Kąty Wrocławskie

Gmina Kąty Wrocławskie is an urban-rural gmina (administrative district) in Wrocław County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. Its seat is the town of Kąty Wrocławskie, which lies approximately 22 kilometres (14 mi) south-west of the regional capital Wrocław. It is part of the Wrocław metropolitan area. The gmina covers an area of 176.5 square kilometres (68.1 sq mi), and as of 2019 its total population is 24,927.

Sośnica [sɔɕˈnit͡sa] (German: Schosnitz) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Kąty Wrocławskie, within Wrocław County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. Prior to 1945 it was in Germany. It lies approximately 2 kilometres (1 mi) east of Kąty Wrocławskie and 21 km (13 mi) south-west of the regional capital Wrocław. Field Marshal Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher is buried here. His remains were moved after the Cold War by a local priest from the original tomb in nearby Krobielowice (Krieblowitz), which was desecrated by Russian soldiers in 1945.

Kilianów [kiˈljanuf] (German: Landau) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Kąty Wrocławskie, within Wrocław County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. Prior to 1945 it was in Germany. It lies approximately 4 kilometres (2 mi) south-west of Kąty Wrocławskie, and 25 kilometres (16 mi) south-west of the regional capital Wrocław. The family of German Chancellor Leo von Caprivi moved here from Koprivnik, Slovenia after being ennobled by the Habsburgs.

Krobielowice [krɔbjɛlɔˈvit͡sɛ] (German: Krieblowitz) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Kąty Wrocławskie, within Wrocław County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. It lies approximately 3 kilometres (2 mi) south-east of Kąty Wrocławskie and 21 km (13 mi) south-west of the regional capital Wrocław. The town was founded in 1321. As Krieblowitz in the Prussian Province of Silesia, it was one of the residences of renowned Field Marshal Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher, co-victor with Wellington over Napoleon at Waterloo, who died here in 1819. It was incorporated into the new German Empire in 1871. From 1937–45 under the Nazis Krieblowitz was renamed Blüchersruh ("Blücher's resting place"), partly to honour the Field Marshal, and partly because the authorities thought the original name sounded "too foreign". The town remained part of Germany until the end of the Second World War. Blücher's mausoleum was vandalized by Soviet troops in 1945. The area was transferred to Poland later that same year. Blücher's empty tomb remains. In 1990s, the palace was renovated. It houses now a hotel and a restaurant. The area around the hotel was turned into a golf course.

Chmielów [ˈxmjɛluf] (German: Schmellwitz) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Kostomłoty, within Środa Śląska County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. Prior to 1945 it was in Germany. It lies approximately 15 kilometres (9 mi) south-east of Środa Śląska, and 22 kilometres (14 mi) west of the regional capital Wrocław.

Sadowice [sadɔˈvit͡sɛ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Kąty Wrocławskie, within Wrocław County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. Prior to 1945 it was in Germany. It lies approximately 4 kilometres (2 mi) north-east of Kąty Wrocławskie and 19 km (12 mi) south-west of the regional capital Wrocław.
