Lukoil Arena (Russian: Лукойл Арена), former Otkritie Bank Arena (Russian: Открытие Банк Арена) and Otkritie Arena (Russian: Открытие Банк Арена), also known as Spartak Stadium (Russian: Стадион Спартак) (the stadium's official name during the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and 2018 FIFA World Cup), is a multi-purpose stadium north-west of Moscow, Russia. The venue is used mostly for football matches, hosting the home matches of Spartak Moscow.The stadium is designed with a capacity of 45,360 people. It has been used for select matches of Russian national football team.

FC Spartak Moscow (Russian: Футбольный клуб «Спартак» Москва, romanized: Futbolʹnyy klub «Spartak» Moskva, pronounced [spɐrˈtak mɐˈskva]) is a Russian professional football club based in Moscow. Having won 12 Soviet championships (second only to Dynamo Kyiv) and a record 10 Russian championships, it is the country's most successful club. They have also won a record 10 Soviet Cups, 4 Russian Cups and one Russian Super Cup. Spartak have also reached the semi-finals of all three European club competitions.

DOSAAF of Russia (Russian: Добровольное общество содействия армии, авиации и флоту России (ДОСААФ России)) is an all-Russian volunteer public-state organization (общественно-государственная организация), an indirect successor of the Soviet DOSAAF, with the declared purpose of strengthening of the country's defense capability and national security. In addition, DOSAAF members will take part in the elimination of the consequences of emergency situations, such as catastrophes natural disasters, helping the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Vympel NPO is a Russian research and production company based near Moscow, mostly known for their air-to-air missiles. Other projects include SAM and ABM defenses. It was started in the Soviet era as an OKB (experimental design bureau).

Spartak (Russian: Спартак), previously named Volokolamskaya (Russian: Волоколамская), is a station on the Moscow Metro's Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya line, under the former Tushino airfield. It was originally constructed in 1975 as part of the northern extension of the Krasnopresnensky radius but was left unfinished for nearly 40 years. The planned opening of Otkrytiye Arena Stadium, the home ground of FC Spartak Moscow, at the site drove the completion of the station, which opened on 27 August 2014. Consequently, the station's name was changed from the planned Volokolamskaya to Spartak.

The Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, previously the N. F. Gamaleya Federal Research Center for Epidemiology & Microbiology, is a Russian medical-research institute within the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.Founded in 1891 by Filipp Markovich Blyumental, it is named after Soviet scientist Nikolay Fyodorovich Gamaleya (1859–1949), famed as a pioneer in microbiology and in vaccine research. The institute is best known internationally for developing the earliest vaccine for SARS-CoV-2, in collaboration with the 48th Central Research Institute of the Ministry of Defence and the Vector Institute of the Rospotrebnadzor, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

North-Western Administrative Okrug (Russian: Се́веро-За́падный администрати́вный о́круг, romanized: Severo-Zapadny administrativny okrug), or Severo-Zapadny Administrative Okrug, is one of the twelve high-level territorial divisions (administrative okrugs) of the federal city of Moscow, Russia. As of the 2010 Census, its population was 942,223, up from 779,965 recorded during the 2002 Census.

Shchukinskaya (Russian: Щукинская) is a station on the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya Line of the Moscow Metro. Named after the village of Schukino before it was consumed by Moscow and became a municipality in the 1940s, it was opened on 30 December 1975. The design follows the original pillar-trispan (40 columns instead of 26). The pillars are faced with different shades of pinkish marble (from the Ukrainian deposit of Burovshchina) and punctuated by a vertical strip of anodized aluminum on each face. The walls are of corrugated, bronze-coloured aluminum, an alloy of extensive strength and flexibility, adorned with decorative panels. The floor is covered with polished grey granite. The architects were Nina Aleshina, N. Samoylova and M. Alekseev. During the construction of the extension tunnel Oktyabrskoe Pole – Shchukinskaya a new engineering method was developed. Because the Moscow soil was sandy, the metro tunnels had traditionally been built using the open pit method (i.e. digging from the surface) or by restricting building work from passing under inhabited areas as cave-ins would have been very likely. For the Shchukinskaya tunnel however circular concrete blocks were pressed rather than mounted into the soil, and as this was done rapidly the elements did not have time to develop into heavy pressure and sap into the tunnel. This removed the need for festering a sand-cement mixture into the finish, thereby dramatically increasing the potential speed of construction, and saving on building materials. Another achievement was that no metal was used for the mounting of the tunnel blocks, instead a bitumen mixture formed from the pressure of the boring complex was used to join the blocks. As this was denser than the soil, there was no need for festering of the cement. The entrances to the station are located near the intersection of Shchukinskaya Ulitsa and Ulitsa Marshala Vasilevskogo. The station handles 93500 people daily.

The 2003 Tushino bombing was a terrorist attack that occurred on July 5, 2003, at Tushino Airfield in Moscow, Russia, killing 15 people and injuring up to 60 more. Two Chechen shahidka (Muslim female suicide bombers) committed suicide attacks at the entrance to a rock festival called Krylya (Russian: Крылья, lit. Wings) being held at the Tushino airfield in north-western Moscow. The first bomber, 20-year-old Zulikhan Elikhadzhiyeva, detonated her bomb which only partially exploded, killing only herself. Only a few meters away from where Elikhadzhiyeva had detonated, 26-year-old Zinaida Aliyeva detonated her explosives 15 minutes later, killing 11 people on the spot while at least 60 people were injured, with four of them later dying in hospital. Russian authorities stated that had the suicide bombers been able to enter the airfield, the casualties would have been significantly higher. They opened a criminal investigation into the attack. The Tushino bombing was part of a string of suicide attacks in Russia that had occurred within the previous four months, killing 165 people in total, in the context of the Second Chechen War.

Tushinskaya (Russian: Тушинская) is a station on the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya Line of the Moscow Metro. It was designed by I.G. Petukhova and V.P. Kachurinets and opened on 30 December 1975. The station was built to a modified standard design, with grey-blue marble pillars and white marble walls with inlaid zigzag friezes. Tushinskaya is one of the Metro's busiest stations, serving about 111,000 passengers per day according to a 1999 study. Tushinskaya is located adjacent to Tushinskaya railway station on the Rizhsky suburban railway line and Line D2 of Moscow Central Diameters.

Yuzhnoye Tushino District (Russian: Южное Тушино райо́н, lit. South Tushino) is an administrative district (raion) of North-Western Administrative Okrug, and one of the 125 raions of Moscow, Russia.

Tushino (Russian: Тушино, IPA: [ˈtuʂɨnə]) is a former village and town to the north of Moscow, which has been part of the city's area since 1960. Between 1939 and 1960, Tushino was classed as a separate town. The Skhodnya River flows across the southern part of Tushino.
