The Zebun Nessa Mosque (Bengali: জেবুন নেসা মসজিদ) is an urban mosque which is located in Ashulia on the outskirts of Dhaka, Bangladesh. The mosque is an architectural project designed by Studio Morphogenesis under the direction of Saiqa Iqbal Meghna. Completed in 2023, the mosque which covers an area of 6060 square feet was commissioned by a local textile factory owner to honor his late mother.

Daffodil International University (Bengali: ড্যাফোডিল ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ইউনিভার্সিটি) (DIU) is a private research university located in Daffodil Smart City, Birulia, Savar, Dhaka - 1216, Bangladesh. It was established on 24 January 2002 under the Private University Act of 1992.The 2023 QS Asian University Rankings placed DIU between 351st and 400th among Asian universities and 5th among Bangladeshi universities. DIU has been ranked within the top 400 universities in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2022. DIU is the first university in Bangladesh to have signed the UN's Commitment to Sustainable Practices of Higher Education Institutions. According to the SCOPUS indexed research publications in 2022, Daffodil International University has been positioned 2nd among all universities and 1st among all private universities in Bangladesh.

Manarat International University (MIU) is a private university in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was established in 2001 by the Manarat Trust.

Diabari Depot (Bengali: দিয়াবাড়ি ডিপো), officially Uttara Depot (Bengali: উত্তরা ডিপো), is a railway depot of the Dhaka Metro Rail's MRT Line 6, located before Uttara North station in northern Dhaka. It is the first depot on the metro lines of Dhaka, having been built in 2022, when the MRT Line 6 was under construction.

Turag Thana is a thana, an administrative unit, in Dhaka City, Bangladesh. Turag Thana police station is the designated police station of the thana.

The 2012 Dhaka garment factory fire broke out on 24 November 2012, in the Tazreen Fashion factory in the Ashulia district on the outskirts of Dhaka, Bangladesh. At least 117 people were confirmed dead in the fire, and over 200 were injured, making it the deadliest factory fire in the nation's history. The cause of the fire was not determined. It was initially presumed to be caused by an electrical short circuit, the cause of 80% of factory fires in Bangladesh. A widely criticized government report alleged an act of "sabotage", without identifying who committed it or why. This fire and others similar to it have led to numerous proposed reforms in workers' rights and safety laws in Bangladesh.

On 21 July 2025, at 13:12 BST (UTC+6), a Chengdu FT-7BGI fighter jet operated by the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) crashed shortly after takeoff into the Milestone School campus in the Uttara neighbourhood of Dhaka, Bangladesh, while students were attending classes. At least 36 people were killed and 172 injured, 25 critically.

RAJUK Uttara Apartment Project (abbreviated as RUAP) is a residential area located in Sector 18 of Uttara, Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is the first and largest apartment project in the country. Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha launched this project in 2011 to ensure housing in the metropolis for low and middle-income people, targeting an estimated population of 80,000, with a completion period of five years. The construction project included 240 sixteen-storey buildings on 214 acres land, with a total of 18,732 apartments. The buildings were divided into three blocks. In 2019, the project period was extended to 2022, with a final budget of ৳10,586 crore. As of 2021, about 2,000 families were living there. In November 2020, it was revealed that 281 apartments of the project had been allocated through lobbying and bribes instead of a lottery system. After the launch of MRT Line 6 in 2022, the demand for apartments in the project area increased. It was reported that 450 apartments of the project were still unsold. In 2024, the construction progress of Block A of the project reportedly reached 95%, and the authorities were expected to complete the construction by December of the same year. Later, the project duration was extended to June 2025. Although construction of 79 buildings in Block A was completed under the project, the Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase cancelled the plan to build buildings of the B and C block with financial and technical assistance from the Malaysian government. As a result, the Project Implementation Committee and Project Steering Committee decided to create separate projects for Blocks B and C. Consequently, Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha proposed a new project with a budget of ৳16,827 crore to construct 7,544 apartments in two blocks with a target completion year of 2030. However, since no feasibility study had been conducted as required for a project worth more than ৳50 crore, objections were raised about the project at a meeting of the Project Evaluation Committee in June 2025.

Uttara North (Bengali: উত্তরা উত্তর, romanised: Uttora uttor) is an elevated metro station of the Dhaka Metro Rail's MRT Line 6. This station is located in Uttara, a suburb of Dhaka. It was opened on 29 December 2022.

Birulia Bridge is a bridge on Turag River which connects Birulia, Savar Upazila with Mirpur Road, Dhaka. Its construction was started in 2002, but halted after half of the work was done. Later its construction was resumed in 2014 with additional ৳120 million budget. Obaidul Quader, minister of Road Transport and Bridges, assured that the bridge would be completed in December 2014. However, as of January 2015, 60% work was done and the deadline was extended to June 2015. On 14 July 2015, the bridge was inaugurated with newly-built National Highway 511. The total cost for the bridge was ৳191.3 million. As of 2016, The Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority had written to the Local Government Engineering Department seeking a solution as the pillars of the bridge falls in the middle of Turag river, fearing that boat movement on the waterway would be hampered. But they did not take any measures to solve the issue. According to the draft of Detailed Area Plan finalized in 2021, the bridge was proposed to be demolished and rebuilt to implement a circular waterway around Dhaka.

Birulia is a village in Dhaka District of Bangladesh. It is an union council under the Savar Upazila.

Mirpur–Uttara Road (Bengali: মিরপুর–উত্তরা রোড) is a street in Dhaka, Bangladesh, that was built for the construction of the Mirpur DOHS-to-Uttara section of Dhaka Metro Rail's MRT Line 6. Before the line's construction, the road was a narrow path, which in 2016 was planned to be converted into a street because, due to its narrowness, the line's viaduct could not be built on it. The road runs from the Mirpur Cantonment area to Sector 18 of Uttara and a roundabout at Diabari. During the construction of the MRT Line 6, the 800-metre (2,600 ft) stretch of the road from Mirpur 12 to Uttara South metro station was constructed with broken bricks; the narrow section was quickly finished to mark the line's inauguration in 2022. The road was later extended to connect with Mirpur and Uttara, and is currently the only road linking the two areas. The construction of this 4.5-kilometre (2.8 mi)-long street connecting Sonargaon Janapath with Mirpur DOHS reduced the travel time between Mirpur and Uttara. During the construction of Dhaka BRT, traffic congestion on Airport Road increased and drivers started using this street as an alternative. According to the master plan of Dhaka North City Corporation's (DNCC) Detailed Area Plan, a road has been proposed from the end of the street; from Diabari Roundabout to Gazipur. In 2022, Salehuddin Ahmed, who was involved in Dhaka's bus-route rationalization project, said this street would be included in the project's route. The section of the street from Mirpur 12 to Uttara South metro station, however, is not wide enough, causing traffic jams and inconvenience to the passengers. Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) constructed the road and, according to DNCC, they are not in possession of it so are unable to address the issue. In 2023, M.A.N. Siddique, the then-Managing Director of DMTCL, said they had written to the authorities asking to take over responsibility for the road. In addition, the 800-metre (2,600 ft)-long section has become prone to accidents due to its collapse after its inauguration. In 2024, the then-DNCC mayor Atiqul Islam stated the authorities were trying to rebuild the section. On 20 December 2023, in a DNCC meeting, a proposal to name the street after Patua Quamrul Hassan, who designed the revised version of the flag of Bangladesh, was accepted. In May 2024, it was reported that DNCC forwarded the approved proposal to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives. As of December 2024, according to users of the problematic street, they have been facing difficulties for several years, yet the authorities have not shown sincerity in repairing it. Later, on 11 March 2025, the MP Checkpost-to-Uttara South metro station section was closed for repairs, and after completion of the repairs, it was reopened on 14 March 2025. Mohammad Azaz, The administrator of Dhaka North City Corporation, stated that the repaired section will be replaced by a bridge in the future to protect Khidir Canal.
