The Moravian mission at Shekomeko was founded in 1740 by Christian Henry Rauch to convert the Mahican Indians in eastern New York.

Pulver-Bird House is a historic home located at Stanford in Dutchess County, New York. It was built in 1839 and has a two-story center block with flanking one-story wings in the Greek Revival style. It features a monumental tetrastyle portico supported by four Doric order columns. Also on the property is a frame ice house and frame barn.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

Smithfield Presbyterian Church is a historic Presbyterian church located near Amenia, Dutchess County, New York. It was built about 1847–1848, and is a one-story, Greek Revival style heavy timber frame church sheathed in clapboard. It has a stone foundation and gable roof and features a tetrastyle portico supported by four Ionic order columns. The church was refurbished in 1938. Also on the property is a contributing horse shed, Sexton's House (1857), and church cemetery, with the earliest grave dated to 1737. George Whitefield (1714-1770) preached an open air revival sermon at the church in June 1770.: 3–4, 6 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

The Kildonan School was a private coeducational boarding and day school in Amenia, for students with dyslexia and language-based learning disabilities. It offered daily one-to-one Orton-Gillingham language remediation and a college preparatory curriculum for students in grades 2-12 and PG (post-graduate). In July 2019, the Kildonan School announced that it would not reopen for the 2019–2020 school year due to low enrollment and insufficient funding. Its parent organization, the Kildonan Organization, partnered with Marvelwood School in 2020, where it operates Orton-Gillingham teaching, the Kildonan Teacher Training Institute, and Camp Dunnabeck, its summer camp program.

Graham-Brush Log House is a historic home located in the Town of Pine Plains, Dutchess County, New York. It was built in about 1776 and is a two-room log structure with a wood frame lean-to on its rear elevation. It measures roughly 39 feet long and 18 feet wide. It is one and one half stories with a gable roof; the lean-to addition is one story. The Brush house was acquired in 1997-1998 by the local historical society, the Little Nine Partners Historical Society. In 1998 it was damaged by an arson fire.Lewis Graham came from Westchester County where the British had burned his house. He came to Pine Plains because his father had been one of the Little Nine Partners in the local land patent. About 1776, he built a one-room log cabin without a cellar to which he soon added a center hall with stairs to the loft and another room with a fireplace, all of logs. The log addition was built over a cellar with an outside entrance. The simple lap joining of logs, without dovetails, relates its construction methods to the military garrisons being built at that time to house troops.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

The Dakin-Coleman Farm is located on Coleman Station Road (Dutchess County Route 58) in the Town of North East, New York, United States. Its large wooden farmhouse was built shortly before the Revolution. At one point it was legally divided between two heirs of its original builder. In the late 19th century renovations mostly to the interior added some Victorian aspects to it. It has remained largely intact since then, and is the oldest house in the hamlet of Coleman Station. It has been a contributing property to the Coleman Station Historic District since it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on November 22, 1993, and was listed in its own right on November 22, 2000.

The Pines is a historic home located at the hamlet of Pine Plains in the town of Pine Plains, Dutchess County, New York. It was built in 1878 and is a large 2-story frame residence with a 1+1⁄2-story service wing designed in the Stick-Eastlake style. It has an asymmetrical appearance with projecting bays, cross gables, and porches. It features a steeply pitched, common lap slate roof, four corbeled chimney stacks with terra cotta pots, and a tower with a steeply pitched pyramidal roof.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
