Elyria station (New York Central Railroad)

First Church of Christ, Scientist, located at 309 East Avenue, in Elyria, Ohio, in the United States is an historic structure that on July 18, 1975, was added to the National Register of Historic Places. As of 2018 it is now known as Christian Science Society of Elyria-Lorain.

The Elyria Elks Club, in Elyria, Ohio, has served as a clubhouse of the Elks social fraternity. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.The Elyria Elks Club makes extraordinary use of classical motifs. Two-story Corinthian pilasters support a richly detailed entablature that is highlighted by medal-lions. Above the entrance are a balcony and a set of windows enframed by Ionic pilasters and an entablature. On the interior, the second floor houses a large meeting hall. Notable chiefly for its architectural styles, this Renaissance Revival building was constructed in the early 1900s. The Elks occupied downtown buildings for some time before this building was constructed entirely for their own use. The brick walls rest upon a stone foundation and the entire structure is covered by a flat composition roof.

As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 52,656. It is a principal city in the Cleveland metropolitan area. The city is home to Lorain County Community College.

Old St. John's Church was a historic church at 600 W. Broad Street in Elyria, Ohio. It was built in 1889 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. It was delisted in 2016.

Elyria station is an Amtrak station in Elyria, Ohio. Located at 410 East River Road, the building is a small bus stop-type shelter. Elyria is served by the Capitol Limited and Lake Shore Limited routes, both of which pass through Elyria in the middle of the night. Starting in 1998 the Chicago-Philadelphia Pennsylvanian stopped in Elyria until 2003 when the train reverted the original Pittsburgh-New York route. The former New York Central Station is in downtown Elyria. It was built in 1925 as a replacement for a former Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railway depot, and has been purchased by the Lorain County government for use as a transportation center. The building had been used for many years as a beauty school since it was sold by Conrail. The county hopes to use the building again for Amtrak trains. On August 1, 2013 it was announced that Amtrak has offered to pay 2.9 million dollars towards the project in hopes of relocating its passenger service there.On October 25, 2013, the station building caught fire, causing an estimated $25,000 in damage and closing the station building indefinitely, with passenger access limited to the platform.

Elyria High School is a public high school in Elyria, Ohio. Founded in 1830, it is notable for being the first chartered high school west of the Allegheny Mountains. Elyria High School athletic teams are known as the Pioneers and compete in the Southwestern Conference. In 2007, Elyria passed Issue 7 allowing for a new high school to be built. All but the Washington building were demolished. A new athletic wing, academic building, cafeteria, and performing arts wing were all built, including a Performing Arts Center. The Washington Building was restored as well. The buildings were completed in December 2011.

Elyria Catholic High School (ECHS) is a private Catholic high school located in Elyria, Ohio, United States. It is affiliated with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cleveland and is the only Catholic high school in Lorain County. Elyria Catholic was built in 1949 and a physical education complex and economics lab was completed in 2007. The school colors are forest green, white, and black and athletic teams are known as the Panthers. The school is a member of the Great Lakes Conference.

Midway Mall is a 940,174 sq ft (87,345 m2) square foot regional shopping mall in Elyria, Ohio. Lorain County's only enclosed regional mall, it sits on Ohio State Route 57, about 1/8 mile from Interstate 80 (the Ohio Turnpike) and Interstate 90. Anchored by Dunham's Sports , it is a dead mall with only around 20 stores and services.
