Altbach (Swabian: Albach) is a municipality in the district of Esslingen in Baden-Württemberg. It belongs to the Stuttgart Region. (until 1992 Region Mittlerer Neckar) and the European Metropolitan Region Stuttgart.

Schnait is a town district or Stadtteil within the town of Weinstadt ("Wine City") in Rems-Murr district, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Schnait was first mentioned in 1238 as Snait. It belonged to the Oberamt Schorndorf. In 1938 it became part of the district Waiblingen. Since 1973 Schnait belongs to the Rems-Murr-Kreis. On January 1, 1975 the municipality of Schnait united with the then-independent municipalities of Beutelsbach, Endersbach, Strümpfelbach and Großheppach, to form the new municipality Weinstadt.

Altbach Power Station is a coal-fired power plant owned and operated by EnBW at Altbach, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It has an output capacity of 1,036 MWe, 783MW being coal fired divided amongst two 420-30MW units and 253MW of gas fired capacity divided amongst four units ranging from 53-85MW. The power station is also connected to the Mittlerer Neckar district heating system.The first power plant on the Altbach site was built in 1899. The precursors of the current power plant went into service in 1950 (unit 1) and in 1956 and 1958 (units 2 and 3). Unit 1 was shut down in 1982 and demolished in 1985. Units 2 and 3 were shut down and demolished in 1993.Unit 1 was replaced by a new unit in 1985 and units 2 and 3 by a new unit in 1997. Both units have 250 metre tall chimneys.Unit 1 from 1985 received architectural landmark status in November 2021. Like the visitor center and the new Unit 2, it is the work of the German Architect Gerhard Feuser of the group Angerer & Feuser.The power station also features a forced draft cooling tower which is used to cool the remaining water not used in the heating system.

Beutelsbach is a town district or Stadtteil within the town of Weinstadt ("Wine City") in Rems-Murr district, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The Stadtteil has a population of 8,464 (as of March 31, 2010) and an elevation of 236 m above sea level.

Deizisau (Swabian: Deizisao) is a town in the district of Esslingen in Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany. It belongs to the Stuttgart Region (until 1992 Region Mittlerer Neckar) and the Stuttgart Metropolitan Region. Deizisau is located between the towns of Plochingen and Esslingen am Neckar, about 20 kilometers southeast of Stuttgart, the capital of Baden-Württemberg. The river Neckar flows through this town.

The Railway depot Plochingen (dt. Bahnbetriebswerk Plochingen) (short form: Bw Plochingen) is a depot of the DB Regio AG in Plochingen. The depot is located west of the railway station next to the railway tracks leading to Stuttgart and can be reached from the road via the access road to the Neckarharbor. It is responsible for the maintenance of the Trains of the S-Bahn Stuttgart. Furthermore, it also looks after multiple units of the Regionalverkehr Württemberg. The current depot with the Stuttgart S-Bahn was opened in 1978, after the roundhouse of the old Plochingen depot had been located at about the same place.

Körsch (German: [kœʁʃ] ; in its upper course: Sindelbach) is a river of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is a left tributary of the Neckar at Deizisau.It is the second largest waterbody in Stuttgart and is formed at the convergence of the right Sindelbach and the left Aischbach in Stuttgart-Möhringen. After almost 27 km on the Filder it flows into the Neckar between Esslingen am Neckar and Deizisau.

Plochingen station is the only station in the town of Plochingen in the German state of Baden-Württemberg and the most important railway junction of the Esslingen district. It is located 22.8 kilometres from Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof on the Fils Valley Railway and at the beginning of the Plochingen–Immendingen railway.

Plochingen (Swabian: Blocheng or Blochenga) is a town in the district of Esslingen in Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany. It lies on the river Neckar, on which it has a river port. With about 14,000 inhabitants, it is part of the Stuttgart Metropolitan Region.

The Hundertwasser House Plochingen "Living under the Raintower" is a house designed by the Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser (1928-2000) co-designed building in the German City Plochingen. It was built from November 1991 to August 1994.
