Busmantsi (Bulgarian: Бусманци, also transcribed as Busmanci) is a village located in the Sofia City Province, western Bulgaria. It is part of the Iskar district in the municipality of Sofia, 8 km to the east of the City centre. As of 2006 it has 1,619 inhabitants. The village is surrounded by agricultural lands and factories. There are no woods in the vicinity with the exception of the areas around the Iskar river. Busmantsi is also the location of a detention center that was featured in the 2009 20th Century Fox horror film Wrong Turn 3.

Vrazhdebna Air Base (Bulgarian: Авиобаза Враждебна, romanized: Aviobaza Vraždebna) or 16th Transport Air Base is a military air base, located on the site of Sofia Airport. The air base functions as a hub for the 16th Transport Squadron of the BAF.

Iskar (Bulgarian: Искър [ˈiskɐr]) is a district located in the eastern parts of Sofia. As of 2006 it has 69,896 inhabitants and has an area of 25,6 km2. It includes four neighbourhoods: "Druzhba 1", "Druzhba 2", "Dimitar Milenkov" and Abdovitsa as well as the village of Busmantsi. The district also includes the "Gara Iskar" industrial zone which is situated around the railway station of the same name. Vrana Palace is situated in Iskar District. There is a spacious park with rare tree species and a lake. There are 3 churches including one in Busmantsi.

Slatina (Bulgarian: Слатина [ˈsɫatinɐ]) is a district located in the eastern parts of the capital Sofia. As of 2006 it has 65,772 inhabitants. The district has an area of 13.25 km² which counts for 6.69% of the total Capital Municipality area. It is a flat country with some heights to the west. Slatina, then a village, was first mentioned in 1420 as İslatina. Its name is derived from the common Bulgarian noun slatina, "saline spring", itself from the adjective slat ("salty, saline"). The word is attested in Old Bulgarian as СЛАТИНА, "bog, swamp, marsh", "non-squirting spring". The name is popular in Bulgarian and Slavic toponymy.Its borders follow Iskarsko Shose Str., Iskar River, Tsarigradsko Shose Blvd, Sitnyakovo Blvd, Boyan Magesnik Str, Stoyan Popov Str and Letostrui Str. Slatina includes five neighbourhoods: "Yavorov"; "Geo Milev"; "Hristo Smirnenski"; "Reduta" and "Hristo Botev". "Reduta" neighbourhood is the highest place in the capital. There are 23 hectares of green spaces and 3 parks. There are several important institutions, such as the Ministry of Domestic Affairs, Committee for Exploiting Nuclear Energy for Peaceful Purposes, and State Music Academy "Pancho Vladigerov". The embassies of Sweden, China, India and Romania are located there. There are also two sports halls: "Festivalna" and "Universiada".

24th Multi-member Constituency (Bulgarian: 24-ти многомандатен избирателен район) is one of the five Bulgarian constituencies whose borders are different from the administrative division. It comprises several regions in Eastern and Central Sofia.

Akademik Stadium is a football stadium located in Sofia, Bulgaria with a capacity of 8,000 sitting and 2,000 standing for sports and expandable to 22,000 for concerts. The stadium complex consists of 1 grass field, 2 additional fields, 4 changing rooms and 1 cafe-bar, as well as halls for Tae Bo, boxing, judo, a dancesport hall and a gym.

Poduyane (Bulgarian: Подуяне [poˈdujɐnɛ]) or Poduene (Подуене [poˈdu.ɛnɛ]) is a residential complex and a district of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria with 85,996 inhabitants. It is located in the northeastern outskirts of the city and is divided into microregions. Poduyane consists of the neighbourhoods Suhata Reka, Hadzhi Dimitar, Poduyane, Stefan Karadzha, Levski, Levski-G, Levski-V. A former village, it was incoroparted in 1895. The district's holiday is celebrated on 1 June.

The University of Library Studies and Information Technologies has got university status by a resolution of the National Assembly of Bulgaria of 29 September 2010. It is the successor consequently of the Specialised Higher School of Library Studies and Information Technologies (est. 2 Sept 2004), the College of Library Studies and Information Technologies (CLSIT), the College of Library Studies (CLS), the Institute of Library Studies (ILS) and the State Institute of Library Studies (est. 1950). SULSIT is member of the Balkan Universities Network.
