Pedmore

Stourbridge Junction is one of two railway stations serving the town of Stourbridge, in the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley in the West Midlands, England. It lies on the Birmingham to Worcester via Kidderminster Line and is the junction for the Stourbridge Town Branch Line, said to be the shortest operational branch line in Europe. The other station serving Stourbridge is Stourbridge Town at the end of the branch line.

Stourbridge is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2019 by Suzanne Webb, a Conservative Party politician. The seat was previously held by Margot James, a Conservative who lost the whip during September and October 2019.

The Pedmore High School is a mixed secondary school located in the Pedmore area of Stourbridge, West Midlands, England.The school opened in September 1939, it was to be called Pedmore Road School, but the use of road names for schools in Worcestershire was no longer policy and so opened as The Grange Secondary School, shortly after the Borough of Stourbridge being taken over by Dudley in September 1976 the school was changed to comprehensive status, and lost its sixth form, The name The Grange School remained in use until it changed to Pedmore Technology College in 2005, which was then again dropped in 2018 to The Pedmore High SchoolIt adopted the name "Pedmore Technology College and Community School" in September 2005 upon becoming a specialist Technology College. Expansion took place in 2007 to accommodate pupils transferred from the closing Cradley High School. It is the larger of the two schools in Pedmore, and has a variety of features including 2 sport halls, an assembly hall, 4 playgrounds, 2 football pitches, a canteen, Design & Technology block and swimming pool. As of 2018 the school became part of the Invictus Education Trust, joining with 5 other schools in and out of the Dudley area.

Old Swinford Hospital is a secondary boarding school in Oldswinford, Stourbridge, West Midlands, England that has been in continuous operation since the 17th century. It is one of 36 state boarding schools in England, meaning school fees are funded by the LEA and pupils only pay boarding fees. Girls are admitted into the sixth form as day pupils. Girls will be admitted from year 7 onwards in 2021.

Stambermill ( Stourbridge ) Viaduct is a viaduct situated in Stourbridge, West Midlands, England. It was constructed in 1850 to carry the Oxford Worcester and Wolverhampton Railway across the River Stour, and it carried passenger trains until 1964. It is still in use for goods trains, as the railway continues on to the Round Oak Steel Terminal at Brierley Hill (trains have not travelled beyond that point since 1993). Freight trains can still be seen passing over the viaduct. A reopening of the South Staffordshire Line between Dudley and Walsall, is expected to be ready by 2023, with West Midlands Metro trams sharing the line with freight trains. A business plan for the reopening of the line was submitted to Network Rail in March 2011. In January 2012, plans surfaced to run a passenger service between Stourbridge Junction and Brierley Hill, with stations being re-opened along the route, including Brierley Hill. The service would be operated by railcars built by Parry People Movers, who built the Class 139 units which run the Stourbridge Town service.The viaduct was subject to six weeks of maintenance and improvement works in September 2013.

It is said to be the shortest operational branch railway line in Europe.

Wychbury Ring is an Iron Age hill fort located on Wychbury Hill, near Hagley, Stourbridge, on the border of West Midlands and Worcestershire in the English Midlands.

Wychbury Hill is a hill situated off the A456 Birmingham Road, at Hagley, Stourbridge, on the border of West Midlands and Worcestershire. It is divided between the parish of Hagley and former parish of Pedmore. It is one of the Clent Hills. The hill offers good views across the Severn Valley as far as the Malvern Hills and Clee Hills. It is the site of Wychbury Ring - an Iron Age hill fort - and the Wychbury Obelisk , and is much beloved of pagans, with the site containing a 28-tree ancient yew grove, and not because the name sounds like "witch". The name is actually unrelated, being derived from that of the Saxon subkingdom of the Hwicce. On the flank of the hill is a folly in the shape of a Greek Doric temple, in fact a miniature replica of the end of the Temple of Hephaestus in Athens. Built in 1758, it was England's first example of Neoclassical architecture. The temple is currently in a seriously dilapidated and vandalised condition. It is a listed building on private land and permanently fenced off to the public. In 1999 the obelisk was defaced with graffiti referring to the unsolved post World War II mystery: Who put Bella in the Wych Elm? when the decomposed body of a woman was found in a nearby wood. The graffiti was not removed during the restoration of the obelisk in 2010.
