In August 2020, eight artists painted a Black Lives Matter street mural in Salt Lake City's Washington Square Park, outside the Salt Lake City and County Building, in the U.S. state of Utah. The city had commissioned the painting with a contest "to support and memorialize the national movement to eliminate systemic racism".

The Utah Supreme Court is the supreme court of the state of Utah, United States. It has final authority of interpretation of the Utah Constitution. The Exchange Place Historic District in Downtown Salt Lake City, Utah, United States is a historic district that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. It included ten contributing buildings and three non-contributing buildings on a 6.2-acre (2.5 ha) area, with significance dating to 1903.Its oldest building in the NRHP nomination was the Federal Building and Post Office, which had been built during 1903–06. That building was renamed in 1990 as the Frank E. Moss United States Courthouse.In addition, the original nomination for the NRHP included the Felt Building (1909), Newhouse Realty Building (1917), Boston and Newhouse Buildings (1910), Federal Building and Post Office (1906), Salt Lake Stock and Mining Exchange Building (1908), Commercial Club Building (1908), New Grand Hotel (1910), Hotel Plandome (1905), and the now-demolished Hotel Newhouse (1912). The Sullivanesque Felt Building was designed by Richard K.A. Kletting, who designed many buildings around Salt Lake City such as the McIntyre Building farther north on Main Street and the Utah State Capitol. Other buildings included in the district boundaries today include the New York Hotel (1906), which today houses Market Street Grill, and the Judge Building (1907).

The First Security Bank Building in Salt Lake City, Utah, is a 12-story International Style commercial structure built in 1954. The building was designed by Wenceslao Sarmiento in consultation with W.G. Knoebel, chief designer for the Bank Building & Equipment Corporation of America, and local supervising architect Slack Winburn. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. Constructed for the First Security Corporation, the building was the first skyscraper built in Salt Lake City after the Great Depression. It was rehabilitated in 2004.The First Security Bank Building has been compared with the United Nations Building, the Lever House, and the PSFS Building because of its glass curtain and cubic shapes, asymmetrical composition, and lack of ornament.

The Salt Lake Stock and Mining Exchange Building in Salt Lake City, Utah, is a 2-story Classical Revival building designed by John C. Craig and constructed in 1909. The sandstone, brick, and cement building includes four large Ionic columns supporting a pediment above a denticulated cornice, and the pedimental imagery is reflected in lintels above the six central door and window fenestrations. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. It is also a contributing resource in the Exchange Place Historic District. The Salt Lake Stock and Mining Exchange Building was constructed on a site donated by Samuel Newhouse in 1908. Newhouse intended to develop a major financial center that would rival other exchanges in larger cities, and some members of the Salt Lake financial community did not support a shift from the 19th century roots of the exchange. During construction of the new exchange building, a competing exchange was organized and operated briefly in the Atlas Block (demolished) under the name, Utah Stock and Mining Exchange. The Salt Lake Stock and Mining Exchange occupied its new building from 1909 until the exchange became defunct in 1986. In 1972 the exchange was renamed the Intermountain Stock Exchange.

The Knutsford Hotel was an upscale hotel on the northeast corner of State Street and Third South (Broadway) in Salt Lake City, Utah. Historically, the site had been the location of the camp where the Mormons had planted their first crops.The Knutsford Hotel was built in downtown Salt Lake City in 1891. The architects were the Omaha-based firm of Mendelssohn, Fisher and Lawrie. The general contractors, also from Omaha, were Rocheford & Gould. The hotel was a 132-foot-by-132-foot Victorian-influenced structure built primarily of granite at a cost of $750,000. The hotel had 250 rooms and was advertised as being completely fireproof. The hotel's unique name was in honor of the owner's birthplace in Knutsford, Cheshire, England. Gustavus S. Holmes was a one-time owner and operator of The Knutsford. Holmes also owned The Angelus in Los Angeles, California and would often advertise the hotels together. In 1912, The Knutsford was remodeled and converted into The Auerbach department store. The building housed the Sears Roebuck company's department store from 1928 to 1933.The building was demolished in 1935 and replaced by new commercial buildings and a theatre.
