Fryshuset is a Swedish non-profit youth organization. Today Fryshuset runs a total of around 70 project, activities, educational programs and schools within four main areas; Role models and faith in the future (i.e. social programs) Youth culture Schools Work and EntrepreneurshipFryshuset also cooperates with foreign and international organizations (such as the United Nations, the European Commission, Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights and Homeboy Industries). Fryshuset has venues in Hammarby Sjöstad, Skärholmen, Husby, Nybro, Torsås, Östra Göinge, Göteborg, Malmö och Borlänge.

The International School of the Stockholm Region (ISSR) is a school in Stockholm, Sweden. It is located on Bohusgatan in Skanstull on the island of Södermalm. The school offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, and is an IB World School and a UN School.

Hammarby is a part of southern Stockholm, located southeast of Södermalm, east of Årsta and Globen, and west of Nacka. Hammarby is known for the sports club Hammarby IF and the new development Hammarby Sjöstad.

The Orion Theatre (Swedish: Orionteatern) is a theater located at Katarina Bangata 77 in the district of Södermalm in Stockholm, Sweden. Orion theater was founded in 1983 and is the city's largest avant-garde stage.

Skansbron (Swedish: "The Fortlet Bridge") is a bascule bridge in central Stockholm, Sweden. Stretching over the canal Hammarbykanalen, it connects the major island Södermalm to the southern mainland district Södra Hammarbyhamnen. Before the lake Hammarbysjön was transformed into a canal in the 1920s, Skanstull, the southern tollgate of the city, was surrounded by fortifications, including a moat over which a simple wooden bridge led into the city.In 1914, the City Council had determined the double traffic load at Slussen, caused by west-east going ships and north-south bound vehicles, would be solved by rerouting the ships south of Södermalm through a canal to be built.Delayed by World War I, the works were finally begun in 1923, and by 1925 a double leaf steel drawbridge was completed. The bridge is 14.9 metres wide with a 10.7-metre wide roadway, and has a horizontal clearance of 12.5 metres.During the construction of the bridge, the north–south traffic flow was confined to a temporary 98-metre long wooden viaduct with a central main span 32.5 metres long and pipes for water, electricity, gas, and sewer underlying the roadway.

Folksamhuset (Swedish for "Folksam Building") is a high-rise office building at Skanstull on Södermalm, Stockholm and was erected in 1959 as the head office for the insurance company Folksam. Designed by Nils Einar Eriksson, Folksamhuset is 79 metres (259 ft) and 23 stories tall, making it the ninth-tallest building in Sweden. The building, located on the southern toll of the historical city centre, was created as a vertical accent intended to counterbalance the large scale traffic routes and bridges passing in front of it: Skansbron, Skanstullsbron, and Johanneshovsbron. As one of the components in this urban superstructure, it also serves as a landmark underlining the main southern approach to Stockholm, together with other large-scale structures such as the Globe Arena, Skatteskrapan, and Söder Torn. The façades of the building are dressed up in blasted slabs of light grey marble, referred to as Ekebergsmarmor in Sweden. At the base of the building is a terrace with green areas. The interior office-spaces, the design of Yngve Tegnér, were inspired by large-scale industrial production.

Vita Bergen (lit. The White Mountains) is a park area of Södermalm in Stockholm. The former civil defence center Pionen, now used to host a data center is located there.Vita Bergen is also mentioned in the novel The Red Room by August Strindberg as the place where Ygberg, one of the characters, lives.

Pionen is a former civil defence center built in the White Mountains Södermalm borough of Stockholm, Sweden in 1943 to protect essential government functions. The address of the Pionen data center is Renstiernas gata 35 and 37. It was converted into a data center by the Swedish Internet service provider Bahnhof. It opened on 11 September 2008 and Bahnhof continues to use the facility today. Because of the facility being buried under the mountain, secured by a 40-centimeter thick door, and only reachable by an entrance tunnel, the data center is capable of withstanding a hydrogen bomb. The Pionen data center is also a colocation centre. In 2010 WikiLeaks used Pionen's colocation services to store their servers.

Sofia Church (Swedish: Sofia kyrka), named after the Swedish queen Sophia of Nassau, is one of the major churches in Stockholm, Sweden. It was designed during an architectural contest in 1899 and was inaugurated in 1906. It is located in the eastern part of the island of Södermalm, standing on the north east peak of the Vita Bergen park. Sofia church belongs to Sofia parish of the Church of Sweden.

Gullmarsplan (pronunciation) is a place in Johanneshov, Stockholm. The square there was built at the same time the new city area was developed in the 1940s. The business area around the square was inaugurated in 1946. It was named after Gullmarn, a fjord in the province of Bohuslän, at Lysekil. The Skanstullsbron (Skanstull bridge) and Johanneshovsbron (Johanneshov bridge) connect Gullmarsplan by road with Södermalm, a part of the city center. Beneath Gullmarsplan, the road tunnel Södra länken runs in an east-west direction. Just south of Gullmarsplan is the Söderstadion football stadium as well as the Avicii Arena (Globen).

Skanstullsbron (Swedish: "The Fortlet Tollgate Bridge") is a bridge in central Stockholm, Sweden. Overpassing the older bridge Skansbron, it connects the major island Södermalm to the southern district Johanneshov. The first proposal for an elevated bridge stretching over the canal Hammarbykanalen was produced in 1921, before work on the lower Skansbron bridge began in 1923. It remained the favoured bridge design to solve the increasing traffic load of the area during the 1920s and 1930s and was approved by the city council in 1939. World War II led to shortage of both finance and material, but work was started in 1944 and the new bridge was inaugurated in 1947.Skanstullsbron is a concrete double viaduct, with one bridge for vehicles and pedestrians and the other for the metro. Its total length is 574 metres of which 403 metres consists of the 16 spans of the southern beam bridge. The three central spans, 118, 112, and 106 metres long, offer a maximum horizontal clearance of 32 metres and a panoramic view of the surrounding city.
