Gwaun y Llwyni

Waun Camddwr is a top of Aran Fawddwy in the south of the Snowdonia National Park in Gwynedd, Wales. It is the highest point on a wide boggy area between the summits of Aran Fawddwy and Glasgwm. It was surveyed after the first Nuttall list was compiled, and found to have just enough prominence to be included. The summit is a rocky outcrop amid an area of heather, long grass and peat bog. Gwaun y Llwyni rises to the south of the summit.

Pen yr Allt Uchaf is a subsidiary summit of Aran Fawddwy in the south of the Snowdonia National Park in Gwynedd, Wales. The summit is the highest point on a ridge branching off to the west of Aran Fawddwy's south ridge. The summit is marked by a small cairn, and offers bird-eyes views of Cwm Cywarch. Close views of the steep south faces of Glasgwm, Gwaun y Llwyni and Aran Fawddwy are observed.

Craig Cywarch is an extensive crag looming above Cwm Cywarch. The nearest village is Dinas Mawddwy on the A470. Climbing routes on the various buttresses range from E2 to V Diff. Access paths can be rather overgrown and even finding the bottom of the routes can be rather difficult.

The Afon Cerist is a small river that flows from underneath Craig Portas, the cliffs on the north side of Maesglase mountain, to meet the River Dyfi at Dinas Mawddwy. It forms the northern border of the Dyfi Hills.

Dinas Mawddwy (Welsh pronunciation: [ˈdiːnas mau̯ðʊɨ̯]; ) is a town in the community of Mawddwy in south-east Gwynedd, north Wales. It lies within the Snowdonia National Park, but just to the east of the main A470, and consequently many visitors pass the town by. Its population is roughly 600. The town marks the junction of the unclassified road to Llanuwchllyn which climbs up through the mountains to cross Bwlch y Groes at its highest point, the second highest road pass in Wales. This minor road also provides the closest access to the mountain Aran Fawddwy and is the nearest settlement to Craig Cywarch.

Minllyn quarry was a slate quarry near Dinas Mawddwy in Wales that opened before 1793 and continued working intermittently until 1925. The quarry is located on the western flank of Foel Dinas.

Mawddwy is a community in the county of Gwynedd, Wales, and is 88.3 miles (142.2 km) from Cardiff and 172.8 miles (278.0 km) from London. In 2011 the population of Mawddwy was 622 with 59.5% of them able to speak Welsh. It is one of the largest and most sparsely populated communities in Wales.

Foel Dinas is a mountain in Wales. It is the north-westernmost peak of the Dyfi Hills and sits above the town of Dinas Mawddwy. In the 1870s its eastern and northern slopes were planted with trees by Sir Edmund Buckley, the lord of the manor of Mawddwy. On the northern flank is Llyn Foel Dinas, a lake which was dammed to form a reservoir, providing the water supply to Buckley's manor house in Dinas Mawddwy. The southern shoulder of the mountain was the location of Minllyn quarry from the 1790s to 1925.

Pont Minllyn (also known as Pont-y-Ffinant or Pontrusk Bridge) is a bridge spanning the Afon Dyfi, north of the village of Mallwyd, in Gwynedd, Wales. It was built by John Davies, rector of Mallwyd between 1603 and 1644 and a famed Welsh scholar who wrote a Welsh grammar and worked on early Welsh translations of the Bible and the Book of Common Prayer. Pont Minllyn was designed as a packhorse bridge to facilitate the transportation of goods. It is a Grade II listed building and a Scheduled monument.

The Meirion Mill Railway was a narrow gauge railway that operated at Meirion Mill in Dinas Mawddwy, Wales. It only operated for three years from 1975 to 1977.

Pen y Brynfforchog is subsidiary summit of Glasgwm in North Wales forming part of the Aran range in southern Snowdonia.It is separated from Glasgwm by the pass, Bwlch y Fign. The summit is bare and marked by a few stones. The views to the Dyfi hills: include direct view of the Craig Portas ridge, with Maesglase and Cribin Fawr.

Drws-y-Nant railway station (Pron: Droos-a-Nant) in Gwynedd, Wales, was formerly a station on the Ruabon to Barmouth line. The station had two platforms with a passing loop, plus a small goods yard with a dock for loading livestock. According to the Official Handbook of Stations the following classes of traffic were being handled at this station in 1956: G, P, L & H and there was no crane.Part of the station survives today with two whole platforms, and a nearby crossing cottage. The station is visible from the road near the line.
