Mecklenburg-Güstrow

Güstrow (German: [ˈɡʏstʁoː] ; Latin: Gustrovium) is a town in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in north-eastern Germany. It is capital of the Rostock district; Rostock itself is a district-free city and regiopolis. It has a population of 28,999 (2020) and is the seventh largest town in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Since 2006 Güstrow has had the official suffix Barlachstadt. The town is known for its renaissance Güstrow Palace, the old town and its brick gothic cathedral with Barlach's Floating Angel sculpture.

Güstrow Palace (German: Schloss Güstrow) is a Renaissance-era palatial schloss in Güstrow, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany, used as a museum and cultural centre. Built in 1558 for Ulrich, Duke of Mecklenburg, it is located close to the town wall of Güstrow's old town, and is quadrangular in shape. The 16th-century palace features stucco decorations and a Baroque-classicist gatehouse.

The Dom ("cathedral") is a Brick Gothic Lutheran church, the largest church in the German city of Güstrow. It was built as a collegiate church and has never actually been a cathedral. Initially completed in 1335, the church is the oldest extant building in Güstrow. It houses the sculpture Der Schwebende ("The Floating One"), a war memorial created by Ernst Barlach. The apostle figures by Claus Berg are also very well known. They are also called the Güstrow Apostles

The Güstrow Speedway Stadium (German: Speedwaystadion Güstrow) is an 8,000-capacity speedway stadium in Güstrow, Germany. The stadium is located on the eastern outskirts of the town, just off the Plauer Chaussee 4.The speedway track has a circumference of 298 metres and is home to the speedway team MC Güstrow.

Inselsee is a lake in the Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. At an elevation of 11.4 m, its surface area is 4.58 km². The lake is divided into two parts by a small 60 ha island „Schöninsel“. While the northern part of the lake is relatively flat, the average depth of the southern part is up to 6 m. The island (Schöninsel) is connected to the mainland by a bridge. The lake is located in the town limits of Güstrow, south of the city center. On the southern shore of Inselsee, the studio of Ernst Barlach, a German sculptor, is located. It was used by Barlach in the 1930s and currently functions as a museum.

Sumpfsee is a lake in the Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. At an elevation of 6 m, its surface area is 1.27 km².

Güstrow Solarpark is a 31-megawatt (MW) photovoltaic power station near Güstrow, Germany. It was built on the site of a former sugar factory and covers an area of 75 hectares (185 acres).
