St Oswald's Church is in Bidston, an area of Birkenhead, Wirral, Merseyside, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. It is an active Anglican parish church in the diocese of Chester, the archdeaconry of Chester and the deanery of Birkenhead.

Bidston Hill is 100 acres (0.40 km2) of heathland and woodland containing historic buildings and ancient rock carvings, on the Wirral Peninsula, near the Birkenhead suburb of Bidston, in Merseyside, England. With a peak of 231 feet (70 m), Bidston Hill is one of the highest points on the Wirral. The land was part of Sir Robert Vyner's estate and purchased by Birkenhead Corporation in 1894 for use by the public.

The station is situated at the junction of the West Kirby branch of the Wirral line, which is part of the Merseyrail network, and serves as the northern terminal for the Borderlands line from Wrexham Central, operated by Transport for Wales.

Beechwood is a proposed railway station situated between Bidston and Upton on the Borderlands Line, to serve the Beechwood area of Birkenhead. According to the Core Strategy for Wirral report, compiled by the local council, Beechwood railway station is one of the council's long-term objectives. This was mentioned in Merseytravel's 30-year plan of 2014. The October 2017 Liverpool City Region Combined Authority update to the Long Term Rail Strategy mentions the station as being built between Network Rail Control Periods CP5 and CP7.The land for the station has been reserved by the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral's local planning authority, which considers the station to be justified by the size of the catchment population.

Beechwood is a housing estate in the west of Birkenhead, on the Wirral Peninsula, in Merseyside, England. Administratively it is within the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral as part of Bidston and St James Ward. The area is bounded by Bidston to the north, Upton to the west and Noctorum to the south. The elevation of Bidston Hill is immediately to the east. The estate was built in the 1960s as the Ford Estate and completed in the mid to late 1970s, to house people moving from the North End of Birkenhead and providing a better standard of living.Most of Beechwood is former council property, bought from Wirral Borough Council by local tenants who formed a community housing association. Some of the council houses have been sold under the Right to Buy scheme. The estate is the most northerly of three housing estates within a mile of each other, the other two being at Woodchurch and Noctorum. The estate is now separated into three sections, these being Upper Bidston Village, Beechwood and Greenfields. In recent years the estate has seen significant redevelopment of the former wooded area at 6th Avenue and through the demolition of maisonettes, tower blocks, Manor County Middle School and residential care homes (Feltree House and Esher House), with the construction of new affordable homes by private investors. At the 2011 census no population figures specific to Beechwood were available. However the total population of Bidston and St James Ward, which includes the estate, was 15,216.

It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Birkenhead, the archdeaconry of Chester, and the diocese of Chester. Its benefice is united with that of St Bede. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

The Kingsway Academy (formerly Wallasey School) was a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in Leasowe in the English county of Merseyside. Wallasey Grammar School in the Wirral area was first constructed on St George's Road. A picture was painted by Victorian artist John Henry Robinson (1852–1922) of the first school building, and another by Harold Hopps (1879–1967) In 1876 it moved to Withens Lane. It moved again to a site purchased from the Navy in 1911, moving its former premises on Flag Field. The site once occupied by the now defunct grammar school is now occupied by Liscard Primary School. A Technical College was opened next door in 1963. The grammar moved to Leasowe in 1967, and later became Wallasey Comprehensive School. Previously a community school administered by Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council, Wallasey School converted to academy status in February 2015. However the school had already been renamed The Kingsway Academy in September 2014. On 3 July 2017 it was confirmed by the school that it would close down in August 2018. The Kingsway Academy then officially closed on 31 August 2018.
