The Colonial Promenade Alabaster is a lifestyle center that opened in 2005 and is located in Alabaster, Alabama, United States. The 1,000,000-square-foot (93,000 m2) shopping center is the largest in Shelby County and it was developed by Colonial Properties Trust. It was at the center of a nationally publicized controversy over the use of eminent domain to facilitate private commercial development.

Siluria is a former town and now a neighborhood in Alabaster, Alabama, United States, located in Shelby County in the Birmingham, Alabama, metropolitan area. It was the home of a large cotton mill and company-built mill village which began operations in 1896 and finally closed in 1979. It was incorporated on May 25, 1954, but was later annexed by Alabaster in May 1971. It is named for the Silurian geological period because of rocks found there. A post office was established in 1872, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1972.

It is owned by the Shelby County Commission. The airport is situated in the city of Calera.This airport is included in the FAA's National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015 and 2009–2013, both of which categorized it as a general aviation facility. This was a change from the 2007–2011 NPIAS Report, when it was categorized as a reliever airport.Although most U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, this airport is assigned EET by the FAA but has no designation from the IATA.

Evangel Christian School operates under the legal and spiritual oversight of the Presbyterian Evangel Church, PCA, as a Board-directed ministry. At the 2000 census the population was 14,369, and has grown to 24,318 by the 2020 census, nearly doubling. It was named for Confederate Civil War officer John Pelham.
