Marian University (Indiana)

Wheeler–Stokely Mansion, also known as Hawkeye, Magnolia Farm, and Stokely Music Hall, is a historic home located at Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. It was built in 1912, and is a large 2+1⁄2-story, asymmetrically massed, Arts and Crafts style buff brick mansion. The house is ornamented with bands of ceramic tile and has a tile roof. It features a 1+1⁄2-story arcaded porch, porte cochere, and porch with second story sunroom / sleeping porch. Also on the property are the contributing gate house, 320-foot-long colonnade, gazebo, teahouse, gardener's house, dog walk, and landscaped property.: 5–7 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

The Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine is the medical school of Marian University in Indianapolis, Indiana. It was the first osteopathic medical school to open at a Roman Catholic university.Founded in 2010, the college is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association's Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA). Medical graduates of the college receive a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.).

The Alan and Sue Leighton School of Nursing is part of Marian University, a private, non-profit school located in Indianapolis, Indiana. Established in 1977 as the Marian College School of Nursing, the school has been housed in the Michael A. Evans Center for Health Sciences on the university's main campus since 2013. It shares the building with the Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine.Part of Marian University, the Leighton School of Nursing frames its curriculum within the context of the Catholic Franciscan values of the university's founders, the Sisters of St. Francis, Oldenburg, Indiana. As such, the curricula for all its programs are designed to teach nursing students how to take a holistic approach to patient care.

Stewart Manor (Charles B. Sommers House) is a historic home located at Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. It was built in 1923–1924, and is a large 2+1⁄2-story, irregularly massed stone mansion. It features a drive through front portico and rounded and segmental arched openings. The house has a shingled gable roof with rounded corners reminiscent of a Medieval English Country Manor.: 2 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

The Major Taylor Velodrome is an outdoor, concrete velodrome in Indianapolis, Indiana, U.S., named for 1899 cycling world champion Major Taylor. The 333.34 m (364.55 yd) track with 28 degree banked turns and 9 degree straights. The Velodrome is located immediately north of the Marian University campus and is the home track of the 41-time USA Cycling National Champion Marian University Cycling Team. The velodrome was opened in July 1982 for the U.S. Olympic Festival. It was built at a cost of $2.5 million. It was a facility required to host that year's National Sports Festival, with money coming from a partnership between the Indianapolis Parks and Recreation Department and the Lilly Endowment. It was the first building built with public money in Indianapolis to be named after an African American. The proposal to name the facility for Taylor came initially from Tom Healy, a writer for the Indianapolis News, who contacted Taylor's daughter, Sidney Taylor Brown. The two advocated among the city's business community and Mayor William H. Hudnut.It has played host to many national and international competitions, including cycling events of the 1987 Pan American Games; USA Cycling's Collegiate Track National Championships in 2003, 2010, 2011, 2014, and 2017; and USA Cycling's Masters Track National Championships in 2005, 2013, and 2016. In May 2011, Marian University took over operations of the velodrome property, known as the Indy Cycloplex, which includes a BMX track, mountain bike trails, cyclocross course, and public green space. In the years following the shift in operation, the facility has focused on promoting youth health and fitness as well as the continuous development of the sport of competitive cycling. Weekly and daily programming takes place on the Velodrome from April through September, including a Thursday night race series, the Major Taylor Racing League.

Allison Mansion, also known as Riverdale, is a historic home located on the campus of Marian University at Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. It was built between 1911 and 1914, and is a large two-story, Arts and Crafts style red brick mansion with a red tile roof. The house features a sunken conservatory, porte cochere, and sunken white marble aviary.: 2–4 The house was built by businessman and auto racing pioneer James A. Allison. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970.

Heslar Naval Armory (formerly Indianapolis Naval Reserve Armory) was constructed in 1936 in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States, on the shore of White River as a Works Progress Administration construction project. It was designed by architect Ben H. Bacon and reflects an Art Moderne style. Heslar Naval Armory was the home of Naval Operations Support Center Indianapolis, Marine Corps Reserve Center Indianapolis, and Naval Recruiting Station Indianapolis, as well as the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps Cruiser Indianapolis (CA-35) Division and the Central Indiana Young Marines of the Marine Corps League. In October 2008 the Indiana Wing Civil Air Patrol, state branch of the US Air Force Auxiliary, moved its headquarters functions and staff to the Armory. The building and property are legally owned by the State of Indiana and managed by the Indiana State Armory Board (an entity of the Indiana National Guard), but were leased to the federal government for use by the United States Navy Reserve and the United States Marine Corps Reserve until early 2015. The facility was converted to educational use with the opening of Riverside High School. Renovating the armory for use as a school cost $10 million, and was completed in June 2018.

Riverside Amusement Park was an amusement park in Indianapolis, Indiana, US from 1903 to 1970. Originating as a joint venture between engineer/amusement park developer Frederick Ingersoll and Indianapolis businessmen J. Clyde Power, Albert Lieber, Bert Fiebleman, and Emmett Johnson, the park was built by Ingersoll's Pittsburgh Construction Company adjacent to Riverside City Park at West 30th Street between White River and the Central Canal in the Riverside subdivision of Indianapolis.

Indianapolis Veterans Administration Hospital, also known as Larue D. Carter Memorial Hospital is a historic hospital complex and national historic district located at Indianapolis, Indiana. The district resources were developed between 1930 and 1951 by the Veterans Administration, and encompasses 15 contributing buildings, 2 contributing sites, 2 contributing structures and 5 contributing objects on the hospital campus. The main complex is connected by an enclosed corridor and consists of the main hospital building (1931), kitchen/mess hall/boiler house/attendants' quarters, general medical building (1939), and recreation building (1941). The buildings reflect the Colonial Revival and Classical Revival styles of architecture.: 3 The name of doctor Larue D. Carter had previously been attached to the state's first intensive-treatment psychiatric hospital, a facility within a large assembly of buildings (which then also included both the Indiana University Indianapolis campus and the V.A. Hospital), in recognition of his leadership role in the state's Mental Health Association, at a time when the Civil War-era Central State Hospital psychiatric facility, in the same city, was being pilloried as an obsolete relic reflecting inhumane approaches to mental illness. This V.A. facility was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

Henry F. Campbell Mansion, also known as Esates Apartments, is a historic home located at Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. It was built between 1916 and 1922, and is a large 2+1⁄2-story, Italian Renaissance style cream colored brick and terra cotta mansion. It has a green terra cotta tile hipped roof. The house features a semi-circular entry portico supported by 10 Tuscan order marble columns. Also on the property are the contributing gardener's house, six-car garage, barn, and a garden shed.: 5 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

Cardinal Ritter High School is a private, Roman Catholic high school on West 30th Street in Indianapolis, Indiana. It is part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Indianapolis. It was founded in 1964 and serves the west side of the Indianapolis metropolitan area.

Riverside Regional Park is located on the near west side of Indianapolis, Indiana, and is bounded by 38th Street to the north, 18th Street to the south, Riverside Drive to the east, and Cold Spring Road to the west.
