Paradise is an area of Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, England. It is centred on the area at the bottom of Atkinson Road, where it used to meet Scotswood Road. In the Old Ordnance Survey map of Elswick for 1913 Paradise is just a small part of South Benwell, comprising the north shore of the River Tyne just west of the Armstrong Elswick Works, running up to Paradise Street and Evelyn Gardens, and the bottom half of Atkinson Road.It was also the location of the Paradise Pit also known as West Benwell Coillery. Which opened in 1819 closed in 1848. Paradise is mentioned in the full version of the traditional North East folk song the Blaydon Races.

Newcastle Sixth Form College is a Further Education college in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. Opened in March 2014, the college forms part of the larger organisation, Newcastle College. It offers around 40 different A Level subjects, the International Baccalaureate, and an access to A Levels GCSE programme.The college is located on Westmorland Road, in Newcastle City Centre. Due to its close proximity to both Central Station Metro station, and Newcastle Central Station, the college attracts students from across Tyneside and surrounding regions including Northumberland and Sunderland.

Newcastle Shot Tower, also known as Newcastle railway station, served the city of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Tyne and Wear, England from 1839 to 1847 on the Newcastle & Carlisle Railway.

Milecastle 5 (Quarry House) was the first milecastle west of Pons Aelius fort of the Roman Hadrian's Wall. No remains exist of the milecastle, though its supposed position is at the junction of the A186 Westgate road and the B1311 Corporation Street. No remains currently exist.

The Vertu Motors Arena (formerly the Eagles Community Arena) is a multi-purpose built venue for events, meetings, sports and the community in the Elswick area of the city of Newcastle, England. The arena has a capacity for up to 3,500 spectators and is home to the Newcastle Eagles of the British Basketball League and Women's British Basketball League.

Tyne and Wear Archives (formerly known as Tyne and Wear Archives Service) is the record office for the metropolitan county of Tyne and Wear, in North East England. Tyne and Wear Archives preserve documents relating to the area from the 12th to the 21st century. It is based in the former headquarters of the Co-operative Wholesale Society, which it shares with Discovery Museum in Newcastle upon Tyne.

The Discovery Museum is a science museum and local history museum situated in Blandford Square in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It displays many exhibits of local history, including the ship, Turbinia. It is managed by Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums.

Turbinia was the first steam turbine-powered steamship. Built as an experimental vessel in 1894, and easily the fastest ship in the world at that time, Turbinia was demonstrated dramatically at the Spithead Navy Review in 1897 and set the standard for the next generation of steamships, the majority of which would be turbine powered. The vessel is currently located at the Discovery Museum in Newcastle upon Tyne, North East England, while her original powerplant is located at the Science Museum in London.

St Michael's Church is a Grade II* listed catholic church located in Elswick, Newcastle upon Tyne, in Tyne and Wear.

St Stephen's Church is a redundant Anglican church on Brunel Terrace, Low Elswick, Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust.
