Fallasburg Bridge

The Fallasburg Historic District is a historic district containing the remaining portions of a nineteenth century hamlet surrounding the remains of a sawmill and gristmill. The district is located near the Fallasburg Bridge, where Covered Bridge Road crosses the Flat River in Vergennes Township, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

Vergennes Township is a civil township of Kent County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the township population was 4,189.It is part of the Grand Rapids metropolitan area and is located about 15 miles (24 km) east of the city of Grand Rapids.

Whites Bridge (alternatively White's Bridge) is a 120-foot-long (37 m) Brown truss covered bridge, originally erected in 1869 in Keene Township, Michigan, United States, near Smyrna on the Flat River. Carrying Whites Bridge Road across the Flat River, it is located north of the Fallasburg Bridge and south of Smyrna. The original bridge was among the area's best-known 19th century structures. The bridge was completely destroyed by fire, on the morning of July 7, 2013 (police deemed the case arson). In July 2016, approval was granted for rebuilding a replica bridge, which was completed in April 2020.

The Downtown Lowell Historic District is a primarily commercial historic district located along Main Street (M-21), roughly between Hudson and Washington Streets, in Lowell, Michigan. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

The Graham House was built as a duplex home located at 325 Main Street in Lowell, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. The building now houses the Lowell Area Historical Museum.

Lowell is a city in Kent County of the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 3,783 at the 2010 census. Lowell is part of the Grand Rapids metropolitan area and is about 15 miles (24.1 km) east of the city of Grand Rapids. The city is mostly surrounded by Lowell Township to the south, but the two are administered autonomously. Lowell is situated just north of where the Flat River meets the Grand River. The city's downtown area is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Downtown Lowell Historic District.

The Flat River (Ottawa: Quabahquasha, "Winding Stream") is a tributary of the Grand River in the western part of the U.S. state of Michigan. It rises as the outflow of First Lake, the last in a chain of geographically close, connected lakes known as Six Lakes in Belvidere Township, west of Edmore in Montcalm County. It flows mostly south and slightly west through Montcalm County, Ionia County, and Kent County, flowing into the Grand River in Lowell. Other cities it flows through along the way include Greenville and Belding.The river was an important water route and fishing source for the Grand River Band of Ottawa who lived along it in the 18th and 19th centuries.Two historic covered bridges cross the river. One, the Fallasburg Bridge, in Vergennes Township, Kent County is in Fallasburg County Park a few miles north of Lowell. The other, Whites Bridge is a few miles to the northeast in adjacent northwest Keene Township, Ionia County, near Smyrna. On July 7, 2013, an arson fire destroyed White's Bridge. Fund-raising efforts are underway in attempt to have the bridge rebuilt. At the time of its destruction, it was the oldest covered bridge of its kind in Michigan.There are 5 dams along the river: Greenville, Belding, Whites Bridge, Burroughs and Lowell.It is the river named in the song "Sad Ballad of Jack Haggerty", sometimes known as "Flat River Girl."

Lowell High School is a public school located in Vergennes Township, Michigan, United States, with a Lowell postal address.By 1992 the school district chose the Steve Wittenbach plot as the current high school location, which in turn helped gift a gas franchise to Grattan Township.

Keene Township is a civil township of Ionia County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,660 at the 2000 census.

The studios and offices are located at 77 Monroe Center in Downtown Grand Rapids while its transmitter is located near 5 Mile Rd and Lincoln Lake Ave northeast of Grand Rapids.

Murray Lake is a naturally formed lake about 7 miles (11 km) away from the town of Lowell, Michigan. Murray Lake is the third largest lake in Kent County, lying in the northeast corner of the county. The lake north of 4 Mile Road is in Grattan Township. South of 4 Mile is Vergennes Township.
