Krzyż Wielkopolski

Gmina Krzyż Wielkopolski is an urban-rural gmina (administrative district) in Czarnków-Trzcianka County, Greater Poland Voivodeship, in west-central Poland. Its seat is the town of Krzyż Wielkopolski, which lies approximately 38 kilometres (24 mi) west of Czarnków and 82 km (51 mi) north-west of the regional capital Poznań. The gmina covers an area of 174.56 square kilometres (67.4 sq mi), and as of 2006 its total population is 8,791 (out of which the population of Krzyż Wielkopolski amounts to 6,283, and the population of the rural part of the gmina is 2,508).

It lies approximately 2 kilometres (1 mi) west of Krzyż Wielkopolski, 40 km (25 mi) west of Czarnków, and 83 km (52 mi) north-west of the regional capital Poznań.

The Drawa (German: Drage) is a river and popular aquatic trail in Poland, 192 km long. The surface of its catchment area amounts to 3291 km2. The Drawa begins its course at Lake Krzywe in Drawsko Landscape Park and ends it in Noteć below Krzyż Wielkopolski. The Drawa is a right-bank tributary of Noteć, the second regarding size. Its average gradient is 0,61% and its flow rate 19 m3/s. It is the longest river in Pojezierze Drawskie.
