Stockholm Municipality

The Stockholm tramway network forms part of the public transport system in Stockholm, the capital city of Sweden. Beginning with horse trams in 1877, the Stockholm tram network reached its largest extent in 1946. Many of the former suburban tram lines became parts of the Stockholm Metro between the years 1950-1964. In September 1967, in conjunction with the Swedish switch from left-hand to right-hand traffic, the last parts of the once large inner city street running tram network were closed. What little remained of the former network following 1967 were isolated suburban feeder lines to the Metro. However, in 1991 a 3 km (1.9 mi) long heritage line opened to the recreational area Djurgården; and in 2000, the non-radial half-circle line Tvärbanan opened with articulated low floor vehicles connecting an inner ring of Metro and commuter rail stations just outside the inner city proper, with subsequent extensions in 2003 and 2014; and in 2010 the heritage line was extended and converted to a regular service line.

RISE Innventia AB is a subsidiary to RISE Research Institutes of Sweden. The business focuses on research, development and innovation in the pulp and paper industry, packaging industry and the biorefining industry. The activities range from basic research to direct consulting and development assignments in the value chains with the final products bio-based energy, chemicals and materials, and packaging. Before April 2009 the institute was named STFI-Packforsk AB. Since the 1 April 2016, Innventia is owned by the Swedish government through RISE Research Institutes of Sweden.

R1 was the first nuclear reactor of Sweden. It was a research reactor located at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology campus at Valhallavägen in central Stockholm, in the rock beneath the current-day Q buildings. The reactor was active from July 13, 1954 to June 6, 1970. The reactor was dismantled, and there is nothing left of it today; the reactor hall however still exists.

The Swedish Defence University (Swedish: Försvarshögskolan, FHS) is situated on Drottning Kristinas väg 37 in Östermalm, Stockholm City Centre, next to the campus of the Royal Institute of Technology.

Odengatan is a major street in the districts Vasastan and Östermalm in central Stockholm. It is connected to Vallhallavägen, from where it passes Stockholm Public Library, Odenplan, Gustaf Vasa Church and Vasaparken up to S:t Eriksplan. The street's width is about 30 metres and its length is about 1850 metres.

Swedish Red Cross University (Swedish: Röda Korsets Högskola) is a Swedish university operated with the Swedish Red Cross Home Foundation as its accountable authority. It is not to be confused with The Swedish Red Cross. In addition to a degree in nursing, the institution also offers university courses related to the subject of nursing. The Swedish Red Cross School of Nursing was established in 1867 with Emmy Reppy as its first director. The Red Cross Home Foundation (Stiftelsen Rödakorshemmet) was formed in 1915 to provide training for nurses under the auspices of the Red Cross in Sweden, and follows the principles and values of the Red Cross. The Swedish Red Cross University (former Red Cross School of Nursing) is situated at Campus Flemingsberg in Stockholm since 2016.

The Saudi ambassador in Stockholm is the official representative of the Government in Riyadh to the Government of Sweden. With residence in Stockholm he is concurrently accredited in Oslo and Copenhague. In 2017, Swedish military exports rose by two percent, totalling 11.3 billion Swedish krona, of which exports to Saudi Arabia accounted for 7 million Swedish krona.

Tysta skolan ('The Silent School') was a private school for deaf-mute children founded in 1860 by educator Johanna (Jeanette) Berglind in Stockholm, Sweden. The name refers to the initial teaching method, which was described as the "write-sign method". From 1866 to 1910, the school was located on a property at Norrtullsgatan 51–67 in present-day Vasastan. It was then moved to Lidingö where it initially provided practical and theoretical continuing education for deaf-mute girls before being converted into a vocational school in the 1930s. The school moved back to Stockholm in 1947 where it continued to teach until its closure in 1971. The Tysta Skolan Foundation continues to exist and distributes the income from the funds in the form of scholarships and grants.

Lärkstaden (Swedish for "Lark City") is an urban area within the city district of Östermalm in central Stockholm, Sweden. The name originates from the large block "Lärkan" which used to dominated the area before the present buildings were built in 1907. Many of the blocks added at this time were given names such as "piplärkan" pipit, "tofslärka" (Crested lark), "trädlärka" Woodlark, and other bird names.Though the area has no official extent, it is said to be delimited by the streets Odengatan, Karlavägen, Valhallavägen, and Uggelviksgatan, if nothing else because of the contrast between the small-scale character of the neighbourhood and the blocks surrounding it.

Engelbrekt Church (Swedish: Engelbrektskyrkan) is a protected church located in the Lärkstaden area of Stockholm, Sweden. Its located at Östermalm and belongs to the Church of Sweden and is parish church for Engelbrekt Parish in the Diocese of Stockholm. It was designed by architect Lars Israel Wahlman in the National Romantic style and completed in 1914. It is one of the largest churches in Stockholm, with 1,400 seats.In the spirit of romantic nationalism, the church was named after Engelbrekt Engelbrektsson – a Swedish 15th century rebel leader and national hero. It was built atop a hill in the years 1910–14, after a design competition held in 1906. The rock on which the church is standing was left mostly intact, in accordance to the urban planning ideals at the time, giving it a naturally elevated position in the city.The building has some features common to Byzantine architecture and has a cruciform architectural plan with a 32 m (105 ft) high nave, making it the highest in Scandinavia. Internationally appreciated in architectural circles, the church has not been subjected to any major changes since its inauguration and is regarded as a paragon of the Swedish Art Nouveau era and the National Romantic style.

Stockholm East Station (Swedish: Stockholms östra station) or Stockholm Ö is a railway station on the Roslag Railway in Stockholm, Sweden. The present station was inaugurated in 1932 and located on Valhallavägen in northeastern central Stockholm, close to the Royal Institute of Technology (Tekniska Högskolan), replacing an older provisional station from 1884 which was located some hundred metres to the north. Originally, the building had the offices of SRJ, the company owning and managing the Roslag Railway. There are still offices in the building for the company which is operating the traffic at present. The building also includes a restaurant, which has the same interior as when the building was new, something which is appreciated by the customers. The restaurant is well known as a place where supporters of sports club Djurgårdens IF like to go, as it is relatively close to the Stockholm Olympic Stadium, the classic former home field of Djurgårdens IF football team.It is located in conjunction with the Stockholm metro station Tekniska högskolan. It is now the southern end station of the Roslag Railway. Earlier, some trains continued on a tram line to Engelbrektsplan next to Humlegården. The station makes up the background in the 2011 Swedish movie Stockholm Östra, starring Mikael Persbrandt and Iben Hjejle.

Engelbrekt Parish (Swedish: Engelbrekts församling) is a parish in Östermalm's church district (kontrakt) in the Diocese of Stockholm, Sweden. The parish is located in Stockholm Municipality in Stockholm County. The parish forms its own pastorship.
