intersected with the Baltimore, Chesapeake and Atlantic Railroad (later, the Baltimore & Eastern Railroad) in the center of Salisbury. Both railroads became part of the Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR). It has a 1+1⁄2-story, Flemish bond brick main block covered by a medium-pitched hip roof sheathed in slate, with single-story wings. From the 1920s to the 1950s, the PRR ran several passenger trains a day, including the Del-Mar-Va Express, through the station, north–south from Philadelphia to Cape Charles, Virginia.The PRR terminated passenger service in 1958. It was converted from a passenger station into a freight facility, and since 1986 the station used for other commercial purposes. The building has characteristics of the Colonial Revival style and was the most elaborate passenger facility to survive on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.Union Station was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

The Gillis-Grier House is a historic home located at Salisbury, Wicomico County, Maryland, United States. It is a 2+1⁄2-story Queen Anne style frame house built in 1887 by James Cannon. The house has gable-front elevations on three sides, a three-story octagonal tower, and a shorter 2+1⁄2-story service wing. Also on the property is a frame 1+1⁄2-story stable, now used as a garage. It is one of the dwellings that define Salisbury's Newtown neighborhood and named after the two inter-related families that held title to the property between 1896 and 1975.The Gillis-Grier House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.
