Coolidge, Arizona

Randolph is a historically black populated place in Pinal County, Arizona, United States, located approximately 15 miles north of Picacho, and near Casa Grande. The community was named after Epes Randolph, a vice-president and general manager of the Southern Pacific Railroad, who founded the town in the early 1920s. Randolph wanted to establish a successful city near Casa Grande.: 9  On July 18, 1925, the Randolph Post Office opened, with Channing E. Babbitt as its postmaster. With the increased need for agricultural workers which arose in the late 1920s, hundreds of farm workers migrated to the area in the 1930s. Many of those who settled in Randolph were black migrants from Oklahoma. This influx created a community which was predominantly black.: 27  The post office closed in 1983.: 30 

Coolidge station was a train station in Coolidge, Arizona, served by Amtrak's Sunset Limited and Texas Eagle trains. Amtrak service to this station was discontinued in June 1996 when trains were rerouted to Maricopa. As of 2023, Amtrak is planning to restore train service to Coolidge on a route between Phoenix and Tucson. The exact station location has yet to be determined. In addition, the FRA indicated in February 2023 that it was studying a re-route of the Sunset Limited from Maricopa back to Phoenix as part of the Long-Distance Service Study ordered by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. It is not known if the Sunset Limited would again stop in Coolidge.

The Coolidge Woman's Club, at 240 W. Pinkley Ave. in Coolidge, Arizona, was built in 1928. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.It is a 67 by 34 feet (20 m × 10 m) adobe building, designed by Phoenix architect C. Lewis Kelley.It was the first building in Coolidge built for "public activities", and it "housed many civic groups and soon became the social center of the community."

Coolidge High School is a high school in Coolidge, Arizona which was established in 1939, and was renovated in 2005. It is located at 684 W. Northern Ave. It is one of two high schools under the jurisdiction of the Coolidge Unified School District. Coolidge High School shares its campus with Coolidge Junior High School.The original Coolidge High School built in 1939 and is located at 450 N. Arizona Blvd. The building now houses the offices of the Coolidge Unified School District #23.

Imagine Coolidge Elementary and Imagine Prep Coolidge are charte schools in Coolidge, Arizona. It is operated by Imagine Schools. The school recently became a full member of the Arizona Interscholastic Association.
