Maria Saal

The Pilgrimage Church of the Assumption of Mary (German: Propstei- und Wallfahrtskirche Maria Himmelfahrt), also called Maria Saal Cathedral (German: Maria Saaler Dom), is a Catholic church in the town of Maria Saal in Carinthia, Austria. Though not the see of a bishop, the church building is a renowned monument of Late Gothic architecture and one of Carinthia's most visited landmarks.

The Duke's Chair, also known as the Duke's Seat (German: Herzogstuhl, Slovene: vojvodski prestol or vojvodski stol), is a medieval stone seat dating from the ninth century and located at the Zollfeld plain near Maria Saal, north of Klagenfurt in the Austrian state of Carinthia.

Claudium Virunum was a Roman city in the province of Noricum, on today's Zollfeld in the Austrian State of Carinthia. Virunum may also have been the name of the older Celtic-Roman settlement on the hilltop of Magdalensberg nearby. Virunum (Virunensis) is today a titular see of the Roman Catholic Church.

Klagenfurt Airport (German: Flughafen Klagenfurt and occasionally Kärnten Airport, IATA: KLU, ICAO: LOWK) is a primary international airport near Klagenfurt, the sixth-largest city in Austria. It is located in the borough of Annabichl, 1.5 NM (2.8 km; 1.7 mi) north-north-east of the city centre.

Zollfeld (Slovene: Gosposvetsko polje) is a slightly ascending plain in Carinthia, Austria. It is one of the oldest cultural landscapes in the East Alpine region.

Annabichl Castle is a castle in Austria. It was built by the nobleman George Khevenhüller for his second wife Anna von Thurzo. Their daughter was Maria von Khevenhuller.The castle has a little chapel dedicated to Saint Anne and a garden. Archduchess Maria Anna of Austria (1738–1789) was an owner of the castle for some time.

The Sportzentrum Fischl is a soccer stadium in Klagenfurt. It has a capacity of 3,000 people. Currently the Red-Zac team FC Kärnten plays its home games in the stadium.

The Federal Gymnasium for Slovenes (Slovene: Zvezna gimnazija za Slovence, German: Bundesgymnasium für Slowenen) in Klagenfurt, the capital of Carinthia in Austria, is a public coeducational high school (gymnasium, similar to preparatory school) serving primarily community of Carinthian Slovenes.

City-Arkaden is a shopping centre in Klagenfurt, Carinthia, Austria. In terms of area, the centre is the second largest shopping centre in Carinthia, after Atrio in Villach, and is located at the northern edge of the centre of Klagenfurt. After a year and half of construction, City-Arkaden was opened on St. Velter Ring on 28 March 2006. Planning and construction of the centre encountered some resistance from a part of the population, who criticised the centre for failing an environmental impact assessment test and the neglect towards the southern part of the city centre during the construction. The 19th-century industrial buildings of Julius Christoph Neuner's leather factory had to be dismantled to make way for the centre. They had been empty for decades. The shopping centre consists of three floors with over 110 businesses, cafés and restaurants with a total shopping area of 30 thousand square metres. There are about 880 for-pay parking spaces on two floors. Two prevent traffic congestion, St. Veiter Ring was widened to four lanes in the area around City-Arkaden. Directly in front of the main entrance is the bus stop "Heuplatz" where the Klagenfurt city buses 40 and 41 stop every 7 to 15 minutes in directions of the Klagenfurt railway station, Annabichl and Feschnig. Of the businesses in City-Arkaden, 40 opened their first premises in Carinthia in the centre, 15 of them even their first premises in Austria. The shopping centre is managed by the ECE Group from Hamburg, Germany. The shopping centre is owned by Deutsche EuroShop. A similar shopping centre is also located in Wuppertal, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. However, the shopping centre in Wuppertal was not integrated into an existing building complex, but was built from scratch. Because of this it has a different selection of businesses and gastronomic services.

Klagenfurt Cathedral (German: Klagenfurter Dom; Dom- und Stadtpfarrkirche Hll. Petrus und Paulus) is the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Gurk-Klagenfurt and also the main parish church of Klagenfurt. It was built by Protestants and dedicated to the Holy Trinity in 1581, and was the largest Protestant church in Austria at that time.
