Canyon Hills High School (San Diego)

Tierrasanta, Spanish for "holy land," or "holy ground", is a community within the city of San Diego, California. The symbol of Tierrasanta is an encircled Conquistador cross, similar to one atop Montserrat (mountain) near Barcelona, Spain, though it no longer holds any religious meaning. The community is referred to as "The Island in the Hills" by locals and on welcome signs, as there are only four roads that lead to Tierrasanta, all which end within the community.

The Jewish Federation of San Diego County (officially United Jewish Federation of San Diego) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose primary function is to broker fundraising and volunteer work in support of Jewish causes within the San Diego Jewish community. It also works in partnership with various affiliated organizations, who share a similar mission in supporting Jewish causes nationally and internationally, including the Jewish Federations of North America. The organization was incorporated on February 3, 1939.In addition to brokering funds, the Jewish Federation of San Diego County facilitates access to social services; local synagogues, day schools, and camps; and other charitable and advocacy groups within the Jewish community. Its in-house programs provide chaplaincy services, grants for trips to Israel, camp scholarships, activities and opportunities for young adults, emergency disaster relief, refugee aid, and public events.

The San Diego Japanese School (Japanese: サンディエゴ補習授業校, romanized: San Diego Hoshū Jugyō Kō), also known as Minato School (Japanese: みなと学園, romanized: Minato Gakuen), is a Japanese weekend school in the San Diego metropolitan area. As of 2022 classes are held at Madison High School in Clairemont, San Diego, while the school office is in another location in San Diego.

Rancho Ex-Mission San Diego was a 58,875-acre (238.26 km2) Mexican land grant in present-day San Diego County, California given in 1846 by Governor Pio Pico to Santiago Argüello. The rancho derives its name from the secularized Mission San Diego, and was called ex-Mission because of a division made of the lands held in the name of the Mission—the church retaining the grounds immediately around, and all of the lands outside of this are called ex-Mission lands. The grant extended eastward from the Pueblo San Diego to Rancho El Cajon, and encompassed present day east San Diego, Normal Heights, La Mesa, Lemon Grove, and Encanto.

Kearny Mesa is a community in the central part of San Diego, California. It is bounded by State Route 52 to the north, Interstate 805 to the west, Aero Drive to the south, and Interstate 15 to the east. Adjacent communities include Serra Mesa, Clairemont and Tierrasanta. Kearny Mesa has a population of 2,837.

The airport covers 456 acres (185 ha) and has three runways, one public and two private helipads. The runways are 28 Right/10 Left-28 Left/10 Right parallels and 05/23.

Camp Kearny was a U.S. military base (first Army, later Navy) in San Diego County, California, on the site of the current Marine Corps Air Station Miramar. It operated from 1917 to 1946. The base was named in honor of Brigadier General Stephen W. Kearny.

Western Sierra Law School (WSLS) is a private law school originally located in San Diego and recently relocated to North San Diego County in Oceanside, California. Western Sierra Law School was founded in 1979 and offers an affordable and accessible option to those looking to study the law, earn a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and qualify to sit for the California Bar Exam. Western Sierra Law School offers a part-time, evening, 4 year J.D. program that is designed to accommodate working professionals. Students attend classes 2-3 nights per week, 3–4 hours per night, typically beginning at 6:30pm. The first year consists of a comprehensive study of Contracts, Torts, and Criminal Law, after which the student is qualified to sit for the First-Year Law Students' Exam (FYLSE) also known as the Baby Bar administered by the State Bar of California. Students must pass the FYLSE within three administrations, or otherwise be exempt, to receive credit for all law study completed to date. While concurrently working to pass the FYLSE, and after passing, students continue their study in years 2, 3, and 4 of all subjects tested on the CA Bar Exam and electives/clinical education to explore areas of interest. Western Sierra Law School has small class sizes averaging 10 students to 1 faculty member.[2]

Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcalá (Spanish: Misión San Diego de Alcalá) was the first Franciscan mission in The Californias, a province of New Spain. Located in present-day San Diego, California, it was founded on July 16, 1769, by Spanish friar Junípero Serra in an area long inhabited by the Kumeyaay people. The mission and the surrounding area were named for the Catholic saint Didacus of Alcalá, a Spaniard more commonly known as San Diego. The mission was the site of the first Christian burial in Alta California. The original mission burned in 1775 during an uprising by local natives San Diego is also generally regarded as the site of the region's first public execution, in 1778. Father Luis Jayme, California's first Christian martyr who was among those killed during the 1775 uprising against the mission, lies entombed beneath the chancel floor. The current church, built in the early 19th century, is the fifth to stand on this location. The mission site is a National Historic Landmark.
