York Theatre is an Off-Broadway theatre company based in East Midtown Manhattan, New York City. In its 50th year, York Theatre is dedicated to the production of new musicals and concert productions of forgotten musicals from the past. Each season consists of three or four mainstage productions, six or more concert presentations and dozens of developmental readings. It has had several transfers of its work to larger off-Broadway theatres and to Broadway. The company was awarded a special Drama Desk Award in 1996 to its artistic director Janet Hayes Walker and in 2006 for its "vital contributions to theater by developing and presenting new musicals". After Walker's death in 1997, the company has been run by James Morgan. Since 1993 the company has performed in a part of St. Peter's Church, in the Citigroup Center at 619 Lexington Avenue at the corner of East 54th Street.

The Embers was a 1950s and 1960s-era New York City restaurant and nightclub formerly located at 161 East 54th Street between 3rd and Lexington Avenues. It was opened in late 1951 by former jazz musician Ralph Watkins, who had also been involved with clubs such as Bop City and Royal Roost, and featured many notable jazz acts over the years, including Marian McPartland, Dorothy Donegan, Joe Bushkin, George Shearing, Jonah Jones, Red Norvo, George Barnes and Carl Kress, and the Erroll Garner Trio. In 1964, they made Sunday nights into a time to showcase new talent.

El Morocco (sometimes nicknamed Elmo or Elmer) was a 20th-century Manhattan nightclub frequented by the rich and famous from the 1930s until the decline of café society in the late 1950s. 599 Lexington Avenue is a 653 ft (199m) tall, 50-story skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, designed by Edward Larrabee Barnes/John MY Lee Architects. It was the first building constructed by Mortimer Zuckerman and his company Boston Properties in New York City. The site was acquired for $84 million in 1984, and completed in 1986. The building is adjacent to the Citicorp Tower and is considered a well-designed contextual partner to the area. The entryway to the Lexington Ave. subway with glass shed roof, was an homage to the Citicorp Tower roof. It is tied with both of the Silver Towers as the 89th tallest building in New York City. The lobby contains Frank Stella's Salto nel Mio Sacco. The property also contains an entry to the Lexington Avenue/51st Street station of the New York City Subway, served by the 6, <6>​​, E, and ​M trains. The building was completed without an anchor tenant.In 2016, FXFowle Architects completed a remodel of the interior lobby, hallways, and elevators to better light the Stella artwork and brighten the lobby space. Central Synagogue (Congregation Ahawath Chesed Shaar Hashomayim; Yiddish: צענטראַל-סינאַגאָגע) is a Reform synagogue located at 652 Lexington Avenue, at the corner of East 55th Street in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. It was built in 1870–1872 and was designed by Henry Fernbach in the Moorish Revival style as a copy of Budapest's Dohány Street Synagogue. It has been in continuous use by a congregation longer than any other in the state of New York, except Congregation Berith Sholom in Troy, New York, and is among the oldest existing synagogue buildings in the United States.The building was designated a New York City landmark by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission in 1966, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970. It was then designated a National Historic Landmark in 1975.

Jimmy Weston's Restaurant & Jazz Club was an American restaurant and jazz club in New York City, located on East 56th Street beginning in 1963, then, seven years later, moved it to 131 East 54th Street. Tommy Furtado was selected as the house musician and maintained that position until the club closed twenty years later. Its owner, Jimmy Weston (James L. Weston; 1922–1997), closed it in 1989. The New York Times obituary for Weston stated "Given the restaurant's high-level clientele, it was inevitable that it served as a backdrop for social history. It was at Weston's that Mr. Sinatra patched up his feud with Liz Smith, and Howard Cosell got the call from Roone Arledge telling him he had been picked for a daring new idea called "Monday Night Football."

Monkdogz Urban Art is an art gallery in Chelsea, an art district of New York City. The gallery was founded in 2006 by co-owners Marina Hadley and Robert Hogge. The principal focus of Monkdogz is to discover and showcase contemporary emerging artists from around the world working in the different media of painting, drawing sculpture, photography, video and prints. In its first two years of opening, the gallery exhibited over 170 artists from 35 countries. In September 2008, Monkdogz exhibited a solo show by French Artist Jean Marc Calvet, represented by Monkdogz, which will be part of a biographical feature documentary by award-winning director and producer Dominic Allan currently being filmed, titled “Calvet”. Managing Editor of Gallery & Studio Magazine, Ed McCormack wrote: “…the artists assembled under the Monkdogz banner make an auspicious debut and suggest a much needed shot in the arm for postmodern, post-movement art.” Monkdogz Urban Art Inc. also maintains an International Art Network of over 2000 artists. It is a free web network designed for the International arts community, allowing artists from around the world to exhibit their work and link their own websites.
