Nebraska State Fair

The Nebraska Innovation Campus is a public/private research campus being developed by the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. It is located in Lincoln, Nebraska on the 249-acre (1.01 km2) site of the old Nebraska State Fair grounds.Its purpose is "To encourage and incent the greatest amount of private/public research and economic development on this property thus allowing this site to become a preferred location for significant job creation in Lincoln and the State of Nebraska."The project is managed by the Nebraska Innovation Campus Development Corporation and is overseen by a nine-member board of directors appointed by the University Regents. The first projects will be related to agriculture and natural resources.The project was made possible by a 2008 state law which moved the Nebraska State Fair to Grand Island and turned the old state fairgrounds over to the university. Several citizens filed a legal challenge to the law, contending that it "created a special benefit" for some of the groups and people involved in the plan. However, in May 2010 the Nebraska Supreme Court rejected those arguments and upheld an earlier dismissal of the lawsuit. There was also an attempt to overturn the state law by referendum, but the petition drive failed to get enough signatures to qualify for the ballot.All of the State Fair buildings are to be demolished except the Arsenal and 4-H buildings, which will be remodeled and transformed into a focal point for the research campus. A group of activists is trying to save the 97-year-old Industrial Arts Building from the wrecking ball, and the Regents gave them until July 2010 to find a way to renovate and keep the building. One Wisconsin company submitted a bid to restore and renovate the building, but the university rejected it in August 2010 as too expensive. Later, the university approved a plan to repurpose the Industrial Arts Building, which included the addition of greenhouse space on the second floor.

The Ice Box is a 3,500-seat multi-purpose arena in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was adapted for hockey upon the Lincoln Stars' arrival in 1996. The Ice Box is located at 1800 State Fair Park Drive, on the former Nebraska State Fair grounds. The arena and fairgrounds existed simultaneously until the latter was bought and torn down by the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in 2010.

The State Arsenal, built in 1913 in Lincoln, Nebraska, was the first permanent facility provided by the Nebraska Legislature for support of the Nebraska National Guard, successor to the Nebraska Militia. The two-story, rectangular, concrete and brick building with a basement was used by the guard as a warehouse until 1963, when it was transferred to the state fair board. On January 1, 2010, the state fair board transferred ownership of the arsenal building and the surrounding property to the University of Nebraska. The building was the former site of the Nebraska National Guard Museum, which moved to a new location in Seward, Nebraska, in 2014.

The Bob Devaney Sports Center (commonly referred to as the Devaney Center, formerly the NU Sports Complex) is a sports complex on the campus of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Lincoln, Nebraska. The 7,909-seat arena opened in 1976 and serves as the primary home venue for several of Nebraska's athletic programs. The complex is named for Bob Devaney, who served as Nebraska's football coach from 1962 to 1972 and athletic director from 1967 to 1992.

Antelope Creek is a stream in Lancaster County, Nebraska which flows for 11 miles through Lincoln, Nebraska. It is a tributary of Salt Creek, itself a tributary of the Platte River.

The Jasper Newton Bell House is a historic one-and-a-half-story house in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was built in 1913 by Jasper Newton Bell, a carpenter, and designed in the Renaissance Revival style, with "a nearly symmetrical three-bay front facade, corner pilasters and dentilled entablature, and a two-bay front porch supported by Tuscan columns." According to architect David Ord Wallace in the National Register of Historic Places form, "the Jasper N. Bell house stands as a notable and dignified product, fully American in association, and a testament to both the conservatism and the competence of vernacular builders in the state of Nebraska." It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since June 21, 1984.

Barbara Hibner Soccer Stadium (commonly referred to as Hibner Stadium) is a college soccer stadium on the campus of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Lincoln, Nebraska. The 2,500-seat stadium opened in 2015 and serves as the primary home venue for Nebraska's soccer program. The complex is named for Barbara Hibner, who served as an athletic administrator at the university from 1976 to 2005.

The Eddy-Taylor House is a historic house in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was built with bricks in 1891 for Ambrose Eddy, and designed in the Queen Anne style. In 1902, it was purchased by Professor W. G. L. Taylor, who was the chair of the department of Political Economy at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln from 1893 to 1911. The house has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since July 21, 1983.

The Edgar A. Burnett House is a historic house in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was built in 1904 for Edgar A. Burnett, who served as the chancellor of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from 1899 to 1938. It was designed in the American Foursquare style by Fiske and Dieman. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since July 12, 2006.

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission (NGPC) is the State of Nebraska's State agency charged with stewardship of the state's fish, wildlife, state park, and outdoor recreation resources. The agency is led by a governor-appointed member commission consisting of 9 commissioners which directs agency management. The commission is also charged with issuing of state hunting licenses, fishing licenses, and boat registrations. The agency also manages State Parks and recreation areas throughout the state. It conducts public education programs for hunting and boating safety. The agency is headquartered in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Nebraska Public Media, formerly Nebraska Educational Telecommunications (NET), is a state network of public radio and television stations in the U.S. state of Nebraska. It is operated by the Nebraska Educational Telecommunications Commission (NETC). The television stations are all members of the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), while the radio stations are members of National Public Radio (NPR). The network is headquartered in the Terry M. Carpenter & Jack G. McBride Nebraska Public Media Center which is located at 1800 North 33rd Street on the East campus of the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, and has a satellite studio in Omaha.
