Watchung Avenue (known as Park Street until April 1, 1919) is a New Jersey Transit station at the intersection of Watchung Avenue, Watchung Plaza, and Park Street in Montclair, New Jersey along the Montclair-Boonton Line. The Watchung Avenue station is on an elevated embankment between Watchung Plaza and Park Street. The outbound platform faces the plaza, while the inbound platform and the station house are on the Park Street side. The station house has a waiting room with a bathroom and a former post office and ticket booth. Service to and from this station is weekdays (Monday to Friday) only, with all service stopping at intermediate points.

Montclair () is a township in Essex County in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Situated on the cliffs of the Watchung Mountains, Montclair is a commercial and cultural hub of North Jersey and a diverse bedroom community of New York City within the New York metropolitan area. The township is the home of Montclair State University, the state's second-largest university. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 40,921, an increase of 3,252 (+8.6%) from the 2010 census count of 37,669, which in turn reflected a decline of 1,308 (−3.4%) from the 38,977 counted in the 2000 census. Toney's Brook is a tributary of the Second River in Essex County, New Jersey in the United States. Generally thought to be named for Anthony Oliff, a resident of West Orange (Newark in his time), Toney's Brook originates in Montclair northwest of the Upper Montclair railway station (originally north of the Montclair Presby Iris Garden), now with two branches, east and west of the elevated railroad tracks at Bellevue. In Montclair it is joined by two tributary streams, both originally also called Toney's (one called Tunnel Brook, arising from the cliff near Claremont Ave.). In Montclair, Toney's Brook runs through Anderson Park, Edgemont Memorial Park, Montclair High School and Glenfield Park. In Glenfield Park, the brook continues southeast into Glen Ridge, where it flows through The Glen (the glen for which that borough is named). It then flows into Bloomfield and, in Watsessing Park, joins the Second River, a tributary of the Passaic River. Many roads have been built over the brook and in some places it is covered up completely, canalized or culvertised. In the 19th and early 20th century, Toney's Brook supported several mills, which produced lumber, beer, calico, brass fittings, and pasteboard boxes.

Van Vleck House and Gardens is a former private estate run as a non-profit community resource in Montclair in Essex County, New Jersey, United States. It features a public botanical garden of mostly ericaceous plants that has been developed over several generations. The display of rhododendrons and azaleas shows numerous hybrids, several named after members of the Van Vleck family. The property had been in the hands of the Van Vleck family until 1993 when it was turned over to The Montclair Foundation. The main house, built in 1916 by Joseph Van Vleck Jr. as a Mediterranean villa, is available for events by non-profit organizations. A Chinese wisteria that was planted in 1939 climbs around the pillars of the back portico.

The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1928.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,998 students and 154.6 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.9:1. The Woman's Club of Upper Montclair is a women's club started in 1900 in the Upper Montclair section of the township of Montclair in Essex County, New Jersey, United States. The clubhouse, located at 200 Cooper Avenue, was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 4, 2012, for its significance in social history from 1924 to 1940. It was listed as part of the Clubhouses of New Jersey Women's Clubs Multiple Property Submission (MPS).

The Cliffside Hose Company No. 4, is located in Montclair, Essex County, New Jersey, United States. The firehouse was built in 1901 and added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 1, 1988. The firehouse was built to protect the north end of Montclair and currently houses Montclair Fire Department's Engine 2 and Truck 2.
