Saint Luke African Methodist Episcopal Church is a historic church at 900 New York Street in Lawrence, Kansas, United States. It was built in 1910 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. It is mainly a one-story building 43 by 90.5 feet (13.1 m × 27.6 m) in plan. It has two crenelated towers, one 34 feet (10 m) tall and the other 26 feet (7.9 m) tall.

The Eldridge House Hotel (often referred to as the Eldridge Hotel or simply the Eldridge) is a historic building located on Massachusetts Street, in downtown Lawrence, Kansas. The building is named after Shalor Eldridge, a prominent anti-slavery individual who erected the building in the mid-1800s. The building, as its contemporary name suggests, is currently used as a hotel.

The Lawrence Arts Center is located in Lawrence, Kansas, United States. It is a regional hub for visual and performing arts, contemporary exhibitions, film, and lectures. These programs are strengthened by fully developed curricula in ballet and modern dance, theater performance, and visual arts that observe National Core standards. It employs over 120 teaching artists, and hosts entrepreneurship, professional development and artist-in-residencies for artists across disciplines. It enrolls 10,000 students annually, offers a robust financial aid program and greets over 200,000 visitors and audience members each year.

The Bowersock Dam is a run-of-river dam on the Kansas River in Lawrence, Kansas. Constructed in 1874 to provide mechanical power, it now hosts the only hydroelectric plant in the state of Kansas. The dam, which is 655 feet long and approximately 17.08 feet tall, supplies water to two hydroelectric powerhouses, which have a combined installed capacity of seven megawatts. It impounds a 423-acre reservoir, which is used for recreation and as a water source for one of Lawrence's water treatment plants.

The Lawrence Public Library is a public library located in Lawrence, Kansas. It serves the City of Lawrence, and, through its membership in the Northeast Kansas Library System (NEKLS), all of the citizens of the NEKLS multi-county regional library system. The library was originally established as a subscription-based library in 1854, but changed to a free public library upon the donation of a new building by Andrew Carnegie in 1904. The Carnegie library was the main headquarters of the NEKLS and the main library in Lawrence until 1972 when a new modern library replaced it.

The U.S. 40 and 59 Bridges are twin multi-beam girder bridges over the Kansas River at Lawrence, Kansas. The west bridge carries two lanes of southbound traffic, connecting to Vermont Street, while the east bridge carries two lanes of northbound traffic from Massachusetts Street. Both bridges converge on the north end to become North 2nd Street. The east bridge is also the third bridge to be built at this location.

Massachusetts Street (often referred to colloquially as either Mass Street or Mass) is the main street that runs through the central business district of downtown Lawrence, Kansas. It begins just south of the Kansas River at Sixth Street and continues south until reaching Haskell Indian Nations University. The street was given its name by members of the New England Emigrant Aid Company, most of whom were from the state of Massachusetts. In 2014, Mass Street was named the most popular tourist attraction in Kansas by TripAdvisor. The 600 through 1200 block of Massachusetts is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places under Lawrence's Historical District. Most of the buildings were built between 1856 and 1953. Listed separately under the National Register are the Eldridge Hotel, the Douglas County Courthouse and Watkins National Bank (now Watkins Community Museum). Other listings along Mass Street but not located downtown are the Breezedale Historic District, the Goodrich House, the Edward House House, the Mackie House and the Roberts House (now the Castle Tea Room that was designed by Kansas State Capitol architect John G. Haskell). Other historic businesses and sites of interest along Massachusetts Street are Liberty Hall, the Free State Brewing Company (Kansas' first legal brewery in over 100 years), the Round Corner Pharmacy (which was the longest-running pharmacy in the state until closing in 2009), the House Building (the only downtown building to survive Quantrill's Raid), the Replay Lounge, the Granada (a former theater and popular music venue), South Park (a city park established when Lawrence was founded in 1854), and Liberty Memorial Central Middle School (located in a former high school built in 1923).

The S.T. Zimmerman House was built circa 1870 in Lawrence, Kansas by mill owner S. T. Zimmerman. The Second Empire house is unique in the area for its style. The two-story brick house features a square tower, arched window openings, a bell-cast mansard roof, and extensive wrought iron detailing. The exterior has seen little alteration. The interior is altered in places but substantially intact.The Zimmerman House was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on September 6, 1974.

The Granada Theater is a historic theater and concert venue located in Lawrence, Kansas.

Plymouth Congregational Church of Lawrence, Kansas is an affiliate of the United Church of Christ that was established in 1854, months after the Territory of Kansas was opened to settlement. The present-day church building, built in 1870, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.The architect was John G. Haskell who was among the architects of the Kansas State Capitol.

English Lutheran Church is a historic church at 1040 New Hampshire Street in Lawrence, Kansas. It was built in c.1870 and expanded in 1900. It was added to the National Register in 1995.It is a two-story church built of rusticated limestone on a limestone block foundation. It is about 46 by 78 feet (14 m × 24 m) in plan."Still woven into the threads of the downtown's built environment, the church is a proud reminder to our citizens that older buildings should be savored not only for their contribution to the past, but also for their potential contributions to the future." Cathy Ambler, Chair Historic Resources Commission It was built in Gothic Revival style in 1870 by pioneer Kansas architect John G. Haskell (responsible for many Lawrence landmarks as well as the Douglas County Courthouse and Kansas State Capitol). It was at one point slated for demolition, but after a 4-year legal dispute, was purchased by Ashlar LC and restored, through efforts of the Lawrence Historic Preservation Alliance and Kansas State Historical Society. Craig Patterson and Associates architectural firm rehabilitated it and adapted it to reuse as modern office space. On Nov. 6 1993, Governor Joan Finney ceremonially reopened the building to its new life. In 1995, it was placed on the National Historic Register. The building next to the old church is the original parsonage.
