Agua Fria High School is a public high school in Avondale, Arizona, United States. Operated by the Agua Fria Union High School District, it is the first school built in the district and its only school until the establishment of Millennium High School in 1999. Established as Litchfield Park High School, it graduated its first class in 1932. In 1956, the school relocated to Avondale and became Agua Fria Union High School, named for the adjacent Agua Fria River. Agua Fria experienced continuous growth throughout the late 20th century, brought about by economic developments in the West Valley area and the completion of Interstate 10 and Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station in the West Valley. As of 2022, Agua Fria offers 23 varsity sports and various extracurricular activities to its 1,608 students. The school is majority Hispanic and Latino. A one-time Blue Ribbon school, Agua Fria is ranked 4,682nd nationally and 84th in Arizona by U.S. News and World Report.

It is a suburb of Phoenix and at the 2020 census had a population of 95,294, up from 65,275 in 2010 and 18,911 in 2000. It was the third-fastest-growing city in Arizona between 1990 and 2000.The city is home to the Goodyear Ballpark, where the Cleveland Guardians and Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball hold spring training. In 2008, Goodyear won the All-America City Award, sponsored by the National Civic League. The city is named after the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. The company cultivated extensive farmland here to grow cotton for use in its tires.

The Agua Fria Union High School District (AFUHSD) is a high school district serving Goodyear, Buckeye, Avondale, Waddell and Litchfield Park, Arizona. It was founded in 1955. The district has five high schools and operates a non-traditional program to allow students to recover lost credits.

Abrazo West Campus is an acute-care community hospital located in Goodyear, Arizona, United States. Abrazo West is part of the Abrazo Community Health Network chain of hospitals and is designated by the American College of Surgeons and the state of Arizona as a Level 1 Trauma Center. The hospital receives approximately 55,000 emergency patients annually.

Goodyear Ballpark is a stadium in Goodyear, Arizona (a western suburb of Phoenix) and part of a $108 million baseball complex that is the current spring training home of the Cleveland Guardians and the Cincinnati Reds. The stadium opened to the public with a grand opening ceremony on February 21, 2009, and held its first Cactus League spring training baseball game on February 25, 2009. The stadium complex is owned by the city of Goodyear and contains the main field with a seating capacity of 9,500 along with several practice fields and team offices. The main entrance of the stadium is modern and uses surfaces mimicking dark stained wood and polished metal. The entrance houses a team shop, several concession stands and is decorated with Guardians posters on the 1st base side and Reds on the 3rd base side. The entrance also has a third story terrace patio that can be rented for private parties or group tickets during games. Outside the main entrance, the concourse features a 60-foot 6 inch fiberglass statue titled The Ziz created by artist Donald Lipski. The main entrance structure does not interfere with the inside the stadium which is a single tier of seating. Free standing polished metal awnings with fabric shades provide shelter from the sun down the third base line. Bullpens are located off the field in left and left center field. There is a large scoreboard in left field with general admission seating on a grass berm at its base. A cinder block concession stand in center field is painted dark green to provide a backdrop for the hitters. Right field features a second grass berm and a patio seating area and bar. The patio and bar area, like the Terrace patio, can be rented for private parties. There are two large grassy concourses, and a Wiffle Ball field on the first base side of the stadium. Goodyear Ballpark replaces Chain of Lakes Park in Winter Haven, Florida, as the Guardians' spring training home, and Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota, Florida, as the Reds' spring training home. The stadium is primarily used for baseball but also hosts a variety of community events including the City of Goodyear's Star Spangled 4th and Fall Festival.

La Joya Community High School (LJ, LJCHS, or LHS) is a community high school located in Avondale, Arizona, US. It serves grades 9 through 12 and is part of the Tolleson Union High School District. Currently 2200 students are enrolled. Their Principal's name is Dr. William Sorenson. Currently the school is teaching students from 9th grade to 12 grade.

The Agua Fria River (Spanish for "cold water") is a 120-mile (190 km) long intermittent stream which flows generally south from 20 miles (32 km) east-northeast of Prescott in the U.S. state of Arizona. Prescott draws much of its municipal water supply from the upper Agua Fria watershed. The Agua Fria runs through the Agua Fria National Monument. The river then flows through a small canyon called "Black Canyon" into Lake Pleasant, a popular recreation area near Peoria, Arizona. (There is a large "Black Canyon" on the Colorado River along the Arizona–Nevada border.) During rainy weather and at times when water is flowing in the intermittent Agua Fria River, it discharges into the Gila River, which also only flows during wet periods of the year. The Central Arizona Water Conservation District of the Central Arizona Project operates the Agua Fria Recharge Project, which is about 4 miles (6.4 km) south of the New Waddell Dam. It serves to recharge underground aquifers in this area, and ends at Lake Pleasant, Phoenix.

Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is a public community college in Avondale, Arizona. The college has been serving the Southwest Valley community since 1990 and at the Avondale campus since 1992. Estrella Mountain is one of the ten Maricopa Community College District (one of the largest community college districts in the United States) that provides educational opportunities and workforce training to the burgeoning western metropolitan Phoenix population of more than 285,000 residents.

Desert Edge High School is a public high school in Goodyear, Arizona, United States. Operated by the Agua Fria Union High School District, it is the third school in the district. Construction on Desert Edge began in 2002. Designed by architect EMC2 Group, the school was constructed in two phases; the first was completed in 2002 by contractor Sun Eagle Construction, while the second was completed in 2005 by contractor Adolfson and Peterson Construction, who concurrently worked on Verrado High School. The campus was designed as a green building with design elements to reduce energy and water usage. Desert Edge opened in 2002 to a class of 138 freshmen. As of 2022, the school offers 15 Advanced Placement courses. The school's demographics largely consist of Caucasian and Hispanic and Latino American students. Desert Edge is ranked 6,197th nationally by U.S. News and World Report and 112nd in Arizona.
