Highland Park High School (Minnesota)

The Highland Park Water Tower is a water tower in the Highland Park area of Saint Paul, Minnesota, United States. It was designed by Clarence W. Wigington, the nation's first African-American municipal architect.: 334  The tower was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. It was completed in 1928 at a cost of $69,483.The octagonally-shaped tower, on the second-highest of seven hills in Saint Paul, is constructed of brick and cut Kasota and Bedford stone. It is between 127 and 134 feet high and holds 200,000 gallons of water in a steel tank. It is topped with an arched observation deck, open to the public on two special occasions per year (Highland Fest and the second weekend in October) for those willing to climb 151 steps. Beneath the observation deck, it is ornamented with carved downspouts and shields. The tower has been virtually unaltered since it was originally built.: 530  The Highland Park water tower service area of Saint Paul is bounded by Dayton Avenue on the north, Edgcumbe Road on the south and east, and Fairview Avenue on the west, but the tower is no longer in active service. At its highest point, the tower reaches 440 feet in elevation above sea level. Its width at the base is 40 feet, and its width at the top observation deck is 36 feet.

Highland Park is a neighborhood in the southwestern corner of Saint Paul, Minnesota, United States. Also known as Highland District Council (District 15), it lies along the Mississippi River just north of Fort Snelling and across the river from Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport. According to the 2000 census Highland Park had a population of 23,202.

The William and Catherine Davern Farm House is an Italianate farmhouse built in 1862 in Saint Paul, Minnesota, United States. It is one of a small number of surviving farmhouses in Saint Paul. William Davern was a member of the first territorial legislature. The house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Lubavitch Cheder Day School a.k.a. Chabad Lubavitch Jewish Educational Center is a Kindergarten through 8th grade Chabad Jewish day school with an attached 16 months through 5 year old preschool in Saint Paul, Minnesota United States. The school was founded in 1977 by shaliach couple Rabbi Moshe and Mindelle Feller, Mrs. Feller served as founding principal. The couple began the Upper Midwest Merkos-Lubavitch House in 1961. They used the basement of the Chabad house in the first years of the school before upgrading to a trailer and then the modern school building. A duplex was added on the property to house the day care and preschool, and a playground added between them. In the 2017–2018 school year, 100 children from ages 16 months through eighth grade attend the preschool and school. Enrollment has been steadily dropping, and as of 2021, was made up of 43 students. Today Rabbi Shlomo Bendet serves as executive director, Rabbi Yossi Bendet as director of development. The school runs intergenerational programming at a local senior center. The school is Co-ed with mixed classes in the younger grades, and separated classes for the older grades. Uniforms are required. The school is a member of JEM Foundation as well as Tzivos Hashem. The preschool and daycare, known as Gan Preschool has a maximum capacity of 37 children and license number 1112282 During the summer, the preschool runs a Junior Gan Izzy summer program.

The company sells its Mint Patties and Salted Nut Roll nationally and its Nut Goodie and Bun Bars products in several Midwestern states. Circus Juventas (formerly Circus of the Star) is a youth performing arts circus school located in Saint Paul, Minnesota, serving youth throughout the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area. The organization was founded in 1994 by Dan and Betty Butler, and offers circus arts training to young people ranging from 3 to 21 years old. Emulating the style of Cirque du Soleil, Circus Juventas's first show was at Saint Paul's Highland Fest in 1995. From there, the school's enrollment quickly expanded and the organization initiated a campaign to fund a $2.1 million permanent big top facility, which opened in 2001 on Saint Paul parkland in the Highland Park neighborhood. That year, it began to produce annual summer performances showcasing the work of its most advanced students, each with a distinct theme. These shows have proven popular with local audiences and have been well received critically, with reviewers praising the professionalism and fearlessness exhibited in the productions, while noting students' occasional missteps during performances. Circus Juventas students have performed and competed both around the Minneapolis–Saint Paul area and abroad. As of 2014, Juventas was the largest youth performing arts circus in North America. The school had tentative plans to add a second facility elsewhere in the region.

The school was established through a merger in 1969 of St. Paul Academy, a school for boys, and Summit School, a school for girls. St. Paul Academy was founded in 1900 and Summit School in 1917. Accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Central States, SPA is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools, the Cum Laude Society, and The College Board. Recent commencement speakers have included Al Franken, Wilhelmina Wright, Coretta Scott King, and Garrison Keillor.
