The Shops at Sunset Place is an outdoor shopping mall in South Miami, Florida at the intersection of Dixie Highway (US 1) and Red Road (West 57th Avenue). The mall opened in 1999. It was owned by Federal Realty, Grass River Property, and Comras Company prior to 2021 acquisition by Midtown Opportunities. The Shops at Sunset Place is serviced by the Miami Metrorail at the South Miami station. The station is located across the street from the shopping mall on the corner of Sunset Drive and US 1. In 2014 the Shops at Sunset Place housed the Miami-area's only GameTime location. There was a Forever 21 across from a spot for a restaurant. A Splitsville Luxury Lanes and Dinner Lounge bowling alley was added in 2008. The largest tenant was a 24-screen cinema operated by AMC Entertainment with about 92,000 square feet (8,547 m2).Prior to the building of Sunset Place, the property was the site of The Bakery Centre, which opened in 1986 on the site of the old Holsum Bread Bakery. The Bakery Centre was a retail and office complex that included a 7-screen AMC Theatres multiplex. It was demolished in 1996. In October 2015, Simon Property Group sold the mall to Federal Realty, Grass River Property, and the Comras Company for $110 million.In January 2021 Midtown Opportunities acquired the Shops at Sunset Place for $65.5M, a $44.5 million loss for the sellers.

Larkin Community Hospital (LCH) is a for-profit 146-bed general medical, surgical and psychiatric teaching hospital. In the last year with available data, LCH had about 7,523 emergency department visits and 5,792 admissions. Physicians at the hospital performed 794 inpatient and 739 outpatient surgeries.LCH is the only hospital in Miami-Dade County with an Area of Critical Need designation by the Florida Board of Medicine. The hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).The hospital is part of Larkin Health System, an integrated healthcare delivery system accredited by the Joint Commission with locations in South Miami, Hialeah and Hollywood, Florida. The "Doc" Thomas House is a national historic site located at 5530 Sunset Dr., just east of South Miami, Florida in Miami-Dade County. Completed in 1932, it was the residence of Arden Hayes Thomas, who had moved to Dade County from Indiana to open a drug store in the 1920s.Thomas deeded the house and almost 2.2 acres of wooded property to Tropical Audubon Society in 1974. After his death on December 31, 1975, Tropical Audubon Society acquired the property; it has served as the organization's headquarters and a community resource since April, 1976. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 13, 2014.

The Coco Plum Woman's Club is a historic women's club located at 1375 Sunset Drive in Coral Gables, Florida. The club was founded in 1912 with eight members; it was named for the local cocoplum fruit. While the club was originally based in one of its members' houses, it built its own clubhouse in 1913. Its historic Mediterranean Revival clubhouse was built in 1926. The club participated in homefront efforts during both World Wars; its work with the American Red Cross during World War II was well-regarded within Florida. During peacetime, the club has served as a community library, a social venue for meetings and dances, a clinic, and a pre-school.The clubhouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 17, 2005. It is part of the Clubhouses of Florida's Woman's Clubs Multiple Property Submission. The building is currently used as an event hall as well as a clubhouse.

Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field is home field for the Miami Hurricanes baseball team at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. The stadium holds a capacity of 5,000 spectators and is located on the University of Miami's campus in Coral Gables. The first game on the field was held on February 16, 1973.The field is named for Mark Light, whose father, University of Miami fan George Light, donated money for its construction. Mark Light died of muscular dystrophy. and the field was dedicated in his honor in 1977. Following a $3.9 million contribution by New York Yankees all-star Alex Rodriguez, the facility was renovated from 2007–09 and renamed.In 2013, the Hurricanes ranked 26th nationally among Division I baseball programs in attendance, averaging 2,635 per home game.Since 1973, the University of Miami has been one of college baseball's elite with 25 College World Series appearances, winning four national championships (1982, 1985, 1999, and 2001) and advancing to the NCAA regionals a record 44 consecutive years. Miami has won 29 NCAA Regional Titles, hosted 27 NCAA Regionals, and in each of their four national championship runs they were an NCAA Regional Host.

Cobb Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium located on the University of Miami campus in Coral Gables, Florida. Cobb Stadium is home to the University of Miami's women's soccer and men's and women's track and field teams. The stadium was dedicated in 1999. It is named after former University of Miami chairman of the board Charles Cobb. The Cobb family donated the leadership gift for reconstruction of the track and soccer field. It is an eight lane rubber track with a soccer field inside the track, including four light banks and a 500-seat grandstand on its west side. The stadium is located on the University of Miami campus south of Hecht Athletic Center along San Amaro Drive in Coral Gables, Florida.

Our Lady of Lourdes Academy is a Catholic all-girls high school in the unincorporated community of Ponce-Davis in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. It has been managed by the Immaculate Heart of Mary since its 1963 foundation. In 2006, Our Lady of Lourdes Academy was named one of the Top 50 Catholic high schools in the U.S. by the Catholic High School Honor Roll. It has also been named a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence.

The Watsco Center (originally named the University of Miami Convocation Center) is an 8,000-seat multi-purpose arena on the campus of the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. University station is a station on the Metrorail rapid transit system at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. The station is located at 5400 Ponce de Leon Boulevard at the intersection of Dixie Highway (US 1) and Mariposa Court. The stop provides convenient transportation for University of Miami students, staff, and resident physicians traveling between the university's main campus in Coral Gables campus and the medical campus at the UM/Jackson Memorial Medical Center at Civic Center station in the Health District. It also offers direct access to Downtown Miami and Miami International Airport. Thes station opened on May 20, 1984.

The Hervey Allen Study (also known as the Glade Estates) is a historic site in South Miami, Florida. It is located at 8251 Southwest 52nd Avenue. On May 7, 1974, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. It was the home of novelist Hervey Allen.
