Marston is a village and civil parish 12 miles (19 km) south of Stoke-on-Trent, in the Stafford district, in the county of Staffordshire, England. In 2011 the parish had a population of 158. The parish touches Creswell, Hopton and Coton, Salt and Enson, Sandon and Burston, Stone Rural and Whitgreave.

Aston-By-Stone is a village and civil parish in the Borough of Stafford in Staffordshire, England. It is close to the town of Stone and city of Stoke-on-Trent. Circa 1870, it had a population of 625 as recorded in the Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales. Aston was recorded in the Domesday Book as Estone. Aston-by-Stone railway station closed in 1947.

Whitgreave is a very small village a few miles to the NNW of Stafford situated midway between the M6 motorway to the west and the A34 trunk road to the east. It lies about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) to the northeast of Great Bridgeford. The small village church of St John the Evangelist is of red-brick construction and was built in 1844, and is now a chapel of ease holding occasional services.

Aston-by-Stone railway station is a disused railway station in the village of Aston, Staffordshire, England.

Sir Graham Balfour School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in Stafford, England. It is named after Graham Balfour, son of the Victorian statistician, who became Director of Education in Staffordshire. The original school was demolished in 2001, with the new school building being constructed and completed in 2002. It achieved specialist Maths and Computing School status from September 2006. The school converted to academy status in September 2016. As of June 2021, the school is building a new set of classrooms, behind the sports hall, which will soon be where modern foreign languages (French, Spanish and German) will be taught. Sir Graham Balfour School also offers post-16 education. The sixth form is an integral part of the Stafford Collegiate which involves all Stafford High Schools and Stafford College. On 22 July 2016 David Wright retired as Head Teacher and Lesley Beck took over. In July 2022, Lesley Beck retired as Head Teacher and Mathew Mason took over.

Lichfield Road is a cricket ground in Stone, Staffordshire. The ground was established in 1948, when Staffordshire played Buckinghamshire in the grounds first Minor Counties Championship match. From 1948 to the present day, it has hosted 43 Minor Counties Championship matches.The first List-A match played on the ground came in the 1973 Gillette Cup between Staffordshire and Dorset. From 1973 to 2004, the ground played host to 13 List-A matches, the last of which saw Staffordshire play Lancashire in the 2004 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy. In July 1974, the ground played host to a match between the England U-19 cricket team and West Indian U-19 cricket team, which was the first U-19 match for both teams.In local domestic cricket, Lichfield Road is the home ground of Stone Cricket Club who play in the North Staffordshire and South Cheshire League.

Creswell is a small village on the north-western edge of Stafford, the county town of Staffordshire, England situated on elevated ground above the wide floodplain and extensive marshes of the River Sow. Population details taken at the 2011 census can be found under Seighford. The village, just to the west of the M6 motorway (junction 14), has a population of just a few hundred, although the parish boundary also incorporates the Primepoint business park on the other side of the motorway. The village also lies close to Doxey Marshes. The name Creswell is thought to come from Old English Cærsewella referring to the plant watercress (cærse in Old English and wella meaning spring or stream), meaning 'the spring where watercress grows.' A Neolithic polished stone axehead was found in a garden in Creswell in 1960, and about a quarter of a mile to the north-west are the ruins of an ancient chapel, or meeting house.

Holmcroft is the name of a Stafford, Staffordshire, England, residential estate approximately 1½ miles north of Stafford town centre, situated in a geographic area long recorded as "Tillington, Staffordshire." Holmcroft is also a Ward of Stafford Borough Council. Holmcroft Road was the name chosen by the council for the street that connects the residential area to the A34 Stone Road. Thus Holmcroft or Holmcroft Estate became part of the postal address. Even for estate homes not located on Holmcroft Road. The name means "croft by the island", from Old Norse holmr "island" and Old English croft "croft". The name was recorded as Holimcroft in 1183. The original Holmcroft Estate of private houses was built just before the war: c. 1934-39. A later phase, constructed c. 1946-49, known as Wimpey homes, after the name of the company that built them, were originally council owned. Many of the properties have since been sold by the council to private owners. For many years, the local infants school on Young Avenue was Holmcroft Primary School, later to be named Tillington Manor Primary School. There is a family pub on Holmcroft Road called The Holmcroft and a small shopping precinct nearby with a Co-op, barbers, pharmacy, Coral bookmakers, laundrette and library. A large hotel Tillington Hall Hotel was situated close-by on A5013 Eccleshall Road. It was demolished in 2021-22. The land is now planned to be used for a new housing project. Saint Bertelins Anglican church is also nearby.

Tillington is an area of Stafford, in Staffordshire, England. The area lies about 1½ miles north of the town centre. Essentially, the district lies within a triangle formed by Eccleshall Road, Stone Road and Crab Lane that narrows southward to a point where the two roads join at Foregate Street. Since records were first kept, the area has been recorded as Tillington. In more modern times, the geographic area comprises Tillington, Holmcroft and Trinity Fields as designated Wards of Stafford Borough Council, along with part of the parish of Creswell.

Stafford Common railway station was a former British railway station on the outskirts of Stafford. It was opened by the Stafford and Uttoxeter Railway in 1874 about seven years after the line opened. There was a single platform with a stationmaster's office and waiting room, but it included a goods yard and an engine shed. It became the headquarters of the line, to reduce dependence on the LNWR at Stafford station. The Stafford and Uttoxeter Railway was purchased for £100,000 by the Great Northern Railway in July 1881 and the line subsequently passed into LNER ownership with Railway Grouping in 1923. The original station was to the southwest of the Marston Road bridge (now Common Road). When the GNR doubled the line, the station was rebuilt on the other side of the bridge and bordering on Aston Terrace. It had two platforms and opened in 1882. The station buildings were on the bridge, timber throughout, with covered steps to the platforms where there were small shelters. Passenger services finished in 1939, though it remained open as Stafford Common Air Ministry Sidings until 1952. Both of the station's platforms remain in situ, albeit under vegetation, and the line through the station has been converted into a public footpath. From there the line climbed steeply at 1 in 70 before falling at 1 in 75 to Salt and Sandon.

Stone Priory was a priory founded at Stone in Staffordshire, England, in about 670 AD. The priory's church was dedicated to Saint Mary and Saint Wulfad, a local seventh-century martyr and supposedly a son of King Wulfhere of Mercia, who ruled from 658 until his death in 675. The mid-15th century Rimed Chronicle of Stone Priory, found at the Priory at the Dissolution of the Monasteries, records the founding legend and the names of the Stafford family patrons up to 1403, and the places of their burials.

Stone Meadows is a local nature reserve adjacent to Stone, in Staffordshire, England. There are three separate meadows by the River Trent. Goodall Meadow and Southern Meadow are reserves of Stafford Borough Council; Crown Meadow is a reserve of Stone Town Council.
