The Monument to the Battle of Monte Cassino (Polish: Pomnik Bitwy o Monte Cassino w Warszawie) is a monument in Warsaw, Poland located in the square between General Anders Street and the gates of the Krasiński Gardens near the National Archaeological Museum in the Warsaw Arsenal.

Ratusz Arsenał is a station on Line M1 of the Warsaw Metro, Poland, located under the Plac Bankowy (English: Bank Square) in the borough of Śródmieście. The station was opened on 11 May 2001 as the northern terminus of the extension from Centrum. On 20 December 2003 the line was extended further north to Dworzec Gdański. It takes its name from the Warsaw City Hall (Polish: Ratusz) located on the western side of the square. It is the closest station to the Warsaw Old Town and the Royal Castle. Before 29 December 2006 the name of the station was Ratusz, when it was renamed at the Government's request.

Warsaw Arsenal (Polish: Arsenał Królewski w Warszawie) is a building of a military arsenal in Warsaw, Poland. It is located at Długa street, in the proximity of the Warsaw's Old Town. Throughout the ages, the building served a variety of roles. It was the scene of heavy fighting during the Warsaw Insurrection of 1794. Currently, it houses the National Museum of Archaeology.

The Monument to the Soldiers of the First Polish Army (Polish: Pomnik Żołnierzy 1 Armii Wojska Polskiego) is a granite statue in Warsaw, Poland, located at Andersa Street, within the Downtown district. It is dedicated to the fallen soldiers of the First Polish Army, that fought on the Eastern Front of the Second World War. The monument was designed by Xawery Dunikowski and unveiled on 12 October 1963.

Państwowe Muzeum Archeologiczne w Warszawie is a museum located in the old Warsaw Arsenal in Warsaw, Poland. The museum was established in 1923 and has been in its current location since 1958.

The Warsaw Chamber Opera (Polish: Warszawska Opera Kameralna, WOK) is a Polish opera company founded in 1961 by Stefan Sutkowski, its managing and artistic director from its inception until his retirement in 2012. On 15 October 1986, the Warsaw Chamber Opera moved into its own theater at Al. Solidarności 76B. The historic building, built in 1777, was formerly used by the Student Theatre Satirical STS (Polish: Studenckiego Teatru Satyryków STS), and before that it was built as the first church in Warsaw of the Polish Reformed Church. The theater building has been entered into the register of monuments of the city of Warsaw.The repertoire of the Warsaw Chamber Opera presents many diverse musical styles and forms of works: from medieval mystery plays to the operas of the early and late Baroque opera, classic eighteenth-century pantomime, opera by Rossini, Donizetti, as well as works by contemporary composers.Warsaw Chamber Opera is known for its Mozart Festival, organized every year since 1991. Its repertoire includes all stage works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. It also organizes a festival for Gioacchino Rossini and Claudio Monteverdi and the Festival of Old Polish Opera.Although specializing in music of the past, they perform Polish contemporary works as well.

Fat Kaśka on Tłomackie is the popular name for a neoclassical well originating from the 18th century, located in Warsaw, at the middle of "Solidarności" Avenue close to the intersection with Generała Władysława Andersa Street. It was built in 1787 and designed by Szymon Bogumił Zug at what was then Tłomackim Square, in the center of the Tłumackie jurydyka. The building has the shape of a cylinder. It is decorated with rusticated panels and has a stepped roof crowned with a gilded ball. The well was one of the few water wells built at that stage in Warsaw. There was considerable fighting and destruction around it during World War II, notably during the Warsaw Uprising and the destruction of the adjacent Great Synagogue by the Germans in May, 1943. Immediately after the war, from 1947 to 1949, the road around it (then Leszno Street) was widening to create the major cross-street Warsaw W-Z Route. Despite all this, the building remained almost unchanged. A renovation in 2004 restored its original appearance, including exposing bricked up windows and strengthening its foundations.

Krasiński Garden Pond (Polish: Staw w Ogrodzie Krasińskich) is a small artificial lake in Warsaw, Poland, within the neighbourhood of Muranów in the Downtown district. It is located in the Krasiński Garden, and has an area of 0.1443 ha. The lake was formed between 1891 and 1895.

The Warsaw Ghetto Uprising was the 1943 act of Jewish resistance in the Warsaw Ghetto in German-occupied Poland during World War II to oppose Nazi Germany's final effort to transport the remaining ghetto population to Majdanek and Treblinka death camps. After the Grossaktion Warsaw of summer 1942, in which more than a quarter of a million Jews were deported from the ghetto to Treblinka and murdered, the remaining Jews began to build bunkers and smuggle weapons and explosives into the ghetto. The left-wing Jewish Combat Organization (ŻOB) and right-wing Jewish Military Union (ŻZW) formed and began to train. A small resistance effort to another roundup in January 1943 was partially successful and spurred Polish resistance groups to support the Jews in earnest. The uprising started on 19 April when the ghetto refused to surrender to the police commander SS-Brigadeführer Jürgen Stroop, who ordered the burning of the ghetto, block by block, ending on 16 May. A total of 13,000 Jews were killed, about half of them burnt alive or suffocated. German casualties were probably fewer than 150, with Stroop reporting 110 casualties [16 killed + 1 dead/93 wounded].It was the largest single revolt by Jews during World War II. The Jews knew that the uprising was doomed and their survival was unlikely. Marek Edelman, the only surviving ŻOB commander, said their inspiration to fight was "not to allow the Germans alone to pick the time and place of our deaths". According to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, the uprising was "one of the most significant occurrences in the history of the Jewish people".

In the best-known photograph taken during the 1943 Warsaw Ghetto uprising, a boy holds his hands over his head while SS-Rottenführer Josef Blösche points a submachine gun in his direction. The boy and others hid in a bunker during the final liquidation of the ghetto, but they were caught and forced out by German troops. After the photograph was taken, all of the Jews in the photograph were marched to the Umschlagplatz and deported to Majdanek extermination camp or Treblinka. The exact location and the photographer are not known, and Blösche is the only person in the photograph who can be identified with certainty. The image is one of the most famous photographs of the Holocaust, and the boy came to represent children in the Holocaust, as well as all Jewish victims.

The Krasiński Garden (Polish: Ogród Krasińskich) is an urban park in Warsaw, Poland, within the neighbourhood of Muranów in the Downtown district. It is located between Świętojerska, Andersa, Stare Nalewki, and Długa Street, and borders Krasiński Square to the east. The park was designed in Baroque style, and developed in 1676, as a garden complex of the Krasiński Palace. With the original area of 3.4 ha, it was the largest parks in Warsaw, until the opening of the Saxon Garden in 1724. In 1765, it was bought by the state, and turned into a public park opened in 1768. It was heavily redesigned between 1891 and 1895 by the main city gardener, Franciszek Szanior, and redeveloped in the style of an English landscape garden. After the end of the Second World War, it was enlarged to its current area of 11.8 ha. It was renovated between 2012 and 2014.
