Quartz Hill High School is a public, co-educational high school located in Quartz Hill, California. Founded in 1964, it is the third oldest comprehensive high school in the Antelope Valley Union High School District.

Paraclete High School is a private Roman Catholic college preparatory high school in Lancaster, California, United States, affiliated with the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles. It was established in 1963. On May 24, 2011, Paraclete graduated its largest class yet with the Class of 2011, reaching 203 students.

Bethel Christian School (BCS) is a private, Baptist, Toddler-8th Grade Christian school in Lancaster, California. The school was established in 1979. At that time, the school, with 67 students and four teachers, used all of the facilities of the 4-acre (1.6 ha) church campus; the classrooms were initially located in Building 100. Building 200, the second phase of the school, was completed by September 1980. At that time the school had 150 students. The church and school purchased 5 acres (2.0 ha) of land adjacent to the original property, expanding the size of the property to 9 acres (3.6 ha). The church and school also acquired additional modular buildings, allowing expansion. The first senior class, consisting of six students, graduated in June 1989. In the 1990s BCS grew to well over 600 students.Bethel Christian School is accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), and by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

Students On Academic Rise (SOAR) High School is an early college high school in Lancaster, California. The high school is a joint project of the Antelope Valley Union High School District and Antelope Valley College. SOAR stands for Students on Academic Rise. The school was founded in 2006. SOAR integrates the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) college-preparatory program as a mandatory elective course for all grade levels. Throughout its history, the school has been served by three principals: Michael Dutton, Chris Grado, and Dr. Stephanie Herrera. Two SOAR High School students represented SOAR's InvenTeam at the 2015 White House Science Fair. Alumni have enrolled in Harvard, MIT, Columbia, Northwestern, Princeton, UC Berkeley, the University of Chicago, Stanford, UCLA, and many other four-year universities throughout the United States. Interested students must apply for the program by the annual February deadline, which can be found on the school's website. Applicants are then invited for an interview, and the admissions decisions are announced sometime in late spring. In 2022, SOAR opened a second campus on Antelope Valley College's Palmdale Center. The inaugural class of 75 students will graduate in 2026.

The only state prison located in the county, it is also referenced as Los Angeles County State Prison, CSP-Los Angeles County, and CSP-LAC. Only occasionally is the prison referred to as Lancaster State Prison, which was particularly avoided in 1992 partly to ease the stigma for Lancaster.

The Hangar, also known as Lancaster Municipal Stadium and formerly known as Clear Channel Stadium, is a baseball stadium in Lancaster, California, United States. From its opening in 1996 to 2020, the stadium was the home field of the Lancaster JetHawks, a now-defunct minor league team of the Advanced A California League. In 2005, Clear Channel Communications entered into a 10-year, $770,000 naming rights deal with the JetHawks and the City of Lancaster, who divided the revenue between them. The deal was planned to run through the 2014 season, but Clear Channel Stadium signage was removed in 2012. The stadium was then renamed The Hangar, its nickname since the stadium opened in 1996, as well as Lancaster Municipal Stadium. The Hangar is located near State Route 14 west of downtown Lancaster. The Hangar is currently serving as the home field of the Lancaster Sound Breakers, an independent baseball team of the Pecos League starting in May of 2023.

Antelope Valley Medical Center (AVMC) is a public hospital located in Lancaster, California specializing in acute care. It has 420 beds and is accredited by the Joint Commission. In March 2010 AVMC was declared one of the 14 trauma centers in Los Angeles County.

Highland High School is located in Palmdale, California and is part of the Antelope Valley Union High School District. About 4,000 students attend Highland High School in grades 9 through 12. It received a California Distinguished School award in 2005. Highland High School was founded in 1989 in response to Palmdale's rapid population growth. Palmdale High School was not large enough to serve the children of the new families moving into the Antelope Valley. Highland High School is now the largest high school under the Antelope Valley Union High School District. Sports Girls tennis, Boys tennis, Girls golf, Boys golf, Girls soccer, Boys soccer, Girls basketball, Boys basketball, Baseball, Softball, Football, and Swim. Highland High school most popular sport is football with many CIF championships including be the top team in the AV School District.

Leona Valley (Leona, Spanish for "Lioness") is a census-designated place located in the geographic Leona Valley of northern Los Angeles County, California, in the transition between the Sierra Pelona Mountains and Mojave Desert, just west of Palmdale and the Antelope Valley. The population was 1,607 at the 2010 census. Leona Valley is best known for its agriculture, particularly cherries and wine grapes. The town of Leona Valley holds its annual Leona Valley Cherry Festival in honor of its agricultural heritage.

The population of Lancaster has grown from 37,000 at the time of its incorporation in 1977 to over 157,000 as of 2019.
