The Salisbury Center Historic District encompasses the historic town center and main commercial district of Salisbury, Connecticut. Established in 1741, it has served in that role since, and now reflects a typical 19th-century small town center. It extends along Main Street, between its junctions with Library Street and Under Mountain Road. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

Scoville Memorial Library is the public library of Salisbury, Connecticut. Established in 1803, it was the first in the United States open to the public free of charge. It is located at 38 Main Street, in an architecturally distinguished Romanesque 1894 building donated by Jonathan Scoville, a local philanthropist. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The John C. Coffing House is a historic house on United States Route 44 in Salisbury, Connecticut. Built in 1799 for one of the leading businessmen of the region, it is a good local example of late Colonial architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Bridge No. 2305, also known locally as the Burton Brook Bridge, is a historic bridge carrying U.S. Route 44 (US 44; Main Street) over Burton Brook in the Lakeville village of Salisbury, Connecticut. Built in 1873, this masonry arch bridge is a rare surviving example in the state of a typical late-19th century road bridge. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Lakeville Manor is a historic residential and institutional property at 12 Elm Street and 33 Sharon Road in the Lakeville village of Salisbury, Connecticut, United States. Built in 1883, the property includes a fine Second Empire building originally housing a convent, and a school. Both buildings have been converted to conventional residential use. They were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

The Lakeville Historic District in Salisbury, Connecticut is a historic district that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996. It is also the name of a local historic district that was established in 1970. The local historic district is entirely included within the National Register-listed district.The district represents about 10 acres (4.0 ha) of the village center of Lakeville, Connecticut where the street grid remains virtually unchanged from the late 19th century. The district is defined to include properties and sites that contributed to the historical development of the village. It is noted that the district area "is surrounded by a much larger area containing many additional historic industrial, commercial, residential, religious, and recreational sites and structures.": 2 At listing, it included 19 contributing buildings, 3 noncontributing buildings and three contributing sites on a 10-acre (4.0 ha) area. Of the 22 buildings, 13 are houses, stores, industrial buildings or other primary buildings; 9 are barns or garages or other secondary structures. The three sites are two parks, Furnace Park and Bicentennial Park, and a millpond associated with Holley Manufacturing Company.Several Holley Manufacturing Company buildings are included. The district includes the Holley Manufacturing Company building at 7 Holley Street, c.1870, the Holley Manufacturing Company building at 8 Holley Street, 1866, and the Holley Manufacturing Company mill pond.The railroad arrived in Lakeville in 1871, and is represented in the district by the Lakeville Station, c.1871.The Holley-Williams House, built 1768, is an "imposing" Federal-style house. Nearby are the Farnam Tavern, from 1759, and the John Hubbard House, from c.1830 (see accompanying photo #2).

Salisbury School is an elite all-boys, private college-preparatory boarding school founded in 1901 and located in Salisbury, Connecticut. Its school newspaper is The Cupola. Its mascot is the Crimson Knight. In 2015, Business Insider ranked it the most expensive private high school in the United States.

Lake Wononscopomuc is a lake located in the Lakeville section of Salisbury, Connecticut, United States. It has the distinction of being the deepest natural lake in the state. Wononskopumuc is a Mahican name for "rocks at the bend in the lake."Also known as Wononskopomuc Lake or Lakeville Lake, Lake Wononscopomuc is a natural, marl lake that supports a diverse community of aquatic plants. The town beach and a boat launch, known collectively as the Salisbury Town Grove, are on the lake’s north shore. The boathouse and private beach of the Hotchkiss School are on the lake's south shore. Access to the 348 acres (141 ha) lake is monitored because of fears that the invasive zebra mussel will be introduced on boats or trailers from nearby Twin Lakes. The area around the lake is residentially developed, although the houses are on large lots, and most are set far back from the lake behind tree buffers. The maximum depth of the lake is 102 feet (31 m), and mean depth is 36 feet (11 m).

The Hotchkiss School is a private, coeducational prep and boarding school in Lakeville, Connecticut, United States. Hotchkiss is a member of the Eight Schools Association and Ten Schools Admissions Organization, competing in the Founders League and New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC). Historically, it was a founding member of the G20 Schools group (not to be confused with the G20 Summit), before six schools left ahead of the renaming to G30 Schools.

The Scoville Powerhouse is a historic former power generation facility at Twin Lakes and Taconic Roads in the Taconic neighborhood of Salisbury, Connecticut. Built about 1899, it provided power to the surrounding estate of the Scoville family, owners of local iron mining and processing operations. It was converted into a privated residence in the 1950s, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984 for its distinctive architecture.

The Twin Lakes are adjacent Lakes Washining and Washinee, commonly referred to as East Twin Lake and West Twin Lake, in Salisbury amidst Connecticut's Northwest Hills.

The Mount Riga Ironworks was one of the most successful manufacturers of iron in the late colonial and post-Revolutionary period of United States history. Located in the far northwestern Connecticut town of Salisbury, it produced high quality iron for use in military and domestic applications, and supported a community of 1,200 people. It declined in the mid-19th century, and was closed in 1847. Surviving elements include an early 19th-century cold blast furnace and other foundational and archaeological remains. Its site, now part of a large private holding owned by the Mount Riga Corporation, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.
