The Lincoln Park Jewish Center is a Modern Orthodox synagogue located in 311 Central Park Avenue in the Lincoln Park section of Yonkers, New York. The originally Ashkenazi congregation was founded in 1938. Elliott Palais, a former president of the Lincoln Park Jewish Center said that the synagogue building "was designed by Eli Rabineau, the same architect who designed the Grinton I. Will Library in Yonkers and Bet Torah in Mount Kisco."The Lincoln Park Jewish Center revitalized in the early 21st century by Rabbi Rigoberto Emanuel Viñas, a Cuban-American Jew. According to the New York Times, Viñas attracted a large number of Hispanic Jews to the congregation, including Holocaust survivors who had settled in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Jews with roots in Cuba, Puerto Rico, and Spain. He was particularly noted for performing "ceremonies of return" for anusim.In early 2017 the synagogue building was sold to Brooklyn congregation Vayetar Yitzchok, after the Lincoln Park Jewish Center's membership declined from 350 to 65 families. Vayetar Yitzchok had about 200 member families and shared a synagogue in Brooklyn with another congregation, according to Lazar Lieberman, Vayetar Yitzchok's rabbi.

Yonkers Raceway & Empire City Casino, founded in 1899 as the Empire City Race Track, is a one-half-mile standardbred harness racing dirt track and slots racino located at the intersection of Central Park Avenue and Yonkers Avenue in Yonkers, New York, near the New York City border. It is owned by Vici Properties and operated by MGM Resorts International.

Lincoln High School is located in Yonkers, New York. It is one of the seven public high schools in the city and has an enrollment of about 1200 students. The front portion of the building was opened in 1953 as Southeast Yonkers Jr., Sr. High School with grades six through eight. It was completed in 1955 and renamed Lincoln Junior-Senior High School the following year. After the first year, sixth grade was dropped and ninth grade added and when the building was completed it became Lincoln Junior-Senior High School, enrolling grades seven through twelve. In the 1970s, the junior high grades were sequentially eliminated and the school became a four-year, grade nine to twelve, high school. Some members of the class of 1976 went to the school for grades seven to twelve (the last class to do so). It was not named for United States President Abraham Lincoln. The school was named Lincoln High School after the Lincoln Park area of Yonkers where it is located. The first graduating class, which went continuously from sixth grade to 12th grade, graduated in 1960. A very high percentage of that class went on to college and several of its graduates returned to Lincoln as teachers. The school colors are purple and white. Its mascot is a knight holding a lance, and its athletic teams are known as the Lincoln Lancers. Both colors and mascot were chosen by the class of 1960.

The Church of St. Barnabas is a Roman Catholic parish church under the authority of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, located at Martha Avenue near East 241st Street in Woodlawn Heights, The Bronx, New York City. The parish was established in July 1910 by the Rev. Michael A. Reilly, separated from the Bronx parish of St. Frances of Rome. It is one of the largest parishes in the Archdiocese.

Saint Barnabas High School is an all-girls, private, Roman Catholic high school located in the Woodlawn Heights section of The Bronx, New York. It is part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York.

Woodlawn Heights, also known as Woodlawn, is a predominantly Irish-American working class neighborhood at the very north end of the borough of the Bronx in New York City. It is bounded by McLean Avenue to the north (slightly north of New York City's border with the city of Yonkers in Westchester County), the Bronx River to the east, Woodlawn Cemetery to the south, and Van Cortlandt Park to the west. Woodlawn Heights remains one of the few areas in New York City that still has young Irish immigrants still arriving to the area en masse. Wakefield station (also known as Wakefield–East 241st Street station) is a commuter rail stop on the Metro-North Railroad's Harlem Line, serving the Wakefield section of the Bronx, New York City. It is the northernmost station on the line before it crosses the New York City limits into Westchester County, New York. It is 12.6 miles (20.3 km) from Grand Central Terminal and travel time there is approximately 29 minutes. The station is located on East 241st Street. The station is the first/last station in the Zone 2 Metro-North fare zone, and is the first/last station of the CityTicket intra-city ticket zone. Though there is no direct connecting bus service at the station, five blocks east from the station is the Wakefield–241st Street station (2 train) on the IRT White Plains Road Line of the New York City Subway, the northernmost station in the system.

Tibbetts Brook Park is a 161-acre (65 ha) park located in the Lincoln Park section of Yonkers in Westchester County, New York. Opened in 1927, it was one of the first developed parks in Westchester County and currently serves residents with activities that include swimming, hiking, sports, nature watching and fishing.The park was named for George Tibbetts, a Briton who had settled the land in 1668. Tibbetts is bordered by the Cross County Parkway to the north, Saw Mill River Parkway to the west, McLean Avenue to the south and Midland Avenue to the East. Tibbetts Brook Park is .6 miles (1 km) north of Van Cortlandt Park along South County Trailway, and Tibbetts Brook crosses north-south through the park on its way to the Harlem River.the park is not bordered by McLean ave to the south, it is bordered by Jervis rd to the south The park is the home ground of the New York Magpies in the USAFL.

Tibbetts Brook, originally Tippett's Brook or Tibbitt's Brook, is a stream in the southern portion of mainland New York, flowing north to south from the city of Yonkers in Westchester County into the borough of the Bronx within New York City. Originally emptying into Spuyten Duyvil Creek as part of the Harlem River system, the stream is now partially subterranean, ending above ground at the south end of Van Cortlandt Lake within Van Cortlandt Park. There it proceeds into city sewers, draining into either the northern end of the Harlem River or the Wards Island Water Pollution Control Plant. The brook provides significant watershed to both Van Cortlandt Park at its south end and Tibbetts Brook Park at its north end. There have been modern proposals to daylight the southern portion of the brook back onto the surface.

Woodlawn station (also known as Woodlawn–East 233rd Street station) is a commuter rail stop on the Metro-North Railroad's Harlem Line, serving the Woodlawn section of the Bronx, New York City. It is 11.8 miles (19.0 km) from Grand Central Terminal and is located on East 233rd Street near Webster Avenue in the Zone 2 Metro-North fare zone. Just north of the station is Woodlawn Junction, where the New Haven Line splits from the Harlem Line to join the Northeast Corridor.

Mount Vernon West station is a commuter rail stop on the Metro-North Railroad's Harlem Line, located in Mount Vernon, New York. It is the southernmost stop on the Harlem Line in Westchester County, New York. It is 13.1 miles (21.1 km) from Grand Central Terminal and travel time there is approximately 32 minutes. Its ticket office and waiting area are at the bottom level of the Bank of New York building on Mount Vernon Avenue. The station is the southernmost station in the Zone 3 Metro-North fare zone.

Bronx River Road is a major street and neighborhood in Yonkers, New York. It runs alongside the Bronx River, Bronx River Parkway, and Metro-North railroad tracks in south-eastern Yonkers. On the other side of the Bronx River is the City of Mount Vernon, New York as well as the Bronx. Bronx River Road runs down to McLean Avenue at the city line with New York City where it becomes Webster Avenue in the Woodlawn section of the Bronx. To the north, when it reaches the Cross County Parkway, Bronx River Road merges into Midland Avenue which leads to the Village of Bronxville, New York. Bronx River Road is lined with many older, large apartment houses along with several residential blocks with small corner stores. The area could be described as middle class. Though the area is sometimes referred to as Sherwood Park, or Fleetwood, most area residents refer to their neighborhood simply as "Bronx River Road". On March 16, 2003, there was a major fire at the Wakefield Towers apartment building at 85 Bronx River Road. Though there were no serious injuries, the building suffered massive damage, leaving over 300 people homeless. Since then, Wakefield Towers has been gutted, renovated, and rehabilitated, with all its architectural detail (turrets, minarets, etc.) having been restored by February 2007. This neighborhood is one of the most populated in eastern Yonkers.
