Scotiabank Centre

The 2007 World Indoor Lacrosse Championship was the second World Indoor Lacrosse Championship, an international box lacrosse tournament organized by the Federation of International Lacrosse every four years. It took place between May 14 and 20 at the Halifax Metro Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Canada was the defending champion and again beat the Iroquois Nationals in the final, this time 15–14 in overtime. Eight nations took part in this event, the six nations from the 2003 WILC and two newcomers - England and Ireland. There was an estimated 850,000 television viewers of the tournament in Canada and the games were streamed live in Europe.

The Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame was established in 1964, to honor outstanding athletes, teams and sport builders in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia. The facilities are located at the World Trade and Convention Centre in the provincial capital city of Halifax.

The World Trade and Convention Centre (WTCC) was a convention centre and office complex in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, adjacent to the Scotiabank Centre. The facility had 30,000 square feet (2,800 m2) of meeting space and a 20,000 square foot ballroom. It was replaced by the larger Halifax Convention Centre in 2017, and the building was sold to a private developer.

Duke Tower is part of the Scotia Square complex in Downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia. It is used for office and commercial use and stands at 71 metres with 16 floors. It in part houses the offices of Emera as well as tenants such as the dentistry offices of Scotia Dental and a campus for the Canadian Language Learning Centre. The building is connected to the Downtown Halifax Link system and has a ground level entrance on Duke Street and an entrance in Scotia Square Mall.

The Town Clock, also sometimes called the Old Town Clock or Citadel Clock Tower, is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the historic urban core of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The Grand Parade (sometimes incorrectly referred to as "Parade Square") is an historic military parade square dating from the founding of Halifax in 1749. At the north end of the Grand Parade is the Halifax City Hall, the seat of municipal government in Nova Scotia's Halifax Regional Municipality. At the south end is St. Paul's Church. In the middle of Grand Parade is the cenotaph built originally to commemorate the soldiers who served in World War I. Centrally located in Downtown Halifax, the square remains an important civic space used for numerous events including musical performances, political demonstrations, the annual New Year's Eve celebrations, Remembrance Day ceremonies, and Christmas tree lighting.

Scotia Square is a commercial development in the downtown core of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. It was built in the late sixties to mid seventies and is managed by Crombie REIT. It is connected to the Downtown Halifax Link and serves as a major Halifax Transit bus terminal in Halifax.

Cogswell Tower is part of the Scotia Square Complex in downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia. It is used for office and commercial space and stands at 79 metres (259 ft) with 14 floors, plus levels G, P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, P6 (bottom to top) underneath, which are part of the parkade on which Cogswell Tower sits. G level is ground level for Barrington Street and connects to the lobby of the Delta Halifax, P1 enters into Scotia Square, and P3 level is ground level for Albemarle (formerly Market) Street. The building is connected to the Downtown Halifax Link system. The Business Development Bank of Canada's Halifax branch is located here. Other buildings in the Scotia Square Complex are Duke Tower, Barrington Tower, the CIBC Building, Brunswick Place and Barrington Place. Like all buildings in the complex it is managed by Crombie REIT.

Barrington Tower is a part of the Scotia Square Complex in Downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. The tower stands at 84 metres (275 feet) and has 20 floors. It is owned and operated by Crombie REIT.The building is connected to the Downtown Halifax Link system.

St. Paul's Church is an evangelical Anglican church in downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia, within the Diocese of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island of the Anglican Church of Canada. It is located at the south end of the Grand Parade, an open square in downtown Halifax with Halifax City Hall at the northern end. The church is modelled after Marybone Chapel in Westminster, London, which was designed by controversial architect James Gibbs, the architect of St Martin-in-the-Fields at Trafalgar Square. Built during Father Le Loutre's War, it is the oldest surviving Protestant church in Canada and the oldest building in Halifax. There is also a crypt below the church. Close to the church is the St. Paul's Church Cemetery. The official chapel of the church was the Little Dutch (Deutsch) Church. Saint Paul's was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1981. In 1981, it was designated a Municipal Registered Heritage Property by the former City of Halifax, and in 1983 it was designated a Provincially Registered Heritage Property both under the provincial Heritage Property Act.

The Capital District was an area in Nova Scotia's Halifax Regional Municipality designated as Nova Scotia's centre of business, government, events and attractions. It was created in 2002 as a means to focus on improving services in the municipality's central business district (CBD). It was disbanded in 2010. The CBD includes the following areas: Downtown Halifax, an area on the western side of Halifax Harbour. Downtown Dartmouth, an area on the eastern side of Halifax Harbour the business districts of Spring Garden Road, Quinpool Road, and Gottingen Street on the Halifax Peninsula.The Capital District includes a "task force" with representation from the municipal government, the provincial government, as well as members of the business community and waterfront development agencies.

TD Centre is an office building home to the Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD Bank) in downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. The complex was completed in 1974 and substantially reconstructed in 2014. The TD Centre originally stood at 73 metres with 18 floors. Its 2014 expansion added 10 metres to the building's overall height and three additional floors of office space. The building is adjacent to the CIBC Building to which it is connected through the Downtown Halifax Link system. On its remaining sides it is bounded by Barrington Street on the west, George Street on the south and Granville Street on its lowest, eastern side. In 2010, TDB Halifax Holdings Limited announced its intention to enlarge the structure on its east side and to make substantial modifications to the roof (including an increase in height of 10 metres). The changes roughly doubled the original floor area to about 200,000 square feet (19,000 m2) and resulted in a more economical structure using "green" technologies. The project, which entailed stripping the building to its original concrete frame while it continued under occupancy, was designed by Lydon Lynch Architects. It incorporates the facade of an historic 19th century building, originally home to a leather harness maker, on its Granville Street level.Construction began in November 2012 with the expanded structure topping out in late 2014. In July 2013, building owner TDB Halifax Holdings announced it had signed a new 10-year lease with TD Bank Group to continue as the building's anchor tenant.The Building incorporates photovoltaic sun-shades on the south facade and on the street level sidewalk canopies. Photovoltaic cells have been laminated between sheets of glass to form a shade device that generates electricity while it is acts as a shade and reduces glare for computer screens.
