Grangegorman Development Agency

Grangegorman (Irish: Gráinseach Ghormáin) is an inner suburb on the northside of Dublin city, Ireland. The area is administered by Dublin City Council. It was best known for decades as the location of St Brendan's Hospital, which was the main psychiatric hospital serving the greater Dublin region. As of 2020, the area is the subject of a major redevelopment plan, running for more than a decade, under the aegis of the Grangegorman Development Agency, including the new Technological University Dublin campus. Grangegorman is also the name of a civil parish in the historical baronies of Dublin City and Coolock.

Grangegorman (Irish: Gráinseach Ghormáin) is a stop on the Luas light-rail tram system in Dublin, Ireland. It opened in 2017 as a stop on Luas Cross City, an extension of the Green Line through the city centre from St. Stephen's Green to Broombridge.

Technological University Dublin (Irish: Ollscoil Teicneolaíochta Bhaile Átha Cliath) or TU Dublin is Ireland's first technological university, established on 1 January 2019, and with a history stretching back to 1887 through the amalgamated Dublin Institute of Technology which progressed from the first technical education institution in Ireland, the City of Dublin Technical Schools. It is the second-largest third-level institution in Ireland, with a student population of 28,500.The university was formed by the amalgamation of three existing institutes of technology in the Dublin area – Dublin Institute of Technology, Institute of Technology, Blanchardstown, and Institute of Technology, Tallaght, taking over all functions and operations of these institutions. It is the eighth university in Ireland, and the fourth in County Dublin. The university asserts an entrepreneurial ethos and industry-focused approach, with extensive collaboration with industry for research and teaching. The flagship campus is located within Grangegorman, Dublin, with two other long-term campuses, in Tallaght and Blanchardstown, and remaining legacy sites at Bolton Street and Aungier Street.TU Dublin has approximately 3,500 staff. Professor David FitzPatrick is the inaugural president, a role in which he currently serves.

Broadstone railway works or simply Broadstone or the Broadstone was the headquarters for mechanical engineering and rolling stock maintenance for Midland Great Western Railway (MGWR). The complex grew around the Dublin Broadstone railway terminus.

The Whitworth Hospital (Irish: Ospidéal Whitworth) was a general hospital on Morning Star Avenue in Grangegorman, Dublin, Ireland.

All Saints Church, Grangegorman is a Church of Ireland church located in Dublin, Ireland. It was built in 1828, to designs by John Semple, and formed as a parish in 1829 from the areas of St. Michan's and St. Paul's. It is a constituent member of the Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin Parish Group alongside St. Michan's Church, Dublin and St. Werburgh's Church, Dublin. This church in noteworthy on the basis that it is numbered among the first in Ireland to worship according to Tractarian Principles, and was the subject of protest and sanction by the Protestant community in Ireland in the 19th century.

The Richmond Surgical Hospital (Irish: Ospidéal Máinliachta Richmond) was a general hospital in Grangegorman, Dublin, Ireland.

Stoneybatter, historically known as Bohernaglogh (Irish: Bóthar na gCloch), is a neighbourhood of Dublin, Ireland, on the Northside of the city between the River Liffey, the North Circular Road, Smithfield Market, and Grangegorman. It is in the D7 postal district. The name dates from at least 1603.It is often referred to as Dublin's "hipster quarter" and was in TimeOut magazine's list of '40 coolest neighbourhoods in the world' in 2019.

The Hungry Tree is a tree in the grounds of the King's Inns in Dublin, Republic of Ireland. An otherwise unremarkable specimen of the London plane, it has become known for having partially consumed a nearby park bench. It has become a tourist attraction and is frequently photographed. The Hungry Tree was the subject of a campaign by Green Party politician Ciarán Cuffe to ensure its preservation.

The Cobblestone is a pub in Smithfield, Dublin, renowned for its live Irish traditional music. The pub has been run by the Mulligan family since 1987. It hosts multiple music sessions a day, and is primarily sustained by the tourist trade. In 2021 it was under threat of closure as part of a redevelopment plan to convert its rear venue room and outside area and surrounding buildings into a nine-storey hotel but Dublin City Council denied the scheme planning permission after public outcry and protest. The protests, which involved John Francis Flynn, Ispíní na hÉireann and over 400 others, caused Gardaí to shut down the quays of the Liffey. Performers and visitors to the pub have included The Chieftans, Mary Black with Steve Martin supporting on banjo, comic Billy Connolly, chef Anthony Bourdain, actor Jon Voight and musician Manu Chao. The Guardian named The Cobblestone as "Ireland's most famous traditional music pub" in 2021. Condé Nast Traveller described its sessions as "some of the best live traditional music you’ll hear anywhere". In 2023, the pub was the subject of an RTÉ documentary, Athbhaile. Later that year, it was featured in The New York Times's coverage of the sessions held in the wake of Shane MacGowan's death. In 2024, the pub was featured in Mega Dreoilín, a videogame art exhibition depicting the city's gentrifiction.

The Honorable Society of King's Inns is the "Inn of Court" for the Bar of Ireland. Established in 1541, King's Inns is Ireland's oldest school of law and one of Ireland's significant historical environments. The Benchers of King's Inns award the degree of barrister-at-law necessary to qualify as a barrister be called to the bar in the Republic of Ireland. As well as training future and qualified barristers, the school extends its reach to a diverse community of people from legal and non-legal backgrounds offering a range of accessible part-time courses in specialist areas of the law. King's Inns is also a centre of excellence in promoting the use of the Irish language in the law.
