Egg Harbor Township is a township in Atlantic County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 43,323, reflecting an increase of 12,597 (+41.0%) from the 30,726 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 6,182 (+25.2%) from the 24,544 counted in the 1990 Census.Egg Harbor Township was first mentioned as part of Gloucester County in records dating back to March 20, 1693, and at times was called New Weymouth. The township's western boundary was established on May 13, 1761, with the area called Great Egg-Harbour Township. Portions of the township were taken to form Galloway Township, which was established by Royal charter on April 4, 1774. Additional portions were taken to form Weymouth Township on February 12, 1798. On February 21, 1798, the area was incorporated as Egg-Harbour Township. Over the ensuing centuries, portions of the township were taken to create many new municipalities: Hamilton Township on February 5, 1813; Atlantic City on May 1, 1854; Absecon on May 1, 1854; South Atlantic City (now Margate City) on September 7, 1885; Pleasantville on January 10, 1889; Linwood on February 20, 1889; Somers Point on April 24, 1886; Longport on March 7, 1898; Ventnor City on March 17, 1903; and Northfield on March 21, 1905.Great Egg Harbor got its name from Dutch explorer Cornelius Jacobsen Mey. In 1614, Mey came upon the inlet to the Great Egg Harbor River. The meadows were so covered with shorebird and waterfowl eggs that he called it "Eieren Haven" (Egg Harbor).Egg Harbor Township joins Bellmawr, Cranbury, Montclair and Woodbridge Township as one of the five municipalities (among the 565 in the state) in New Jersey that have authorized dispensaries to sell medical cannabis.

Atlantic Christian School is a private, coeducational Christian school in Egg Harbor Township, in Atlantic County, New Jersey, United States, serving students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. The school colors are green and white, and the mascot is the cougar. The school is dually accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and the Association of Christian Schools International.As of the 2019–20 school year, the school had an enrollment of 365 students (plus 137 in PreK) and 47.8 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 7.6:1. The school's student body was 58.6% (214) White, 14.0% (51) Black, 10.4% (38) two or more races, 10.1% (37) Hispanic and 6.6% (24) Asian. Tuition is $7,325 for grades 9-12 for 2022-23. After graduation, 75% of students go on to attend a four-year college.

The Egg Harbor Township Nature Reserve is a 220-acre nature preserve located in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. The reserve features an arboretum, 6 miles of hiking trails and a lake used for fishing and kayaking.The reserve is used for various events. In 2017, the reserve hosted their Turkey Trot 5k run and 1 miler walk. It hosted a two day art exhibit in both 2016 and 2017.

Storybook Land is a 20-acre family amusement park located in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, United States. Opened in 1955 by John and Esther Fricano, Storybook Land is located on U.S. Route 322, two miles west of exit 37 on the Garden State Parkway. The park is themed after many storybook characters such as Mother Goose, the Three Little Pigs, and many more. Some of its most prominent attractions are the J&J Railroad Train (which loops around most of the park), the Happy Dragon, and Whirly-Bug the Ferris wheel. The Land of Make Believe (not to be confused with the amusement park of the same name in Hope Township, New Jersey) has many of the standard amusement park rides such as Bubbles the Coaster, a junior sized roller coaster, and the Turtle Twirl, a Tilt-A-Whirl. Storybook Land also has a Santa Claus house where Santa and Mrs. Claus will pose with the children during the Christmas season.

Capt. John Jeffries Burial Marker is a historic burial monument in the cemetery at Scullville Bible Church in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, along County Route 559 near Somers Point. It was built in 1887 and added to both the New Jersey Register of Historic Places and the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. Capt. Jeffries (1829-1887) is known for his association with the ship Twenty One Friends, which, following an incident at sea, floated without crew across the Atlantic Ocean for two years before being claimed and returned to service.

McKee City is an unincorporated community located within the Mays Landing section of Hamilton Township, Atlantic County, New Jersey, United States. The community was named after Colonel John McKee (1821–1902), an African American property speculator. Although its name includes the word "city", McKee City is not an actual city — it is currently a crossroads of commerce that has replaced tenant farmers with retail stores and residential neighborhoods. McKee City is the home of the Atlantic City Race Course, along with numerous commercial businesses, including the Hamilton Mall, which opened in 1987.

The Hamilton Mall is a major shopping destination in Mays Landing, in Hamilton Township, Atlantic County, New Jersey, United States. Opened in 1987, the two-story enclosed mall is anchored by Macy's. The former Sears and JCPenney are closed. (Sears and JCPenney were at the Shore Mall (now Harbor Square) prior to 1987). The mall is adjacent to the Black Horse Pike (U.S. Route 322) and U.S. Route 40, and is close to the Atlantic City Expressway and Atlantic City, making it a high tourist destination for vacationers there. The mall has a gross leasable area of 1,028,500 sq ft (95,550 m2).The mall has over 140 stores, making it the largest mall in southeastern New Jersey. An Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Longhorn Steakhouse, and Buffalo Wild Wings are all located on pad sites on the outskirts of the parking lot. In 2017, the mall had a value of $90.78 million, which was reduced to $75 million in 2018.

English Creek is a 6.0-mile-long (9.7 km) tributary of the Great Egg Harbor River in southeast New Jersey in the United States.

Harbor Square, formerly Shore Mall, is a shopping plaza (formerly a shopping mall) in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey in the United States on U.S. Route 40/U.S. Route 322 originally known as "Searstown". The plaza is accessible from Exit 36 off the Garden State Parkway. The plaza is owned by Aetna Realty. The plaza has a gross leasable area of 337,423 ft², formerly 620,000 ft² when it was a mall, located on 73 acres (300,000 m2) of land. The plaza's anchor store includes Boscov's.

The Atlantic City Race Course (ACRC), formerly the Atlantic City Race Track, was a Thoroughbred horse race track located in the Mays Landing section of Hamilton Township, in Atlantic County, New Jersey, United States. The track is located off the Black Horse Pike (U.S. Route 322) next to the Hamilton Mall. Despite the name, the facility is located 14 miles (23 km) from Atlantic City. The facility closed permanently in January 2015. The main track is 1⅛ miles in length and 100 feet (30 m) wide, with a 7 furlong chute. The stretch portion of the main track is 947.29 feet (288.73 m). The turf course is a 100-foot (30 m) wide, one mile (1.6 km) oval. The stands offer a seating capacity of 10,000, with standing room available for 25,000. In all, ACRC covers over 250 acres (1.0 km2) of land.
