Durbach

The Brandeckkopf is 686.1 m above sea level (NHN), and the highest mountain in the borough of Offenburg. At 686.1 metres above sea level, the Brandeckkopf is the highest mountain of Offenburg. It is located within the Zell-Weierbach district. The Brandeckturm, an observation tower, stands at the summit. The mountain is said to have been given its name by the Celts, who brought burnt offerings here. The mountain lies within the 1897 hectare Brandeck landscape protection area.

Appenweier station is a railway station in the municipality of Appenweier, located in the Ortenaukreis district in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It sits at the eastern end of the Appenweier–Strasbourg railway, whose western end, at Strasbourg, is in France.

Ohlsbach (Low Alemannic: Ohlschbach) is a town in the district of Ortenau in Baden-Württemberg in Germany.

Ortenberg Castle is the main landmark of the Ortenau and is situated above the town of Ortenberg at the end of the Kinzig Valley between Offenburg and Gengenbach. The origins of the Ortenau Castle can be traced back to the 11th/12th century. The castle was built by the House of Zähringen to protect the Kinzig Valley. Today, there is a youth hostel in the castle.

Offenburg used to be a railway town and the station was of major economic importance to it. In recent years the maintenance facilities and much of the rail freight yards have been closed. The station is very centrally located within the city and is easily accessible by 18 different bus routes from the central bus station, 50 metres from the railway station.

The University of Applied Sciences Offenburg, with its head office in Offenburg and a branch in Gengenbach, is a German university owned by the state of Baden-Württemberg.
