Apung Mamacalulu (Merciful Lord, Our Lord of Great Mercy) or the Santo Entierro (Holy Burial) of Angeles City, is a statue depicting the burial of Jesus Christ and is enshrined at the Archdiocesan Shrine of Christ our Lord of the Holy Sepulchre in Lourdes Sur, Angeles City in the Philippines. Thousands flock to hear the special Holy Mass celebrated every Friday at the shrine. Apu, as the lying statue of Jesus is fondly called by devotees, has become a symbol of hope for people longing for a connection to the divine especially when all else failed. His image is supine, bruised, caught in the final act of love and sacrifice that has spelled salvation for those who believe in him. Every kiss that lands his badly bruised feet or a touch that grazes his battered hand comes with a deep conviction that through his death and resurrection, He made all things new. Apung Mamacalulu bestows mercy beyond the grave.

The Angeles City Science High School (Mataas na Paaralang Pang-Agham ng Lungsod ng Angeles) is a Secondary Public Science High School system located on Doña Aurora St., Lourdes Sur East, Angeles City, Philippines. It was founded in 2006. It is a DepEd-recognized science high school. It is also a K-12 Curriculum based school as pursuant to DepEd order.

It was established on May 25, 1962, by Agustin P. Angeles, Barbara Yap-Angeles, and their family. The university was granted autonomous status and certified with the Institutional Quality Assurance Monitoring and Evaluation (IQuAME) by the Commission of Higher Education. Holy Angel University is a private Catholic research university in Angeles City, Philippines. Founded in June 1933 by Don Juan Nepomuceno and Fr. Pedro Paulo Santos, who was later named as the Archbishop of Cáceres, it is considered the first lay-founded Catholic school as well as the first co-educational Catholic high school. With a student population of over 21,000, it is the largest private institution of higher education with the largest student population in a single campus in Central Luzon.

Holy Family Academy, also referred to by its acronym HFA, is a private Catholic basic education school administered by the Congregation of the Missionary Benedictine Sisters of Tutzing in Angeles, Pampanga, Philippines. It was established in 1906 as a Catholic parochial school and named Colegio de la Sagrada Familia in 1910. It is now one of the most prestigious schools in Angeles City. It has both elementary and high school departments as well as kindergarten and preparatory school (known in the school as "prep") classes for younger students. The school follows the Benedictine tradition of Ora et Labora, which means "Prayer and Work". HFA is a Catholic Institution belonging to the Archdiocese of San Fernando, Pampanga and administered by the Missionary Benedictine Sisters.
