Irving Mall

Sowers is a ghost town located approximately 11 miles northwest of Dallas, Texas in Dallas County. Today, the once rural community is located entirely within the boundaries of Irving, Texas. Of the original townsite, only the cemetery remains.

The Islamic Center of Irving (ICI) is a mosque and Islamic community center established and registered as a non-profit 501(c) organization in 1991 in Irving, Texas, USA.

Islamic School of Irving (ISI) is a prekindergarten through grade 12 Islamic school in Irving, Texas, in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. As of August 2022 it had 775 students. It opened with kindergarten students on October 21, 1996.

The Chateau Theater (not to be confused with Minnesota's more historic Chateau Theatre) opened in 1964 as part of a chain of premium, dollar, and drive-in theaters that stretched across North Texas and Oklahoma, owned and operated by entrepreneur, cameo star of 1980s slasher film Honeymoon Horror and (alleged) former Golden Gloves boxer Jerry Meagher. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Meagher's theaters suffered setbacks and closures until the Chateau was the last of his franchise: a three-screen dollar theater operating in the Plymouth Park strip mall in Irving, Texas. Threatened by waning attendance, particularly following the opening of the high budget Starplex Cinemas just blocks away from the Chateau's location, the theater eventually sold to former Nortel Networks engineer Jaipal Reddy, who rebranded it as the Everest Theater (and later FunAsia) and maintained a dedicated Bollywood film lineup.Though little information or artifacts remain on any of Meagher's theaters, a small scrap from the chain's late November, 1976 newspaper advertisement can be seen in Errol Morris's film The Thin Blue Line, the events of which take place in part at Meagher's long since demolished 183 Drive In. As of November 2020, the Chateau Theater has been demolished.

West Irving station is a Trinity Railway Express commuter rail and bus station in Irving, Texas. It is located at Jackson Street near Esters Road and served Irving Mall with connecting bus service to Las Colinas and North Lake College. It opened on November 13, 2000. Unlike many rail stations, West Irving does not have an indoor heating/cooling facility, nor does it have a station attendant. However, it does have passenger shelters for bus and TRE riders. After the DART bus network redesign effective January 24, 2022, the rail station no longer has any bus service.

The Ruth Paine Home at 2515 W. 5th Street in Irving, Texas, United States, is the location where Lee Harvey Oswald spent the night before he assassinated United States President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963, at Dealey Plaza. It was from the house's garage that he removed the rifle he used for the assassination, which he had previously concealed there. The house was placed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in November 2014.

The Irving Arts Center, located in Irving, Texas, is a 10-acre art center that caters to all ages within the community. The center contains over 91,500 square feet of performing and visual arts space which includes a 3,800 square-foot Main Gallery. The Main Gallery host over 20 exhibits throughout the year. In 2007, the art center became an affiliate with the Smithsonian Institution, which makes the Irving Arts Center one out of 160 Smithsonian Affiliates nationwide.The 10-acre center features theaters, classrooms, reception halls, a sculpture garden and other areas for the community. Irving Arts Center features four galleries that are free and open to the public. They host a variety of artwork from local and regional artists, along with traveling shows from the Smithsonian Museum and other affiliates around the country.

StoneGate Christian Academy (SGCA) is a private Christian school educating students entering high school, elementary and pre-school. It opened as a ministry of the Shady Grove Church in 1976 and became an independent 503(c) organization in April 2005. They are located near Highways 183 and 161 in Irving, Texas.

MacArthur High School is a public high school in Irving, Texas. Opened in 1963, it is named for the American General of the Army Douglas MacArthur. In 2010, the school was rated "Academically Recognized" by the Texas Education Agency.

North Lake Early College High School, also known as North Lake Collegiate Academy, is a public high school located in Dallas County, Texas and operated by the Dallas Independent School District (DISD). It has a campus for 9th and 10th grade students at the main campus at North Lake College in Irving and will have a campus for 11th and 12th grade students in the future. Under Texas law, DISD can have operations, including schools, outside of its own boundaries, and North Lake College is not in the DISD boundaries. The school opened with grade 9 students in 2019 and will expand by one grade level per year.

Dallas College North Lake Campus (often referred to as North Lake or NLC) is a public community college in Irving, Texas. It is part of Dallas College. It opened in 1977 and enrolls about 5,000 credit students and an additional 3,000 continuing education students.

Jack E. Singley Academy (formerly The Academy of Irving ISD) is a career-oriented public high school in Irving, Texas, United States. The school is a part of the Irving Independent School District. The Academy grants admission to students through a non-merit based selection process, which requires applying to the school during the spring semester of their 8th grade year. Students who are not selected may reapply their 9th and 10th grade years. In 2009, 2010 and 2011 the school was rated "recognized" by the Texas Education Agency.
