The Chinese Martyrs Catholic Church is a national Catholic church in the Greater Toronto Area for Chinese Catholics. Originally based in Scarborough and now based in Markham, it was the second Catholic church to cater to Chinese Catholics in the GTA. The church is named for the Chinese Martyrs, 120 Chinese and foreign missionaries and laypeople who died in China during the 19th and 20th centuries.

Middlefield Collegiate Institute (MCI) is a semestered, public high school in the neighbourhood of East Milliken in the city of Markham, Ontario, Canada. The Aaniin Community Centre is a public service building in Markham, Ontario, Canada. The 3 story centre totals around 122,000 sq.ft. and sits on about 13 acres of land. It contains a double gym, teaching kitchen, library, aquatics center, performance space, food concessions and support spaces. On the property there are 3 large parking lots as well as basketball courts and seating spaces.The Aaniin Community Centre was design by Perkins + Will in collaboration with Fleisher Ridout Partnership. The name of the community centre was in response to Canadas 150th anniversary to honor the indigenous peoples whose land the center uses (Aaniin means a greeting in Ojibway). The identity of the structure is a representation of the ideals of the calls to action stated in the Truth and Reconciliation papers.The open concept layout and immense pine and spruce roof is nod to its representation of inclusion and community. The suburban life of the heterogenous population is modeled through the pathways and dynamic public realm that the centre creates. Its materiality is a direct reflection of the people that live in the area, red hues being a prominent factor representing a colour significant to a lot of Asian cultures.

Father Michael McGivney Catholic Academy (commonly known as FMM) is a Catholic high school of the York Catholic District School Board. It is located at the intersection of 14th Avenue and McCowan Road in the city of Markham, Ontario. The school was founded by the York Catholic District School Board in 1989 and is named in honour of Father Michael J. McGivney, founder of the Knights of Columbus. The school is authorized as an International Baccalaureate World School. The school officially opened to students in September 1992. Students have the option of being enrolled in the International Baccalaureate program as of January 2011. This program is designed as an academically challenging and balanced program that prepares students for success in their post-secondary education and beyond. In the IB program, students study six courses at higher or standard level. Students must choose one subject from each of groups 1 to 5 (to gain experience in languages, social studies, the experimental sciences and mathematics). Moreover, the sixth subject may be an arts subject chosen from group 6 or another subject from groups 1 to 5.The school has an enrolment of 1400 students ranging from grade 9 to 12.

Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati Catholic School (occasionally called Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati CS, BPGFCS, or simply as Frassati) is a Roman Catholic elementary school located in Morningside Heights neighbourhood of Scarborough district in Toronto, Ontario, Canada part of the Toronto Catholic District School Board with the school is named after Pier Giorgio Frassati.

Brown's Corners (also Browns Corners) is the name of a community in Scarborough in Toronto, Ontario, Canada at the corner of Finch Avenue East and Markham Road.David Brown operated a business and post office on the southwest corner. The Post Office was relocated to Malvern Village, but the business continued as a grocery store well into the 1950s. The northwest corner was the Hastings farm. The Hastings farm house was relocated to the Cullen Gardens park in Whitby to await restoration. A huge barn was located at the intersection and remained there long after the farms disappeared. A car dealership replaced the farmhouse and barns. Thomas Maxwell lived on the northeast corner and there were smaller houses on the southeast corner. Today the area is mainly industrial and home to the large Canadian Pacific Railway's Agincourt Marshalling Yard. In the beginning, Fisher's Hill dominated the area south of Finch Avenue (Concession 4) and it was demolished and used to provide the level and proper gradient for the railway development. Leila Fletcher, whose name is associated with learning to play the piano exercise books, lived at Browns Corners in the 1950s. Vinegar Hill (also Vinegar Hill Dip) is an unincorporated community in Markham, Ontario, Canada bounded by Highway 7 to the north, Highway 407 to the south, and streets just west and east of Main Street South, bordered by the Rouge River. The name of the community is believed to be linked to a cider mill on the east side of the river valley or barrel makers that filled them with vinegar to test their straightness when rolling down Markham Road.The community is located just south of the historic village of Markham, and has several historic homes reflecting its rich history of being one of the first neighbourhoods settled in Markham. With walking paths along the Rouge River, its abundant wildlife and flora, its proximity to 407, and walking distance to Historic Main Street, this small neighbourhood has many amenities. The Main Street Markham South Bridge was a small concrete beam girder bridge with 2 lanes of traffic traversed over the Rouge River and connected Vinegar Hill to the Historic Village of Markham (this 1946 bridge replaced three bridges (including one washed out during Hurricane Hazel in 1954) that crossed the Rouge on Princess Street, Mill Street and Markham Road). The bridge was repaired in 1980-1981. In 2014 the old Main Street Markham Bridge was demolished and replaced with a new three lane box girder bridge and will be completed by end of 2015.

Woodside Square is a shopping mall in Scarborough, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, at the northwest corner of Finch Avenue East and McCowan Road at Sandhurst Circle. The mall is located in the heart of Agincourt.

Albert Campbell Collegiate Institute (Albert Campbell CI, ACCI or Campbell), initially intended to be known as Sir William Osler Collegiate Institute is a Toronto public high school in the district of Scarborough. The school was opened in 1976 by the Scarborough Board of Education. The school has a full range of programs and extra-curricular activities to provide all students with the Albert Campbell Experience: Academics, Community and Engagement. It is named after former Scarborough politician and mayor Albert McTaggart Campbell.

CJVF-FM was a multilingual/ethnic radio station which broadcast at 102.7 MHz in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada. Owned locally by Subanasiri Vaithilingam, the station broadcast with an effective radiated power of 6.5 watts (non-directional antenna with an effective height of antenna above average terrain of 63.4 metres), with a transmitter located on top of an apartment building near Woodside Square at Finch and McCowan in Scarborough, and studios also located in Scarborough.The license to the station was granted by the CRTC on December 7, 2011, with the stipulation that its programming consist of 60% Tamil, 20% Punjabi, 10% Filipino, and 10% English language programming.The radio station commenced broadcasting in March 2012 on 105.9 FM, though broadcasting exclusively in Tamil. The radio station was the first all-Tamil broadcaster in North America. On November 7, 2012, Vaithilingam submitted an application to the CRTC to change CJVF-FM's frequency from 105.9 FM to 102.7 FM. The change was required due to the sign on of neighbouring CFMS-FM in Markham, also located on 105.9 FM. The CRTC granted approval on January 30, 2014. On December 18, 2014, Vaithilingam applied to move CJVF-FM again, this time from 102.7 MHz to 105.3 MHz (due to a new station sign on), as well as seeking a power increase from 7 to 24 watts (38 watts Max. ERP), raising antenna height, relocate the transmitter and changing radiation pattern from non-directional to directional. During this time, the station suffered from poor management, lack of funds and failure to pay their workers for months. Because of this, numerous petitions were filed against the station. The application was denied by the CRTC on March 16, 2016, and resulted in the complete shutdown of the station.
