Eagle County is a county located in the U.S. state of Colorado. As of the 2020 census, the population was 55,731. The county seat is the Town of Eagle and the most populous community is Edwards. The county is named for the Eagle River. Eagle County comprises the Edwards, Colorado, Micropolitan Statistical Area.

Battle Mountain High School is a secondary school in Eagle County, Colorado, United States. (BMHS) The school was originally built in 1975 in the town of Eagle-Vail. Prior to that, it was a combined middle school/high school near Battle Mountain Pass, near the town of Minturn. In 2010 it was relocated to a new campus farther west in the town of Edwards. It continues to serve as one of Eagle County's primary high schools today. The new facility was designed by H+L Architecture of Denver.

Eagle County Charter Academy is a K-8 charter school located in Edwards, Colorado. It opened in the 1994 school year with grades 5–7, adding 8th grade the next year, 1-4 by 2001 and Kindergarten in 2004. It has been recognized as a John Irwin School of Excellence. In 2004-2008 it received a grade of 'Excellent' from the state, based upon the performance of its students in the Colorado Student Assessment Program. There are 16-21 students in each class, creating grades of 32-42 kids.

Beaver Creek Resort is a major ski resort in the western United States, near Avon, Colorado. The resort comprises three villages, the main Beaver Creek Village, Bachelor Gulch, and Arrowhead to the west. The resort is owned and operated by Vail Resorts which operates multiple additional resorts. Beaver Creek is a regular host of World Cup events, usually in early December.

The FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2015 were the 43rd FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, held from 2–15 February in the United States at Vail / Beaver Creek, Colorado.Athletes from over 70 nations were expected, with a worldwide television audience of an estimated 1 billion and an onsite media and broadcast entourage of approximately 1,500. Competition began on Tuesday, February 3 and concluded on Sunday, February 15, covering 13 days and two weekends. There were five men’s and five women’s individual races, along with the nation’s team event, featuring a parallel giant slalom format. The team event was run at Vail and the other ten competitions at Beaver Creek, on or near the Birds of Prey course. These were the third world championships for Vail / Beaver Creek, which previously hosted in 1989 and 1999. All the events in 1989 were held at Vail, and 1999 had events at both resorts, seven at Vail and three at Beaver Creek. Also in Colorado, Aspen hosted in 1950, which were the first championships held outside Europe, the first to include the giant slalom event, and the first alpine world ski championships outside the Olympics since 1939.

Birds of Prey is a World Cup downhill ski course in the western United States, located at Beaver Creek Resort in Avon, Colorado. The race course made its World Cup debut 27 years ago in December 1997. Beaver Creek is a traditional early December stop on the men's World Cup calendar. The course hosted the World Championships in 1999 and 2015, and is also used for super-G and giant slalom races. Prior to 1995, the World Cup speed events in North America were usually held in the latter part of the racing season. This course has hosted total of 65 men's World Cup events (eighth all-time), and an additional three speed events in March 1988 were on "Centennial", the former speed course at Beaver Creek. In December 2021, Birds of Prey became the first course in World Cup history to host four speed events on four consecutive days (two downhills, two super-G's).

Eagle-Vail is an unincorporated community in Eagle County, Colorado, United States. Eagle-Vail is located along Interstate 70 and the Eagle River. A former census-designated place (CDP), the population was 2,887 at the 2000 census.

Avon is a home rule municipality located in Eagle County, Colorado, United States. The town population was 6,072 at the 2020 United States Census. The town is a part of the Edwards, CO Micropolitan Statistical Area. Avon is the gateway to the Beaver Creek Resort which lies about two miles (3 km) south of the town. It was the previous site of Vail Resorts before the company moved its physical headquarters to Broomfield, Colorado, in 2006. The town is the home of Liberty Skis, an independent ski manufacturing company.
