Medical University of Łódź

The Great Synagogue of Łódź (Polish: Wielka Synagoga w Łodzi) was a synagogue in Łódź, Poland, which was built in 1881. It was designed by Adolf Wolff and paid mostly by local industrialists, such as Izrael Poznański, Joachim Silberstein and Karol Scheibler. It served the reformed congregation and was usually referred to as The Temple.Prominent Łódż builder and architect Johann Steck (or, Jan Sztek, 1851–1914) carried out construction of the Great Synagogue in 1881–1887, at the corner of ul. Zielona and al. Tadeusza Kościuszki (formerly ul. Spacerowa). The synagogue was burned to the ground by the Germans on the night of November 14, 1939, along with its Torah scrolls and interior fixtures. It was dismantled in 1940. Today the site is used as a parking lot.

Ezras Izrael Synagogue, also known as the Wołyńska Shul, was a synagogue in Łódź, Poland located at ul. Wólczańska 6 Street. It was built in 1899-1904 from donations by the Jewish merchants including those expelled from Tsarist Lithuania and Belarus area. The architect was Gustaw Landau-Gutenteger. The synagogue flourished for only three decades. It was burned to the ground by the Nazis on November 11, 1939 before the Łódź Ghetto was set up.

Mediateka MeMo is a public multimedia library in Łódź, Poland, operating as Branch No. 29 of the Łódź City Library. Located at 5 Stanisława Moniuszki Street, the institution combines traditional library services with digital technologies, educational facilities and cultural programming. The library occupies the restored historic villa of industrialist Ludwik Meyer and forms part of the urban regeneration programme known as New Centre of Łódź (Nowe Centrum Łodzi). Registered members of the Łódź City Library network may use the collections and facilities with a standard library card.

Stanisław Moniuszko Street, historically known as Meyer's Passage, is a 0.3-kilometre street in the Śródmieście district of Łódź, Poland, within the Łódź City Center area of the Łódź Municipal Information System. This street, originally a private passage developed by Ludwik Meyer, features Renaissance Revival villas designed by architect Hilary Majewski. It runs almost parallel to the equator, connecting Piotrkowska Street to Henryk Sienkiewicz Street. Located entirely within Łódź's tourist-historical zone, the street's urban ensemble is listed in the register of historic monuments. It operates as a two-way traffic road (as of February 2017). Until 11 September 2002, it was classified as a county road, but its status was downgraded to a municipal road by Resolution No. LXXXVI/1902/02 of the Łódź City Council. The street lies within the boundaries of the Parish of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.

Łódź Voivodeship (Polish: Wojewodztwo Łódzkie) was a unit of administrative division and local government in Poland from 1919 to 1939. At the time, it covered a large portion of the mid-western part of the country, including such cities as Łódź, Piotrków Trybunalski, Sieradz and Radomsko. The capital of the Łódź Voivodeship was always Łódź, but the land that comprised it changed several times.

Muzeum Sztuki, or the Museum of Art in Łódź, is a museum of modern and contemporary art in Łódź, Poland, whose main goal is to research and display avant-garde art, as well as progressive artistic interventions. The institution is housed in three branches: ms1, ms2 and Herbst Palace Museum (Polish: Muzeum Pałac Herbsta). Established in 1930, it is one of the oldest existing and active museums to collect avant-garde art. In 1998 Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź was entered into the Polish National Register of Museums under number 53.

The Grazyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz University of Music in Łódź (Polish: Akademia Muzyczna im. Grażyny i Kiejstuta Bacewiczów w Łodzi), is a government-funded Institution of higher education in the city of Łódź, Poland. It was created at the turn of the 20th century as the Helena Kijeńska-Dobkiewicz Music Conservatory. After World War II, the Academy was reactivated as the State Conservatory of Music (April 18, 1945). It was re-structured as the Music Academy by the Act of Polish Parliament in 1982. Since 1999 it is named after one of its Rectors, as the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz University of Music.Among the former rectors of the Academy who influenced the Polish music scene were Kazimierz Wiłkomirski (1945-1947), cellist, composer, conductor and brother of Wanda Wiłkomirska, as well as Kazimierz Sikorski (1947-1954), recipient of the Order of Polonia Restituta (1937), composer of symphonies, overtures and concertos.The rectorate is housed in the Karol Poznański Palace on ul. Gdańska.

The Karol Poznański Palace is a former residence in Łódź, central Poland. It was constructed in 1904.It houses today the rectorate of the Academy of Music in Łódź.

Julian Tuwim Monument or the Tuwim's Bench (Polish: Ławeczka Tuwima) is a monument dedicated to Julian Tuwim at the Piotrkowska Street district of Łódź, Poland. The monument was constructed in 1998-1999 by sculptor Wojciech Gryniewicz.

Juliusz Heinzl Palace (Polish pronunciation: [juliuʂ xɛinzl]), which houses the Łódź City Hall, is a palace of Juliusz Heinzl, located at 104 Piotrkowska Street in Łódź, Poland.

Plac Wolności, known in English as Liberty Square, is an octagonal public square located in central Łódź, Poland. Completed in 1823, it is the northern endpoint of the commercial Piotrkowska Street. Its present name commemorates Poland regaining its independence in 1918.
