Hayling Island Lifeboat Station is a Royal National Lifeboat Institution station located on Hayling Island close to the town of Mengham in the English county of Hampshire. The station is located on the eastern side of Hayling island at the entrance to Chichester Harbour where it joins the major shipping route of the Solent, and is opposite the village of West Wittering. This major shipping route is busy at all times of the year and there are estimated to be 10,000 boats in the Chichester area alone. The Hayling Island station provides cover for the area 24 hours a day, all year, by means of two inshore rigid inflatable lifeboats placed on this station.

Chichester Harbour Lifeboat Station (sometimes knows as West Wittering Lifeboat Station) was located at the entrance to Chichester Harbour on East Head, a shingle spit located to the west of West Wittering, on the Manhood Peninsula in West Sussex. A lifeboat was first stationed at East Head in 1867 by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). Chichester Harbour Lifeboat Station was closed in 1884.

West Wittering is a village and civil parish situated on the Manhood Peninsula in the Chichester district of West Sussex, England. It lies near the mouth of Chichester Harbour on the B2179 road 6.5 miles (10.5 km) southwest of Chichester close to the border with Hampshire. The sandy beach has been described as having excellent water quality.The population in 1872 was 616. The 2001 census records a population of 2,684. There is a primary school.

East Wittering is a large coastal village in the Chichester district of West Sussex, England. The majority of the village lies within the civil parish of East Wittering and Bracklesham, while the western edge lies within the boundary of West Wittering civil parish. The village sits on the B2179 road 7 miles (11 km) southwest of Chichester, on the Manhood Peninsula.

East Wittering, or East Wittering and Bracklesham, is a civil parish in the Chichester district of West Sussex, England. The parish lies on the coast of the Manhood Peninsula, approximately six miles (9.6 km) southwest of Chichester. It comprises the built-up areas of Bracklesham and the eastern half of East Wittering, the western half of which lies within the boundary of West Wittering civil parish. To the east of Bracklesham used to be East Thorney, a detached portion of East Wittering separated from the body of the parish by the very narrow strip of Earnley. East Thorney is now under the sea off Bracklesham.

East Wittering Windmill is a grade II listed tower mill at East Wittering, Sussex, England which is derelict.

Pilsey Island is a 17.8-hectare (44-acre) Local Nature Reserve in Chichester Harbour in West Sussex. It is owned by the Ministry of Defence and managed by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. It is part of the Chichester Harbour Site of Special Scientific Interest and Nature Conservation Review site, Grade I*, the Chichester and Langstone Harbours Ramsar site and Special Protection Area, and the Solent Maritime Special Area of Conservation.The island has sand dunes, mudflats, salt marsh and bare and vegetated shingle. There are many plants, spiders and insects.There is no public access to the site.

The Hayling Seaside Railway, formerly East Hayling Light Railway, is a 2 ft (610 mm) narrow gauge railway on Hayling Island, Hampshire, England. It is mainly a diesel operated railway, though from time to time the railway hires steam locomotives from other narrow gauge railways. It operates passenger trains between Beachlands and Eastoke Corner.

South Hayling is a village and former civil parish on Hayling Island, about 5 miles from Havant, in the Havant district, in the county of Hampshire, England. In 2020 it had an estimated population of 15,948. South Hayling BUA's classification is a "smaller seaside town". In 1931 the parish had a population of 3254. On 1 April 1932 the parish was abolished and merged with Havant.

The Hazardous, formerly Le Hazardeux, was a French third-rate ship of the line captured by the English and later sunk in Bracklesham Bay, West Sussex. The wreck was found in 1977. The site was designated under the Protection of Wrecks Act on 21 August 1986. The wreck is a Protected Wreck managed by Historic England.

Tourner Bury is an area on Hayling Island, Hampshire, England, lying East of Mengham. As well as woodland, the area is the site of an Iron Age hill fort, which was the scene of small-scale rampart excavations in 1959 and 1971.A golf course lies to the north of Tournerbury Wood. To the south is Mengham Rythe and to the east Chichester Harbour.

Mengham is the largest settlement on Hayling Island in Hampshire, England. It is the largest shopping area on the Island, and has three schools and a Library. There is an old Church, St. Mary's toward the northern edge of the settlement. There is said to be an entrance to a tunnel in St Mary's churchyard, disguised as a grave. This tunnel allegedly goes down to the shore and in past times smugglers used it to bring contraband items into the mainland. The tunnel, found under the name "Mary Gritt's" leads around 1/2 a mile underground.
