The Federal Building-Courthouse in London, Kentucky is a courthouse of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky. It was built in 1911 under the supervision of architect James Knox Taylor, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

The Poynter Building, on Main St. in London, Kentucky, was built in 1910. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. It is a two-story common bond brick commercial building placed prominently on a corner in downtown London. It held the first drugstore in London. It was deemed "significant as the best example of turn of the century commercial architecture in London and because of its association with the development of significant modern commercial and communication facilities in London."

Sue Bennett College was a private college in London, Kentucky which operated from 1897 through 1997. It was affiliated originally with the Methodist Episcopal Church, South and later the United Methodist Church. It began as an elementary school and ended its days as a four-year college.

London is a home rule-class city in Laurel County, Kentucky, in the United States. It is the seat of its county. The population was 8,053 at the time of the 2020 census. It is the second-largest city named "London" in the United States and the fourth-largest in the world. It is part of the London, Kentucky micropolitan area. Of the seventeen micropolitan areas in Kentucky, London is the largest; the London micropolitan area's 2010 Census population was 126,368. London is also home to the annual World Chicken Festival that celebrates the life of Colonel Sanders and features the world's largest skillet.

Laurel County is a county located in the southeastern portion of the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2020 census, the population was 62,613. Its county seat is London. After a special election in January 2016 alcohol sales are permitted only in the city limits of London. The ordinance went into effect on March 27, 2016, 60 days after results of the election. Laurel County is included in the London, KY Micropolitan Statistical Area.

WRSL (1600 AM) was a radio station licensed to Corbin, Kentucky, United States, broadcasting a Southern gospel format. The station was owned by Lincoln-Garrard Broadcasting Co., Inc., and broadcast from 1961 to 2017. The station moved to Corbin in 2004 after 43 years of broadcasting from Stanford, Kentucky. The station's license was surrendered on December 15, 2017, and cancelled by the Federal Communications Commission on February 26, 2018.

The Corbin, Kentucky Micropolitan Area (formerly London, Kentucky) Micropolitan Area (μSA) is made up of four counties in the Eastern Coalfield region of Kentucky. Before 2013, the area was officially known as the Corbin–London, KY Combined Statistical Area, and consisted of the Corbin Micropolitan Statistical Area and the London Micropolitan Statistical Area. The Corbin micropolitan area consisted of Whitley County, and the London micropolitan area consisted of Laurel County. In 2013, the United States Census Bureau folded the CSA into the redefined London micropolitan area, and Knox County was added to the statistical area. This incidentally ended a statistical anomaly that excluded the 20% of the population of Corbin living in Knox County from the statistical area. As of 2019, the London micropolitan area had a population of 128,215. The total population of the London, KY μSA changed from 126,565 in 2010 to 128,215 in 2018, a change of 1,650 (1.3%). Among all metros nationwide, London, KY μSA ranked 386th in 2018, based on total population. It ranked 319th based population change from 2010 to 2018 and ranked 456th based population percent change from 2010 to 2018. With the release of the 2023 Statistical Area definitions, the London micropolitan area was renamed Corbin micropolitan area and Clay County was added to the μSA.
