Newlands (Nuweland) is an upmarket suburb of Cape Town, South Africa. It is located at the foot of Table Mountain in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, and is the wettest suburb in South Africa due to its high winter rainfall. The neighborhood of Bishopscourt is situated to its south west, Claremont to its south east, and Rondebosch to its east and north east.

Kirstenbosch is an important botanical garden nestled at the eastern foot of Table Mountain in Cape Town. The garden is one of 10 National Botanical Gardens covering five of South Africa's six different biomes and administered by the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI). Prior to 1 September 2004, the institute was known as the National Botanical Institute. Kirstenbosch places a strong emphasis on the cultivation of indigenous plants. When Kirstenbosch was founded in 1913 to preserve the flora native to the South Africa’s territory, it was the first botanical garden in the world with this ethos, at a time when invasive species were not considered an ecological and environmental problem.The garden includes a large conservatory (The Botanical Society Conservatory) exhibiting plants from a number of different regions, including savanna, fynbos, karoo and others. Outdoors, the focus is on plants native to the Cape region, highlighted by the spectacular collections of proteas. It is a level IV accredited Arboreta by the ArbNet Arboretum Accreditation Program and The Morton Arboretum.

Wynberg Park, formerly known as King Edward Park, is a park situated in the southern suburb of Wynberg, Cape Town, South Africa.It was established by the Wynberg Mayor James Bisset, who obtained the land grant for it in the early 1890s.

Wynberg Boys' High School is a public English medium boys high school situated in the suburb of Wynberg of Cape Town in the Western Cape province of South Africa. Founded in 1841, it is one of the best academic schools in Cape Town, it is believed by scholars and old boys to be the second oldest school in South Africa, however, there are several schools that were established at earlier dates as far back as 1738.

The Grove Primary School is a school from pre-primary to Grade 7 in Claremont, Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa. There are about 720 pupils at the Grove and the acting school Head is Mr. Abe Louis.

Arderne Gardens is a public park and arboretum in Claremont, Cape Town, located in the Western Cape of South Africa. It was established by in 1845 by Ralph Henry Arderne, a timber merchant originally from Cheshire, England. In 1979, the park was named a South African Provincial Heritage Site. It is now a popular venue for wedding photographs. The 4.5-hectare park contains over 300 trees, six of which have been designated as Champion Trees by the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. The Moreton Bay fig near the park entrance is one of the largest trees in the country and is nicknamed the "Wedding Tree" by locals. The ponds in the garden are the source of the Black River which then runs underground beneath Main Road and the railway line before emerging as a canal. The garden is best known for the wide open lawn (sometimes called the "great lawn") surrounding a Norfolk Pine and a Japanese-style koi pond. Unlike nearby Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, the focus of the Arderne Gardens is the cultivation of exotic species.

Newlands Forest is a conservancy area on the eastern slopes of Table Mountain, beside the suburb of Newlands, Cape Town. It is owned and maintained by the Table Mountain National Parks Board, along with the City Parks Department of Cape Town, and includes a Fire Station, Nursery and Reservoir. The forest itself is a popular walking and jogging destination (See trail map below), close and easily accessible from the city's southern suburbs. Due to its location on the mountain slopes, there are impressive views eastward over the Cape Flats.

Cavendish Square is a shopping centre in Claremont, Cape Town. It was at the time the largest upscale centre to open in Cape Town and was a project of Stuttafords department store. Original tenants included a full-line Stuttaford's store, a Greatermans department store, whose space was later taken by Garlicks. The centre opened September 7, 1972.Current anchors include Woolworths South Africa, Cotton On, H&M, Mr Price, Pick n Pay, and Ster-Kinekor Theatres (Including a loyalty club and a D-Box cinema). It also hosts the Made in the Cape artisans market. The investment firm Old Mutual, through their subsidiary Old Mutual Property, are the current owners of Cavendish Square.

Claremont is a suburb of Cape Town, South Africa. It is situated 9 kilometres south of the city, and is one of the so-called "Southern Suburbs", it is situated alongside Lansdowne. It is an important commercial and residential area, which is currently experiencing significant growth and development.

Sans Souci Girls' High School is a Public English medium high school for girls situated in the suburb of Newlands in Cape Town in the Western Cape province of South Africa. The school was established in 1960 and was decreed by the apartheid era South African government as whites only school. In 1991 the school opened enrollment to all races as a model B school.One of the school's former teacher’s Denise Frick, is a South African chess master and winner of the 2015 South African Woman's Closed Chess Championships.

Wynberg Girls' High School is a public English medium high school for girls situated in Wynberg in Cape Town in the Western Cape province of South Africa. Founded in 1884, Wynberg Girls' High School is one of the oldest all-girls schools in South Africa. The first headmistress, Miss Margaret Stewart, was supported by two teachers and catered to 27 pupils. Initially a co-educational school, WGHS soon became an all-girls school and was known as Ladies' Seminary. WGHS is part of the Wynberg Campus of schools, along with Wynberg Girls' Junior School, Wynberg Boys' Junior School, and Wynberg Boys' High School. The school is located in Aliwal Road in the suburb of Wynberg.

Claremont railway station is a Metrorail station on the Southern Line, serving the suburb of Claremont in Cape Town. The station has three tracks, served by a side platform and an island platform; the station building is at ground level on the western side of the tracks. Adjacent to the station is major bus station of the Golden Arrow Bus Services and a large minibus taxi rank.
