Thames-Coromandel District

Coroglen (Māori: Ōunuora) is a locality in the Coromandel Peninsula, New Zealand. It lies on State Highway 25, 18 kilometres south of Whitianga and 26 kilometres north west of Tairua. The "Tapu-Coroglen Road", a windy gravel road, connects it across the Coromandel Range with Tapu on the west coast of the peninsula.

The Coromandel Range is a volcanic mountain range in the Coromandel Volcanic Zone running the length of the Coromandel Peninsula in the North Island of New Zealand. It is located 60 kilometres (37 mi) east of the city of Auckland, and runs north–south for approximately 110 kilometres. It is at a right angle to the Tararua ranges. The highest point in the range is Mount Moehau (892 metres/2927 feet), at the northern end of the peninsula within the Moehau Range. There are numerous peaks over 600 metres in height. In pre-European times, the southern Coromandel Range was densely forested by trees such as kauri, mataī and tawa, and was a home for birds such as kererū, tūī, kākā and kiwi. Greywacke from the ranges was a source for many stone tools used by Hauraki Māori. The range is one of several that form a volcanic origin bone running through the northern North Island. To the south of the Coromandel Range, separated by the winding Karangahake Gorge, the bone continues with the Kaimai Range. The large island of Great Barrier, at the entrance to the Hauraki Gulf due north of the Coromandel Peninsula, can be thought of as a northern continuation of this bone of the Coromandel Volcanic Zone.

The Ounuora River is a river of the Coromandel Peninsula in the Waikato Region of New Zealand's North Island. It flows generally east from the Coromandel Range, reaching the Whitianga Harbour close to the small settlement of Mill Creek, 5 kilometres (3 mi) southwest of Whitianga.

The Kaimarama River is a river of New Zealand's Coromandel Peninsula. It flows from its source within Coromandel Forest Park, joining with the Mahakirau River to flow into Whitianga Harbour on the peninsula's east coast.

The Mahakirau River is a river of the Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand's North Island. It flows east from its source in the Coromandel Range, reaching the sea at Whitianga Harbour southwest of Whitianga.

The Whangamaroro River is a short river of the Coromandel Peninsula, in the Waikato Region of New Zealand's North Island. It flows east to reach a northwestern arm of Whitianga Harbour

Whenuakite is a locality on the Coromandel Peninsula of New Zealand. State Highway 25 runs through it. Whitianga is north west, Coroglen 8 km west, Cooks Beach and Hahei north, Hot Water Beach north east, and Tairua 18 km to the south east. The Whenuakite River flows from coastal hills in the east through the area to drain in the Whitianga Harbour.

Maumaupaki is a mountain in New Zealand 819 m (2687 ft.) above sea level in the North Island. It is in the Coromandel Range on the Coromandel Peninsula. The mountain is about 40 km (25 mi) from the town of Thames.

The Purangi River is a river of the Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand's North Island. It flows north to reach Mercury Bay to the east of Whitianga.
