Woking Palace

Papercourt Marshes is a 10-hectare (25-acre) nature reserve in the south-east of the borough of Woking in Surrey. It is managed by the Surrey Wildlife Trust. A roughly 50 hectares (120 acres) lake and associated surrounds, including the marshes totalling 20.0 hectares (49 acres) is designated a biological Site of Special Scientific Interest as Papercourt.This site has a variety of wetland habitats with marshes, unimproved meadows, streams and flooded gravel pits. More than seventy species of birds breed on Papercourt and ninety species winter there.The stream, and banks are rich in flora such as greater sweet-grass, reed canary grass and red pondweed.Access is limited to Papercourt Sailing Club, chosen ecologists and ornithologists.

St Peter's Church is situated in Old Woking, Surrey, England. It is recorded in the Domesday Book. It also has the third oldest surviving door in the British Isles. It also has the oldest door in Surrey.

Hoe Bridge School is an independent co-educational, pre-prep and prep school in Woking, England. At its last full inspection in 2014 it was rated excellent by the Independent Schools Inspectorate. The school was established in 1986 following the merger of two former proprietorial boys schools, Allen House and St Michael's School. In 1987 it became a charitable trust administered by a board of governors, and developed to include girls up to Year 6 in 1999. The school is based in a seventeenth century house and is set in its own grounds in Woking, Surrey.

Old Woking is a ward and the original settlement of the town and borough of Woking, Surrey, about 1.3 miles (2.1 km) southeast of the modern town centre. It is bounded by the Hoe Stream to the north and the River Wey to the south and between Kingfield to the west and farmland to the east. The village has no dual carriageways or motorways, its main road is the A247, which connects Woking with Clandon Park and provides access to the A3. The village contains parts of Woking's two largest parks and two converted paper mills. The expanded village largely consists of semi-detached houses with gardens and covers an area of 224 hectares (550 acres) To the east of Old Woking's developed cluster are the ruins of Woking Palace which was the local manor house and a royal dwelling throughout the Tudor dynasty.

Send is a village and civil parish in the Guildford borough of the English county of Surrey. Send acquired its name during the Great Vowel Shift from the word sand, which was extracted at various periods until the 1990s for construction and other purposes at pits in the outskirts of the parish. The north of Send is at the southern-eastern edge of the Bagshot Formation. Send is buffered by Metropolitan Green Belt from other villages and towns except for the Grove Heath neighbourhood of Ripley. A rural band of the village adjoins the River Wey including Cartbridge and Send Marsh – this land has been drained and the river tamed by sluices, the Broadmead Cut and the Wey Navigation. The vast majority of the built-up areas are not within an area of flood risk. Between the river and the navigation, in the far north of the parish, are the Papercourt and Broad Mead SSSIs.

Newark Priory is a ruined priory on an island surrounded by the River Wey and its former leat (the Abbey Stream) near the boundary of the village (parish lands) of Ripley and Pyrford in Surrey, England.

White Rose Lane is a 3.4-hectare (8.4-acre) Local Nature Reserve in Woking in Surrey. It is owned and managed by Woking Borough Council.This site is damp alder woodland in two areas on the north bank of the Hoe Stream. There are several species of rare fungi and fauna include owls, bats, deer and frogs.There is access from the road called White Rose Lane.

Pyrford is a village in the borough of Woking in Surrey, England. It is on the left bank of the River Wey, around two miles (three kilometres) east of the town of Woking and just south of West Byfleet; the M25 motorway is northeast of the edge of the former parish. The village sits on raised mixed heath soil, and has historical links with the abbey at Westminster, in whose possession it remained between the Norman conquest in 1066 and the Dissolution of the Monasteries nearly five hundred years later.

Woking College is a sixth form college in Woking with over 1,400 16-19-year-olds studying A Levels and advanced vocational courses. The college attracts students from over 50 schools. For students who need to top up their GCSE grades there are courses in English, maths and biology. Facilities include a sports centre, gym and playing fields, a 140-seat theatre and dance studio, an arts block, and a science building.

St John the Baptist School is a coeducational Catholic secondary school and sixth form in Woking, Surrey, England. The school was one of the first 100 designated teaching schools in the UK.

St Dunstan's Church is a Roman Catholic Parish church in Woking, Surrey. At first it was built in 1899, replaced by a larger church in 1923 and its final form was built in 2008. The church was dedicated that year by the Bishop of Arundel and Brighton and Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor. It is set back in its own plot from Shaftesbury and Pembroke Roads within a mile of the town's centre. It is the only Catholic church in the town and is the centre of the deanery of Woking in the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton.

Sheerwater is a residential neighbourhood or small suburb of Woking, in the Woking district in Surrey, England, occasionally described as a village, between West Byfleet and Horsell. Its border is defined to the north by a gently winding part of the Basingstoke Canal and to the south by the South West Main Line which passes from cutting level to that of an embankment. The neighbourhood has a business park and light industry at its south-western end. The whole area is linear, includes diverse green spaces to north and south, and covers 92 hectares (230 acres).
